We have just come back from this site which we found to be really nice, access to the beach was great our dog loved the sea! The site was reasonably quiet which we liked (we don't like noisy sites). We would go back to this site on short breaks but would like to see some improvement on the showers they look so dated and uninviting hence we were on a short break and didn't use them! but toilets were kept clean. This was one of the more expensive campsites we looked at but we choose it for the location and area (which was fantastic).

Slightly strange procedure on arrival in that you have to park on site outside of the toilet block and then walk out of the site onto the beach to sign it at the cliff park house. Able to choose where you wanted to be positioned. Dog friendly site and able to obtain provisions/beer from the cliff park house. Lovely dog walks in the surrounding area.
No fires allowed on site or on the beach and a strict no noise policy after 10pm. We saw a regular police presence surveying the site, for some reason they would drive around the site and back out again.
Annoyingly the toilets had keypads on them which I kept forgetting the code for and the door was always shut. The men didn't seem to have this problem as their toilet doors were always open!
We camped under a tree that dripped lots of resin onto the tent so it was a bit sticky on packing away, but that's not really the sites fault!
Friendly staff, clean toilets and free showers although you had to pay 50 pence for the hairdryer on the wall. Enclosed areas for laundry and 'pot wash'.
We paid approx £34 for 2 nights for two plus our somewhat elderly german shepherd dog.

Here there was level pitches and a specious green. The toilets were dated and not very inviting - especially for the money you pay you would expect more! The beach is right there with lots of heath walks by the dunes.
So, the location is totally worth a visit, but the facilities aren't anything to brag about, but they are clean and they work!
There is a little cafe at the cliff house and a games room for children. There is a separate field for static caravans. The town is worth a visit.

I love this site but it is basic. The toilets are always clean but only two showers so get up early. The position of the site is great a few steps and you are on the beach. There are no facilities for children like a playground but they do have the beach. The local shops are a five minute drive away and the local pub is great with wonderful food. I always use this site for long weekend breaks. But on a bank holiday you have to book for five day minimum in august. Some of us don't get five days so to book you would have to loose two days money not on really. All in all lovely site if you want a long weekend away

We are new to this site having never visited it before. In truth we only booked it to be near Thorpe Ness as my parents had a Caravan there for the Bank Holiday Weekend. As we have a large tent this was the nearest site. I was initially surprised that I would have to book a minimum of 5 nights! However I suppose I can see the reasoning behind it.
As expected the site was fairly busy. We booked in at the Reception and were given details of how to use the facilities and key codes for the Amenities Block. We were told to leave 6 mtrs between us and our neighbour. We did this but many didnt!
All the pitches were very level, the grass short and well trimmed. The soil is very light and sandy and drains very well and quickly. There seems to be adequate electric hook ups even though the pitches are neither numbered or allocated. First come first served! In truth this is a delightful site, right on the coast. Just hop over the low wall and there you are ! Lovely walks along coastal paths and a vast pebbled beach. Thorpe ness twenty five minutes walk away. Sizewell to the left.
Cannott comment on the food in the club house as we did not eat there. We did see the menu and it seemed a bit on the dear side. But perhaps thats just the way things are in this seemingly affluent area.
However the Laundry Room was well equipped and clean as were the toilets and the showers and the enclosed washing up area. All were well maintained and plenty of hot water! Showers were 20p but really you needed two coins for a reasonable scrub up!
The site was, even on this bust weekend, peaceful and a pleasure to stay on. We shall be returning asap.

Were a family of 5 with 3 young children. We arrived on site to be told to pitch the tent where we wanted as long as it was 6 meters away from other units.
We had a lovely spot. The site has a private beach (2 minute walk from our tent) which we went to everyday, my partner went sea fishing everyday (he took the kids with him so I was happy) and he caught dover sole for dinner and mackerel for breakfast. Very nice.
We had a drink in the bar which was only open at certain times which was silly as the staff were in the place and the doors were open but they wouldnt serve any1 before opening time, they also had a shop in the bar that sold milk, bread ect
There was no play area which I thought would be hard to entertain our girls fortunitly we took their bikes and they spent the whole 5 days cycling which was even better.
The site had to be in complete silence by 10pm which was fine by us as the our kids wouldnt sleep as other kids were still out playing.
The showers were clean but very hard work, it was 20p a time which lasted 5 mins but by the time you sorted the temperature of the water out you had to put another 20p in. Showering 3 kids was hard as you couldnt pull the showewr head down to rinse the kids hair it was on the ceiling.
Other than that we would definatly stay there again

