A very warm, personal welcome from the owners, and then once we had picked out pitch we were given a tour of all the facilities on offer. As stated in some reviews, the pitches are a little on the small side, but our motorhome and awning fitted and we still had room to sit outside if we wanted to. Pitches are level, well drained, and have smooth gravel surface, rock pegs are essential!
Toilets and showers were absolutely spotless at all hours of the day, and when one was closed for cleaning the other was available for use. There is a dog walk on site, but if like our dog yours won't do his business on the lead, you may have a problem. Having said that there is a very quiet country lane at the top of the site where we walked the dog off the lead without any trouble. The site is ideally situated for touring North Norfolk, and a pleasant walk into North Walsham across the fields/park is good.
Adults only, so no kids kicking balls, and running around the pitches, although as some other reviews mention, almost all the people on site while we were there did have dogs, but all were well-behaved and we had no issue with barking.
No road or aircraft noise, VERY quiet and quite dark too after nightfall.
All in all an excellent site, and one we will go back to. Beware if using a Sat-Nav to get you there, our Garmin tried to take us on single track roads and private farm tracks!

This was our second visit the last one being three years ago. The quality is still there with some of the facilities having been upgraded a little.
Very helpful and friendly owners and wardens.
The top field has now been developed into another pitching area (a friend stayed in the Top Acre) which we both thought seemed a bit cramped but the upside is that you can actually receive TV signals up there.
The next layer down called the Panoramic but only has a panoramic view of the caravan roofs below.
Wifi is expensive.
The local pub now does a daily carvery which is very good and very keenly priced.
The site was full when we were there albeit with quite a few closed up seasonal caravans but there was never a queue for loos or showers.

A lovely quiet site. The shower block was extremely clean at all times. T.V. Reception was only possible by using their satellite system, so just using the Status aerial was not possible. We found the pitches a good size and our caravan is 23' long!
There was ample room for caravan, awning, car and to sit out in the sun. We were helped onto our pitch and someone came and set up the t.V. For us using their system. There are some seasonal pitches there, but as it was September, we did not notice apart from one party that took place in an awning!
All in all, a lovely site.

Lets start the review by saying we are back again this weekend (mid sept 2010) so that speaks volumes in itself!.
We love the site from the very friendly welcome from Ray and Barbara the owners, to the wardens.
We had a lovely level pitch with plenty of space and yet close enough to be friendly with our neighbours,as others have said the site is on three levels none of which overlook the ones underneath,
The toilets, showers and general facilities associated with a pleasant stay were always spotlessly clean and warm too. There is a lounge if you want to watch a bit of tv and cant be bothered setting up etc, all very comfortable indeed,
If I were a bit pedantic the time switch on the shower takes a bit of getting used to but it isnt too much of a problem.
The area is nice and peaceful with lots to do and see nearby, plenty of pubs (make your own mind up about food as we all differ!) Horsey beach is delightful if you have dogs, its not far and they can run for miles on golden sands stretching for miles with so few people to.

The site was lovely, the wardens are really friendly and made you feel very welcome. There are plenty of places to visit nearby and they have a good information / TV room (Closes at 10pm).
All pitches are hard standing (pebbles)- so if you have a tent, take really strong pegs as most of mine had buckled due the the ground being so hard oh and a kneeling pad!. The site is located on a hill but all the three levels are flat (like giant steps going up the hill).
The lower shower / toilet block is great, even plays music while you're there. The middle level looks newer but it's smaller and there is no block on the upper level which is a shame, I'm sure in time they will put one up there.
If you are a tent owner you may want to consider asking for a lower level pitch as it gets mighty windy on the top level and there's no protection. They have planted many trees and shrubs, so in about 10 years time the upper level will be more sheltered.
They have many seasonal caravans there, and the people who stay there during the season are very friendly.
The site is generally peaceful, but I must warn you that the hotel across the road plays loud music every Saturday until about 11.30pm. If you can get past that one day the rest of the week will make up for it!

We received a great welcome and were taken to our pitch. They were very specific about how and where to park. The shower / toilet block was very clean but we often found ourselves queueing.
In a tent you experience some road noise but not too much. Most campers there appear to be regulars and lots of them have known each other for years. It's a great location for exploring central Norfolk.

Lovely site. The staff very friendly and the facilities clean and very well kept. Dog walk very useful although the local lanes at the back of the site are quiet enough for a walk as well.
I am not sure what makes this a 5 star site as it really is not any different to most 3 stars I have stayed at. I do give them 10 out of 10 for getting the most pitches on site. The pitches are small, by the time you have the van, awning and car there is not really any other space to sit out on. They could do with visiting a site like Dower House to see what spacious pitches are like.
Despite the size of pitches overall it is a nice site that I would visit again. Ideal if you want to visit the broads or the coast which is also nearby

Had a very quite weekend the warders were first class, offered tea or coffee on booking in. We were then shown to our pitch and helped to reverse in. Tv signal poor but were able to hire a satellite receiver box to get a picture off their dishes. It makes a good base to tour the Norfolk broads and coast the shower blocks are heated and spotless there is a tv room with tea and coffee making. I found it an excellent site and will return again

Just returned from this first class site having spent two weeks on one of their super pitches.
The standards maintained on this site are brilliant.
The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate, the staff are both friendly and helpful (even welcoming you with a refreshing cuppa on arrival).
Would recommend this site to anyone wanting a relaxing and peaceful break.
Thanks to all the staff and owners.

Great adult only site. This this a beautifully kept site. The shower & toilet blocks are very clean & well maintained. There is a little shop on site (stocked with just the basics). It is situated just down the road from North Walsham which has a good choice of shops & there is a nice restaurant / hotel just across the road which serves some great food. On the down side you will struggle to pick up a TV signal (but they do rent satellite connection) & there is not many shower blocks for the amount of pitches, Regardless still a nice site
