We have just returned after 8 days at this site.
First impressions where that the site looked smaller than the photos on the website.
However this was a wonderful site.We visited just out of peak season and was happy that we did. The price for the pitch was only £16 and that includes one tent and up to 5 people (what a bargain). The dog was an extra as was a second car but this was hardly bank breaking.
We was sited on pitch 47 and in our opinion one of the better pitches as this was level and at the top of a slight incline towards the beach.Caravans and motorhomes where sited around the edge of the sites with tents to the inner. The facilities were pretty good, the shower and toilet block had three showers and four toilets which were adequate on our visit but at peak times could have to wait.On site laundry room, washing machine £2 tumble dryer £1.Free freezer for freezing freezer packs for cool box.On site bar and restaurant was of great standard pints and food were of good quality although on Saturdays and Sundays very ,very busy and booking essential(this was not even in peak season).
The site is situated on top of a hill going down to the beach. The beach is sandy and rocky great for fishing, rock pooling and swimming. The sunsets are to die for and were unbelievably great for budding photographers.
What a great site met people that have been visiting this site for decades, goes to show that once a gem is found it is never forgotten. Will definitely visit in the future.

We have just returned from our 3rd glorious week end this year at Cei bach and I felt I must submit another review, as usual everyone was friendly and very welcoming but the reason for my review was to praise the staff at the country club for the fantastic food. The service was spot on and the rib eye steak is to die for cooked to perfection how we liked it. Previous reviews have mentioned slow service but as this was the 2nd time we have eaten there we have yet to experience slow service in fact it was that quick I had no time to visit the loo between starter and main course!

This is a great campsite, clean, neat and tidy. We were welcomed when we arrived, and given the choice of pitch, hardstanding if we wanted. The host then explained where everything was and gave us a few tips for our stay and told us a bit about the surroundings etc.
The last bit of the drive to the campsite was quite narrow, but we expected it from the details in this website, and drove accordingly.
The weather was gorgeous and the other campers were very friendly to us.
The showers, toilet block and washing up station, were very clean and modern. The showers operate with a pushbutton and were efficient and hot.
There are electrical hookups all around the camp and the are water stations everywhere too.
The on site club/pub has a nice comfy air about it and you are welcomed. We didn't have any meals there as we did a lot of travelling and only stayed from Friday afternoon til Sunday morning.
There was a good playground there but as we didn't have any children with us we couldn't comment on it.
There is a path to the beach and it was nearly only us on the beach the two days we went there, so beautiful.
We saw and heard the van arriving with its goods in the morning. He had a queue to see him.
The pitch we chose had the sea behind us and it was wonderful to go to sleep hearing the sea.
I don't have anything to criticise the camp site for, they were very good.

A super week, the weather was cloudy but very mild and we got to the beach most days. The pitch was good but a bit boggy, but its winter so its to be expected. Xmas Lunch was lovely, it certainly made a change from doing it all myself. One or two people had a little moan about the service but it seems to be a problem they find they cant fix, because its been the same all year. A little staff training is required I think.
All in all a great break, many thanks to Paul and Steph, see you both again when its warmer.

Our forth visit and just as good as the others. As in previous posts we noticed the staff in the restaurant were very slow and made numerous mistakes during Sunday lunch. But having said that the food was good and plentiful. We are going back for a week at xmas and have booked to have lunch on xmas day so wish us luck. I'm sure it will be great. And being able to have a walk on the beach afterwards is a definite bonus.

The instructions you are given to find this site are excellent although I still panicked when we took the final turning down what seemed like a tiny dead end, only to find it immediately opened up to the site round the bend. We had a hard standing pitch round the edge which was fab as we could see the sea and it seems quite sheltered from the ever present wind. The reception staff were really helpful but didn’t seem to have any knowledge or interest in recycling of rubbish. The site was kept in great condition. The play area is at the country club/pub which is part of the entrance to the site, fine to let your kids go to on their own. The pub does great food and has entertainment but only later on and for adults. The beach is a short walk away and although has no facilities was busy as night when a great atmosphere was around with families and camp fires etc. The toilet block is excellent although shuts for a long time for cleaning, during which you cant get to the washer/dryer so don’t get caught out. The downside of this site is that food shopping is very limited in this area. It is really necessary to go 18ish miles to Cardigan for anything other than very basics. The site is mid way between Cardigan and Aberystwyth so there are many things to do, my son loved the museum of power but a car is a must. We will be back.

