This is a Best of British site and it provides for every taste within the camping and caravanning fraternity, from top of the range full service pitches with hard standings, to basic grass only pitches.

Uniquely within the site there is a Caravan Club CL with huge full service pitches inc. tv hook up. These pitches are only available to CC members and, like the rest of the site are beautifully maintained.

The brochure doesn't tell you that two of these pitches - 'Bluebell' and 'Primrose' - have quite a profound slope to them and if on either of these, levelling aids are absolutely essential. You will also need strong steel pegs.

On site there is an internet room available for £1.50 for 20 minutes and a shop providing for basic needs. The nearest big supermarket is Morrisons in Fakenham, about 6 miles away.

Toilet facilities are superb and kept impeccably.

Arrival time is strictly enforced at not before 1330. This is due to the fact that the lane from the main road to the site is very narrow. Departure time of 1100 is also strictly enforced so that there isn't any embarrassing confrontations in the narrow lane.

All in all this is a gem of a site which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This was our first visit to Norfolk and we were delighted with the campsite.

It was ideally situated for visiting the north Norfolk coast.

On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly owners and given a ‘Welcome Pack’ with map and history of the site, list of site rules and information concerning Dr’s, dentists, hospital and vets. It also contained menus for the restaurant.

We were on once of the three Super pitches for tents and trailer tents. The pitch was hard standing shingle and was separated from the main camping filed by a wooden fence. The pitch was huge and fitted our tent and car on with plenty of space to spare. There was a very slight slope to the pitch. In front of our pitch was a large grass area for us to ‘play’ on and yards of space between us and the next pitch.

The site itself is on three levels and there are mature shrubs and tress throughout the site. It has wonderful landscaping with a fishing lake in the middle.

The toilets and showers are excellent and were spotlessly clean. In main block, that we use, there are three showers, three loos and I think 4 curtained hand basins. There is also a built in baby bath with changing surface and free hairdryer. There are two other toilet blocks, one for CL users only with it’s own laundry and one at the lower end of the site.

The games room has a pool table and table tennis. You can hire bat and ball from the shop £1 a time. There is also a colour TV in the games room. There is also an internet room.

The restaurant was open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the food is lovely and very filling.

There is an information room packed with leaflets, maps and ideas of things to do.

The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. It stocks local produce and you can buy free range eggs. You are also able to order newspapers and fresshbread daily.

There is an Adult Only area for tents in a secluded spot at the back of the site, however there is no EHU here.

The main camping filed does not have EHU either and appeared to be quite uneven in places, but this was well used and busy. The pitches appear to be a good size. No tents over 6 metres in size are allowed on the site and no large parties either. If you have any visitors you have to notify the owners and pay £1. This money goes to charity.

Fakenham, the nearest large town has a very good shopping area, with a camping shop and Tesco and Morrisons. There are two petrol stations on the main road near to the site.

The nearest large beach to the site is Sherringham (15 mins drive away) and Cromer is a little further on (20 mins drive) A visit to Blackney take a boat trip to see the seals is a must. 1 hr trip cost £8.00. There are lots of harbours around the coast, Wells Next To The Sea was a picture postcard town where a crab line and bucket is a must have. There is also a large caravan and camping accessory shop just outside the town.

This site, for us, was just perfect.

Have just returned from The Old Brick Kilns we stayed there for four nights after attending the Caravan Club National Rally at Holkham Hall.

What a lovely site, nicely laid out, the facilities were excellent nice shower block plenty of hot water. Washing machine a little expensive at £5.00 per wash and 60p for 15mins in the tumble dryer, you would need 3 tokens to get the washing dry.

The Site also offers a lovely little restaurant which was only open two of the nights we were there, however they served a lovely fish & chip supper(£5.95)on the Wednesday night.

I feel awful writing anything negative about this site but there were a few things I was unhappy with firstly was the long narrow road to get the site, this narrow road is the only way in and out and you are a little in the middle of nowhere! it's a long walk up to the main road to catch the bus! I can now understand why you have arrive after 1.00pm and have to leave by 11.00am on day of departure because you would not want to meet anyone coming the other way when towing!

Secondly I was unhappy were the children's play park was located as the children had to walk across the car park to access it.

Would I go back - Yes, if I was every in Norfolk again.

Sadly for the owners of this campsite the foul weather had turned a great deal of this site into a very muddy and wet place with most of the grass areas churned up by vehicles.

The owner was out constantly to help anyone who was stuck and was always on hand, with a smile, at the first sign of anyone needing help.

Sadly we did not see this site at its best.

Some of the pitches require you to drive over grass to get to a hardstanding so anyone with a sizeable Motorhome would struggle unless the ground was bone dry.

