With a rare scorcher of a weekend forecast we decided to try and find a site within an hours drive from home with a fishing lake. Upon calling to check availability for two caravans I was informed by the owner that he did have room for us but that he was hosting a 21st birthday party for his son and that whilst we were welcome to join in there may be some noise as it was a barbecue, disco / karaoke event. I advised that this sounded more like a bonus than a problem and booked on.
When we arrived we were greeted by Vic and Patch and after pitching up he showed us round the facilities. They have been mentioned by other reviewers and are as good as previously reported. The toilet and shower block is something to behold for any site but particularly impressive for a certified site, it goes without saying how clean and comfortable they are but it is the little extra touches that make the difference, a seating area in the shower room, plenty of hooks to hang your towel and clothes and even a lit vanity mirror with a seat. Although housed in a porto-cabin they are very much home from home. 10 out of 10!
The cafe is small but it is clean welcoming and aside a lovely decked outside eating area overlooking the lake. We had a lovely Sunday lunch cooked by Cheryl, a huge portion of meat was plated up, fresh vegetables, Yorkshire puds, mash and roast potatoes were available for self service from a hotplate. I know she'd also made a home made cheesecake which I would have liked to have sampled but I was too full.
The lake is crystal clear and pleasant to look at or to sit beside reading a book whilst the other half fishes.
I'd imagined our 'invite' to Shane's birthday party would have included the offer of a hot dog and the free show from the disco but Vic and Cheryl were true to their word and fully included all us campers on the site, we were treated to some lovely food, we were invited to participate in the karaoke, hope our efforts haven't got us banned for life. Thanks, it was great, we had a brilliant weekend.
Vic even said I could keep the book I borrowed from the loo and suggested I bring it back next time I visit or even bring some of my own that I've already read. We'll definitely be back, I'll bring some books with me.

A lovely well run campsite with excellent toilet facilities. The site is well located for visiting Nottingham, Derby and the surrounding areas. We day tripped to Rutland Water as well as the nearby Newstead Abbey. Vic and Cheryl were very welcoming and friendly and that's saying nothing about the one dog welcoming committee Patch!
The site is quite small, if you have a tent as large, as ours, make sure you state when booking as Vic stated that we were taking up 2 bays (although he still only charged for one!)

Driving to this site we thought the area was a bit too industrial, but as you enter the gates of the Farm, it's a nice surprise to find greenery and the lake. And it was a pleasure to hear the birds from their aviary. The site is marketed like a large Caravan Park and Fishing Lake, and you need to remind yourself that it is a 5-van site. On that basis, for a certified site it is very good. The toilets are spotlessly clean, and the shower is spacious.
We didn't try the cafe, but other campers rated it highly.
The lake is beautifully clear as it's spring fed, and the fish (ide mainly) practically leap onto your rod. It's not a lake for a serious carp angler
We were presented with a leaflet with lots of rules and regulations when we first arrived. Vic & Cheryl were OK with us leaving our dogs off the lead, as their dog Patch was also roaming free. The down side was that we did pick up a few of Patch's 'deposits' so that campers did not think it was ours.
Our leaflet is not all rules it shows how to find us, local areas of interest and facilities and standard rules that apply to a fishery - including using unhooking mats to protect our fish (which we have available to use),only having one rod in use at any time and the type of baits that are successful and again protect our fish and the environment.
Light sleepers may be disturbed by the lorries from the co-op depot next door, particularly if pitched further away from the house.
The site fee is a little steep for a CS, but can perhaps be justified because of the toilet facility. It would have been nice to have the option of a cheaper pitch without electric.
When booking we always ask if hookup is required or not so the option was available. Our price, from other feedback particularly because of the toilet facilities and the shower, which is at no additional charge, is reasonable from the feed back our other customers have given.
We choose to go to CS's for a bit of peace and quiet and tranquillity, and even to be a bit unsociable! Vic and Cheryl are extremely friendly but we found them a little bit 'in your face' - we put that down to their vast enthusiasm for this new venture.
We apologise if we did not read the signs that you wanted to be unsociable, we thought we were simply sharing stories of camping adventures and the types of customers we had both experienced even though we were only one month into our new venture.
Thanks for the feedback, hopefully we can use it to make sure others have an excellent time at our site.

