Just spent a long weekend at Walnut Farm. Good value for money, owners very helpful and always on hand. Site kept very tidy with ample water, waste and recycling facilities. Bathroom style showers and toilets which were always clean but a bit dated (been in a lot worse). Great dog walk around owners land plus free fishing available. No direct beach access but 2 min drive or 10 min walk. Lovely views over open fields and very quiet setting.

Local site for us and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely peaceful site with friendly and helpful owners and a good price, no extra charges for dogs or awnings.

The site has bathrooms with toilet, shower and sink. Washing up sinks with washing up liquid supplied (never had a site do that before).

Brilliant for dogs we took 3 and the dog walk is lovely. The beach is just down the road with Seals so make sure you take the camera. Local shop in Sea Palling and a Tescos in Stalham.

Great base for touring.

When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owners.

The site is spotlessly clean with raised flower beds all around the site.

It has great showers (all with glass doors), toilets, washing sinks, And all are really clean,

The site has it's own dog walk (about 2 miles long) which is also a great walk to take the kids on in the evening as we did.

It is close to the beach, but has no access from the camp site, There is access to the beach about 2 miles up the road.

It is on the edge of the Norfolk Broads so is great if you want to hire a boat for the day as we did.

There is some shops a few miles away in winterton and sea palling.

Great yarmouth is about 15~18 miles away.

This one of the best sites we have stayed at in over 25 years of camping, 10/10.

My two children enjoyed there stay so much, when we got home they wanted to know when we are going back.

We have booked up for one & half weeks again this year.

If you want to stay at this site you will have to be a member of the Camping & Caravan Club

This campsite ticked all the boxes for us. If you are looking for a quiet well presented site with friendly staff and good facilities this is it. Clean and well maintained with constant hot water for washing up. Three shower units with toilet and sink along with a single toilet are more than adequate for this site.

If you have dogs there is a well maintained mile and a half long walk which includes fields and riverside where dogs can run free. Beaches are not accessible direct from the site but only a short distance away and well worth the walk or drive.

We would certainly recommend this site and will be returning.

Walnut Farm is great if you want a small intimate campsite. The washing up & shower facilities were really good. Shower rooms as opposed to communal showers. All are clean and tidy.

My husband and I have been there 3 times but not since our daughter was born as there is nothing for children really - no play area etc.

It is close to the beach and you are also close to plenty of attractions in the area.

Would really recommend this site and plan to go back when our family is slightly older.

Stayed from 23rd December 2009 to 3rd January 2010. Although we have stayed here once before, we decided it was where we wanted to spend Christmas and New year as it was so very peaceful and surrounded by such a great area. My last review seems a bit unfair now as on this visit the couple who greeted us were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and also we already knew where everything was located!

All amenities were spotlessly clean and lovely piping hot water from spacious showers, which were in separate spacious bathrooms.
For walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts, (such as ourselves), this was a fantastic place to be based as it is so peaceful and quiet, set well back from the road and at this time of year the farm is very quiet!

The various walks to the beach are great for wildlife, including the seals on the beach at Somerton and Winterton. All in all we had a great stay here and will definitely be going back again!

 Fantastic site, loved every minute.

Gerry the owner is a really nice guy and made us feel very welcome.

Usually we camp in a tent but being in November we decided that the static would be the best idea.

The dog walk is fantastic and we used it several times a day.

Drove just down the road and then walked along to the viewing point to see and photo the seals and their pups.

Even this time of year there was quite a lot of wild life to observe and photo

Great place, recommend to all.

Can't comment on the other facilities on site but the camp site areas looked spacious and well laid out.

Very quiet when we were there, which we loved. Will be going back.

We found this site by accident but upon arrival were very pleased by its location and quietness ( we were the only people there!) Upon arrival we could not find anybody so had to phone and were told where the reception was as it is a working farm and difficult to find where you are and are not allowed.

We were greeted by a man who took our money for 2 nights stay and hurriedly pointed out shower / toilet block, water, elsen point etc. We chose a pitch to suit us as all were free (and 2 fields to choose from) but pitches did seem very close together.

We found the surrounding area to be absolutely fantastic for deserted beaches, walks, cycling, broads and countryside, although shops were quite a cycle away. Because of the beautiful area we stayed for a week, but on the downside if you are not fit you have to go out by car!

Because we were hurriedly pointed out where all the facilities were located (and there was never anyone around to ask!) we did have trouble locating everything. Especially the toilet / shower block which took us 2 days to find as it was in the working part of the farm where lorries were parked. But what a surprise when we found them! Very spacious with 3 separate proper bathrooms with shower cubicles with glass doors and one separate toilet, although when busy I would think you would have to wait.

They were clean but very dusty and lots of cobwebs, looking like they had not been used much, but water was very hot and costing £1 for approx 13 minutes which was surprisingly enough time for a decent shower.

The downside was that there were large lorries and tractors coming and going all day which did not bother us too much, but if parked on other field would have been very noisy! I think we would stay again but only because it is the only site central for such a beautiful area of outstanding beauty with fantastic natural coastline, including Winterton where seals are seen on the beach!

This site is in a great area for walkers, fishermen/women, and beach fanatics. Site is level and well maintained although stony in places. However, when we went in August the camping field was overcrowded, with little space between units. The owners are friendly and helpful although there was some confusion over our booking when we arrived, and they always seemed to be about the site even though it's a working farm.

Marked dog walk around perimeter of farm is excellent! Our greyhound hasn't been as fit as she was at the end of our stay since she retired :-) Distance to shops means you need transport but walk to the Nelson Head PH in Horsey is well worth it - take a torch if going in the evening, it's dark on that road! The separate bathrooms are a great idea let down by insufficient plumbing, which means when it's busy we were getting showered with icy cold water when someone is washing up in the adjacent kitchen area, and while you're being frozen you £1's worth of electricity is still counting down. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn't stay again, certainly in the high season when it's too crowded and frankly a little on the expensive side for what you get.

For those who love beach holidays Walnut Farm is within 10 minutes drive of some of the safest, sandiest and quietest beaches in Norfolk if not the whole of the UK. Add to this the experience of sharing the beach with seals at Horsey or a visit to the more traditional holiday resorts of Great Yarmouth and Cromer and you have the base for the perfect holiday.

The whole site is flat and well landscaped, the caravan area is very spacious but we felt that units where squeezed onto the camping field, many much closer than the 6 metre rule of the Camping & Caravan Club to which the site is a Certified Site.

The site was full for our ten night stay but the large shower rooms were always clean and we never had to wait long to use one.

Television reception was very poor on the camping field (we could not get digital reception) because of the proximity of high trees around it, however reception looked to be good on the caravan areas.

The dog walk has to be seen to be believed and is worth going on even if you do not have a dog. There are too many dog friendly pubs in the area to mention but our own favourite because of welcome, quality of food and range and price of drinks was the Lion at Somerton.

Walnut Farm does not have a play area for children and because of this the camping field was used as a football pitch, cricket field and cycle track at various times throughout our stay.

I would and will go back to Walnut Farm, however unless they have used a small part of their substantial land to make a play area for the children (of all ages) it will have to be outside of school holidays.