We stayed two consecutive weekends in July 08. One week with children and one, without. Hard to get onto this site as very popular but we finally managed it. You pull into the site, then go to the reception house to pay and get a pitch number. Owners friendly, have loads of dogs running around, and tell you to pitch where you like as long as you leave 6m in between the next tent/caravan/motorhome etc.
Some seasonal caravans are left there and the first weekend we pitched in between two of these. The people did not turn up all weekend so it was quiet.
You are given a code for the door to the loo's and showers, some people leave the door open and others do not! I banged on the door to be let in on more than one occasion. I did not use the showers but they are 20p for a few mins and were in semi constant use during the stay.
Ate in the restaurant on both occasions we stayed and food was lovely but limited menu due to lack of numbers using it I would suggest.
We loved our walk from the beach round to Thorpeness where I treated myself to homemade waffles and ice cream, with drinks at the Dolphin Pub. Very popular and friendly, quite upmarket to what we are used to but nice for a treat.
One thing I do think is strange is on the site it states clearly NO ball games. Children play the ball games, the owner comes round in his Jeep tells them no ball games, then when he has gone again, the children get the footballs etc out and resume play! Hilarious to watch.

Booking was easy - both by email and phone and the owner kindly called back after I'd left a message.
The campsite is ideally situated - not far at all from the A12 but deep enough into the Suffolk countryside to be away from it all, and right on the cliffs at Sizewell.
The site was pretty much full when we arrived Sunday afternoon but there were still middle pitches available and a handful around the perimeter, though all the pitches at the cliffs overlooking the North Sea had gone.
However we found a good pitch close to the entrance and Christian Centre side of the site and there was plenty of room between us and others.
We had a mini thunderstorm on the second night - but in the morning any surface water had gone - indicating good drainage.
This site isn't too big - so there are no queues for showers though the dishwashing area fills up very quickly as elsewhere so chhose your time.
Everyone seemed to comply with the camp rule - no noise after 2200 which was fabulous.
The facilities are good - the reception, bar, restaurant and shop were all in the same place - the actual cliff house and the staff were very amenable.
There's also a basement games room with table tennis, table football and others which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
The shower room was clean and at least twice during our short stay I saw a chap maintaining the gents which is a good sign. The showers were good when they worked. You've got to put 20p in for five minutes' shower but on two separate occasions in 2 of the 3 showers I lost 20 p, 40 p in total. The shower is supposed to start as soon as the money goes in but on those two occasions the money went in and nothing happened. A further 20 p in the 3rd shower fortunately worked.
I appreciate that you need timers to stop people spending too long in the shower, but paying extra is not the way - I prefer the system they had at a campsite in Croyde, where there's a push knob which comes out and turns the shower off after so many minutes.
This site accepts dogs but they were all kept under control by their owners and there was no night barking.
However I was concerned to see a dog kept on a lead outside the door of the reception bar on more than one occasion, and for long periods.
From this site, Aldeburgh and Southwold are close by car and worth visiting. On our Southwold trip we also visited the lost village of Covehithe with its eerie church ruins. We'd done Dunwich before but for those that haven't been it's well worth a visit.
If you do Aldeburgh, check out Snape on the road out for its craft shops and Britten music recital theatres, and the folly of Thorpeness is worth a look.
One thing we didn't do which I wish we had was walk along the seafront path towards Aldeburgh from the camp site.Immediately in front of the wall.
Apart from dog on lead and the shower debarcle, I would recommend this site.

Nice little site. Great location right next to the beach and the power station isn't visible from the site. It's very quiet bar the odd sounds that waft over from the Christian Centre, though these were never at night. The facilities were very clean and seemed enough to serve the site when it was busy. There are some very nice pitches around the circumference and it seemed very safe for the kids who really enjoyed being there. Leiston has a good Co-op and take-aways and it's very handy for visiting the posher Southwold, or the very posh Aldebrugh.

The campsite is nicely laid out with spacious pitches of different character. Close to the beach which is great and it was very quiet - although there's a religious centre close by where lots of singing was going on but that stopped at 10 pm.
The showers for 20 p each are a bit of a pain, surely there must be another solution possible.
The nuclear power station close by was no problem at all, it gave the horizon a somewhat curious character but not unpleasant. And you can always look the other way if you want the impression of nature all around.
There are a few attractions on the campsite: the games room was very nice and probably useful for rainy days. But it is basically a rather simple and friendly site for people who like quiet and don't mind keeping themselves busy.
The Suffolk countrysite around is absolutely stunning. Lovely walk and is great for cycling too.