Stayed here for just the one night, spur of the moment thing. Very nice and friendly site, with beautiful surroundings. Toilets and showers were by far the cleanest we have seen on any other camp site. Vic made us a lovely full English breakfast on the Sunday morning, which was great value for money and set us up for the day ahead. We shall definitely be visiting here again in the near future and trying one of the Sunday roasts and a bit of fishing on the large fishing lake here.

Having arrived we were shown to our pitch by Vic and after setting up Vic and Cheryl showed us around. The Toilet block is immaculate and it stays like it at all times (a pleasure to take a shower on site for a change). The small cafe (with a large well stocked aviary just outside the door) serves breakfasts and excellent Sunday meals at reasonable prices (no one goes hungry or complains)
A peaceful site within easy reach of Nottingham and all the things you would expect of a large city, but with the peace of the countryside. Supermarket, garage, takeaways and a pub all within a mile of the site.
The well stocked lake is right on the steps of your caravan and you will not be disappointed with the fishing.
All in all a site that has started with a high standard and will I am sure only get better as word quickly spreads. We will be back many more times.

We stayed at the campsite on a Saturday night and although it was near to Nottingham, it was a small oasis. The owners made us feel really welcome and gave us chance to set up before giving us a tour of all the facilities. The toilet block was exceptionally clean and very roomy with lots of hot water. We didn't stay for Sunday dinner but will do the next time we go back. Vic was very helpful and gave us advice on walks in the area. We had a really good stay there and will definitely be going back.

A little gem in the making. Very friendly welcome from Vic and family, not forgetting Patch, whom I'd like to have taken home with me. We had a cooked breakfast in the cafe, very reasonably priced; Sunday lunch also available. If you're a fisherman (we're not) I'm sure you'll be there for days. Shower etc. Spotless. Plenty of facilities in reasonable distance. Quick stay for one night as needed to stop close to M1 / Nottingham, but we'll be back for longer next time. Road to campsite narrow but with plenty of passing spaces.

We have just returned from a 5 day break at Blenheim Farm caravan park and it is truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived where we were greeted by the owners Vic and Cheryl and their little dog it was so comfortable, friendly, and relaxing. The site is lovely and all the pitches over look one of the lakes.
The fishing is superb and the lake is of a good size with approx 9-10 pegs and Mark my husband caught approx 200lb of fish in the 4 days he fished on the lake. He caught different varieties including Rudd Carp Tench Ide and the biggest single fish he caught was approx 7-8lb but there is still at least 1 bigger one who kept teasing him but he didn't manage to catch him this time but will definitely try again next time we visit.
The facilities include a small cafe serving breakfasts if required, afternoon tea, and Sunday Lunch, also hot and cold drinks and plenty of fishing bait.
There is a shower and toilet block which are lovely and modern and kept spotlessly clean.
Over looking the lake is a decked area with tables and chairs where you can sit and watch the fisherman, or watch the birds in the aviary.
The small town of Bulwell has a few shops and on certain days a market this is approx 5 minutes drive from the site, but closer there is a pub, supermarket, chinese takeaway, pizza parlour, and a chip shop, and Nottingham is only 4 miles away.
We highly recommend you give this site a try and are sure it won't be your last visit it will be the first of many it certainly will be for us.

We’ve just returned from 5 nights over the bank holiday weekend at the Blenheim Farm camp site, which has recently opened as a 5 van site. I managed to locate the site reasonably easy and on entering the site was welcomed by Vic & Cheryl (owners) and the dog patch.
The site is near Bulwell and jumping on a tram (£2.70 return) and free parking into Nottingham is easy.
Pitching’s on site are well spaced with an electrical supply that doesn’t trip when you put the kettle on whilst watching TV.
Cheryl does a Sunday lunch this is something you will talking about for ages.
The site is lovely, spacious with clean toilets and shower room, the café is small, however well equipped with seating for several people with additional seating outside on the hard standing and raised patio area overlooking the large aviary. The aviary has several types of birds with additions to be added later in the year.
There is a well stocked fishing lake; this is a fisherman’s paradise with average fish size of 2lbs plus with breakfasts available on request(a couple of fish 6lbs plus were pulled out whilst I was there, however the big one is still to be caught).
All in all, both the wife and I had a great time and will return in the future.
