Very Spacious pitches and the pegs went in really easily.

The quad bike (strictly speaking a trike) trailer ride still goes on every night and the kids loved it.

The wash facilities were clean and there was lots of free hot water. Apparently the toilet block was built in 1976 and hasn't had any modernisation since, but to look at it you wouldn't believe that as everything is in top condition and better than on many other sites.

The play area kept the kids amused for hours, swings, a slide and a pair of spacious wendy houses.

A slight concern may have been that the walk to the owners house would have been a bit tiresome if having to do it at every mealtime for milk etc, but we had electric hookup for our own fridge so that wasn't a problem for us.

Other than that the only drawback I could see was the fact that you had to go down several miles of narrow lanes with infrequent passing places. Having said that in our 6 night stay we only met another vehicle once and that was fortunately at a passing place (very fortunate as the vehicle in question was an articulated lorry)

At £6 per head with small children free of charge this site was excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to return next time we visit that area.

There is no website for this campsite so don't bother searching. The owners have even got rid of their email, so it is the old fashioned ring them up technique (site office opening hours are 8am to 8pm)

A very pleasant, quiet, secluded camping site in the middle of the Glastonbury-Wells-Shepton Mallet triangle, small but spacious, well spaced for pitches, with a large children's play area in the centre and swings, wendy houses and footbal goals. Children's bikes and toys can be hired and borrowed from the owner's garage across the road, where they also offer books to borrow, drinks and ice creams for sale, tourist information and also B&B accommodation. Perhaps best approached from the Glastonbury-Wells A39 road, over the Queen's Sedgemore along the long straight Launcherly road (right at B&B sign, then next left).

We arrived Friday afternoon after travelling down some small roads to get there, we were actually shown to our pitch which makes a nice change, normally you get a map and just pointed in the right direction,
The field was fantastic, all the dwellings around the outside so the kids can play in the middle, the toilets where very clean and regularly inspected, the showers where basic but very operational and also very clean, the bins area had recycling bins and cleared daily if needed.
The play area was great for the kids, with volleyball/tennis net and goal posts, swings, slides and 2 great wooden houses for the kids to play with.
The owners are very very friendly and have freezers and fridges for FREE use, there where books and games to borrow as well. Children and Adults bikes where available for hire on an hourly or daily basis and where very very cheap. The Owner comes around the filed each night to take the kids on a wagon ride attached to the back of his trike, they loved it, all in all we had a fantastic time and there is not one thing I can say was a problem for the whole stay.
Cheddar caves and wookey hole are not far away and some lovely towns like Glastonbury, wells and shepton mallet are only a little drive away.

A site in the middle of nowhere but close enough to Wells Glastonbury etc to stock up. Wonderfully safe and free to roam for children.Lovely playground and HUGE centre of field for them to ride bikes play footie etc.
Lovely owners.Free use of their fridges/freezers.
Not easy to find but worth the hunt.
Great Value for money. No club house or shop etc so peaceful and restful no stress.
Toilet Block clean and practical.Certainly not glam but perfectly functional. No queueing for showers etc even tho only 4 of them.
Will definitely be going back.

I only have very good things to say about this site. We phoned up on the morning and got electric hook up pitch for that afternoon. The couple who ran the site went out of their way to be helpful walking down to the pitch with us and offering help with setting up and then coming back later to see if we needed anything. We stayed after the bank holiday weekend and so the site was very quite never less the owner came out every afternoon with his tractor and trailer to give our children a ride around the field.
The site was spotless and the toilets and showers had hot running water all day. The reception area has bikes for hire which we took advantage of and rode around the quite country roads and near by village. A very relaxing holiday all round will definitely be back.

Lovely site. Good sized flat pitches. Toilet block adequate. Helpful owner- useful fridges & freezers in owners garage. Toys and books available to borrow. Children enjoyed the  play area.
Interesting places to visit nearby - Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and Caves.
Good stop off on route to Cornwall. Will return.

Absolutely perfect for families with young children.  Lots for them to do, including a small playground and plenty of room for ball games.  The toilets and showers are basic but clean, with plenty of hot water.

The pitches are of a reasonable size, for tents, trailer tents and motor homes and there are a few pitches with electric hookups.

The owner lives in a bungalow close by and his garage doubles as a reception, with a bookswap, fridges and freezers for campers use and a large supply of childrens toys and bikes, some for hire.  He also sells canned drinks and ice cream.

There are no washing-up facilities, but the owner is happy to provide washing up bowls and kettles if you need them.

Some of the campers that we met had stayed their regularly for more than 10 years.

The site is handy for Glastonbury and Wells and there are plenty of country walks and cycle tracks around as the site is on the edge of the Somerset levels.

For bargain hunters, the Clarks outlet village at Street is only 15 minutes drive.

Beautifully quiet site.  Level field with lovely grass and lots of space around big pitches.  No dogs or caravans.  Family very friendly - always coming round each day to check everything is OK.

Very child friendly with small park, wendy houses and toys to borrow.

Site safe since fenced from road access. Cannot wait to go back.

Our little secret! Flat site, only ptch round edge of field, volleyball & footie (for kids) in the middle. Can get a bit soggy when it rains a lot as on the Somerset levels. NEVER had a problem getting in, but would need to book for hook-ups, I guess. Slap bang in middle of Wells, Glastonbury & Shepton Mallett (?). Always peaceful. VERY narrow lanes to reach it.

Has about 6 hook-ups for Motorhomes or tents only - no caravans allowed. Basic but V clean loos & showers. The owners live in a bungalow across the road (V quiet lane), and their double garage has freezers, books & toys for kids. Once a day the chap will come out & ride the little'uns round in a cart attached to his quad bike!
