July 2004 You cannot fault this site. Quite superb in every way.W e have been visiting for some years and have NEVER been dissappointed, neither will you. For all the people who have never been to the island you should go and stop at Southland. The climate is very different to the mainland and so is the pace of life. There is only one site to visit,Southland, try it and you will have arrived!

July 2004 Stayed for 4 nights. (Three children - 2, 4 and 6, and two adults. Tent and gazebo.) Had a lovely big pitch with electrics and own water supply. Site is very nicely landscaped and clean. Cannot fault the showerblock / toilets - excellent, they were always really clean and checked regulary. Loads of showers and basin cubicals so no queuing. Two large family showers aswell that the whole family can use (ie. unisex).
Laundry facilities looked good, although didn't use them. Nice shop with basic provisions. Good play area for the children.
Quiet and peaceful at night. Would definately stay there again.

August 2002 and July 2003 We found this site by accident on the net, whilst looking for an alternative to our first choice which was fully booked. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by Viv and Vanessa (site owners). The site itself is beautifully laid out, and the amenities are superb. This is not a site for those looking for non-stop night-life (unless its nature), but as a base for exploring the Island, it is ideal. Our 2 previous visits were with a trailer tent, but having just acquired a caravan, we will be returning in 2005. I would heartily recommend this site.

1993 - present day I've visited the site regularly over many years as my children were growing up and I've always found it well-cared for and with good amenities. Its one of my favourite sites in the UK and I appreciate proper gravel paths and the tall trees acting as windbreaks between pitches.

august 2002 On arrival at this site, first impressions were good, lovely wellkept gardens and borders, the pitches were of a good size and plenty of hook ups available. The pitches were divided off by hedges(six pitches then a hedge) which gave privacy.Plenty of water taps, the laundry and washing up room had good facilities and the toilet/shower block was of a very high standard, all tiled, modern and a bucket and mop outside each shower so that you can clean up after yourself. The shop could have been open at better times but we mainly used the Safeway supermarket 1 1/2 miles away, The rubbish bags were collected twice daily. There is a good childrens play area and a picnic area. If you want a clubhouse or pool then this site is not for you,but we loved it and are returning again this year.