We have just returned from a fortnight at this site.
We enjoyed our week's stay so much last year that we decided to make it two weeks this time around - & we have already booked another week for 2009!
I reviewed this site last year as I was so impressed with the location & facilities so it's just really an update!
The only thing that is different is that the adjoining restaurant appears to have changed hands regarding the running of it.
The menu is still very good & I found the service okay but, as a couple of previous reviews have mentioned, the staff did not seem to cope very well & appeared stressed if there were more than three or four tables dining. Also, they seemed to want everyone finished eating by 9.30pm which I found a bit off putting.
Having said that, it certainly would not put me off coming here in the future.
Hopefully though, the weather will be a bit kinder to us next visit!

We stayed at Cei Bach for a week (3 adults and 4 children)This is a lovely well kept site. We had a warm welcome on arrival, the lady in reception is really friendly. The older two children had a ball as the lovely beach is only 5 mins away and they could go off with their skimming boards. The play area is lovely with seating for adults and the two youngest loved it.
We had great weather and ventured into New Quay on a boat trip to see the dolphins and seals but they seemed to have gone out for the day so we missed them! Still enjoyed the boat trip. We also went to the silver mine which was ok but kids did get a bit bored after the initial trip into the mine(Watch your heads).
This site and surrounding area offered everything for us. The grocers van comes every day and you can purchase bread, milk ect. Butcher also called on site.
The showers were mainly clean, but very frustrating! 7 seconds per button press one day!
We did have a meal at the onsite pub and although the food was nice, the service was terrible(Waiter was pleasant) They didnt appear to be able to cope with the 'rush' 3 tables turned up at once, orders were slow, drink orders forgotten. It was very frustrating. We ordered garlic bread after our meal arrived and was told it would be 10 mins. After 30 the waitress told us the chef had forgotten it and it had burnt, waited another 15 mins to finally get it. Call me grumpy but I was less stressed cooking at the tent for 7.
Dont let my moaning put you off, (Just dont eat at the pub) All in all we had a wonderful holiday here. There were lots of kids and lots of friends were made amongst them.

Just arrived back from a weeks holiday at Cei Bach, we had a wonderful holiday and was very lucky with the weather.
This site is really nice the showers and toilets are spotless and even though the camp was fully booked we never had to wait for the showers.
Good area for washing pots and they have a washing machine & dryer which came in handy.
We ate out twice at the pub on site Thursday night food was fab but the night after the food was not great, we did order later our last night there and they did seemed a bit stressed trying to get all the orders out by 9.30 pm .
We will be going back to this site again soon, we did try to book another week for the end of the school holidays but they are fully booked.

We stayed here for one week at the beginning of June and can't praise it enough.
The site is really well hidden and the approach is very narrow but the directions sent with our booking confirmation were spot on and we had no problems at all.
The site is well laid out with caravan hardstandings around the edge and a big gently sloping field in the middle with well marked pitches and electric points. There are plenty of water points well spaced around the site but they drain onto the grass and it's a bit of a trek up to the toilet block to dispose of grey water properly.
The toilet blocks were clean with plenty of hot water and very good showers and although they didn't have a toddler washroom the owners were happy to let us use the big tin sinks in the laundry room to bathe the kids. The setting is brilliant with the sea in front and the hills behind. The playground outside the pub is very good and will keep the kids entertained while you have a pint. The short walk down to the very quiet Cei Bach beach is an ideal length for younger children as is the adjacent ball park area
We had excellent weather and had a couple of days over on New Quay beach as well.
New Quay is a very nice and as yet unspoilt place, not too commercialised but with everything that you do actually need nearby. The bread and milk van came on site around 10am everyday and there is a pretty good spar shop in town and a couple of really good farm shops if you venture a bit further afield.
We will definitely be visiting again in the future.