The CL has one Motorhome suitable pitch the rest are situated across a meadow which involves a long drive over grass.

The restaurant was full the night we arrived and was not due to open until five days later so we did not get the chance to sample the food.

Some very nice walks in the area but not a great deal else, there are no pubs/restaurants/shops or coffee shops in the two local villages.

You really need to drive from this site to find anywhere to eat or drink.

One of the toilet blocks was nice and warm and clean, the smaller one was chilly and grubby.

Quite expensive, the CL was £25 per night over Easter!

We hope the sites recovers from the results of the recent foul weather.

We stayed at this site for a weekend in August and found it  very nice & clean. The pitch for our caravan was spacious with plenty of room for the kids to play.
We didn't use the restaurant as it seemed a little bit stuffy and formal for the children. They would do better by also providing a snack bar type kiosk, perhaps?
The surrounding area was peaceful with good walking areas available. Great place for relaxing.
Toilets/showers were excellent. All round the site was well maintained and staff helpful and friendly.
Slight downside was the cost of the pitch. Standard pitch with hook up for two nights was £45.00. . A tad expensive I thought, but I suppose it was high season.
I'd be happy to recommend this site to anyone.

We had ten lovely nights at this campsite. We booked one of the premier tent pitches as our tent is so big (they only have three) but they are hard standing and we have never pitched on stone before. But the amount of space you have is great. After walking all round the park we found that there were enough toilet facilities which were clean and i liked the idea of having a shower curtain around the sink so you can have a wash in private, and you weren't far from one where ever you were pitched.
The play park was basic but my kids made friends there and had fun. We didn't use the restaurant but the take away was good value for money. You have to travel in your car if you want to go out for the day as you are a bit in the back and beyond but that also means its not really noisy and as most of the people have kids you don't get a lot of noise at night .
The owners I found were very nice they were quite strict that you could only drive the car on and off once a day and if you came back you had to park in the car park but I found that a good thing as your kids could play and weren't looking out for cars all the time on the whole we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back.

We've just come back after 10 days in the Old Brick Kilns - and we had a great time.  After the first sunny day, the heavens poured - so much so our awning was flooded and out of action for most of the time we were there!  And fair play the owner came over to see that we were ok and if anything was damaged. We thought the site was lovely, and our children (5 and 6yrs old loved it also).  Our pitch was close to the second toilet block and had a lawned play area in front of us which was great for watching the children and the odd spot of badminton!
If we had to be picky - the children's play area didn't appeal that much, and possibly could have done with more showers (I went for one last night at about 8pm and they were empty.  By the time I came out 10 mins later there was a queue of approx. 4 ladies!).  We would definitely go back and encourage anybody else to visit.  We had a great time - despite the rain!

Thank you very much Old Brick Kilns, or as we say in Wales, diolch yn fawr I chi!

Fantastic site. Given pitch in adult only area, hardstanding large enough for our little demountable and table and chairs and plenty of space between pitches.
Quite a long narrow lane to negotiate every time you go out in a vehicle. Facilities were all pristine although I wasn't too keen on the wire covered wooden steps down to the nearest toilets - you couldn't afford to be in too much of a hurry in the wet weather! I never used the shower (singular) in that block as I felt it likey that I'd have to queue, instead I queued in the heated main block! I suppose it was peak time and the site was nearly full.
The owners were friendly and helpful, made you feel welcome by remembering your name and chatting to you; they never seemed to stop working. We will cdertainly recommend and return.

This was our 2nd visit to this site. First visited last July for a glorious sunny week, and we were so impressed that we had to return. The staff are very friendly, the facilities are good and clean, the site is safe for children to play and ride bikes, although the kids (3,5 and 8) weren't very impressed with the playground! We stayed for 7 nights this year on one of the serviced tent pitches on the lower part of the site, following horrendously wet weather, and found this area to be waterlogged - literally ankle deep on some of the caravan pitches. As soon as the water appeared to be drying up another downpour would ensure fresh flooding. I appreciate that the weather has been exceptional this summer(!), but on any future visits I would ensure we were on the camping field, which is higher and drier. Sogginess aside, this is easily the best campsite we have visited in 3 years of camping and numerous camping trips. Great centre for visiting most of the attractions on the north Norfolk coast.

Hi, just spent the kids whit week here and what can I say- what a lovely site! British weather let us down over the weekend but that was out of their control!, It is a lovely site with very spacious pitches,. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent and sone of the best we have seen . the lilttle touches like the underfloor heating make all the difference not only to your tooties but also help to dry the floor quickly. Excellent laundry facilites and the reception sells everything you could want, including fresh baked baguettes and croissants in the mornings. There is a small room for ther kids with a table tennis table, pool table and small tv. Also a restaurant with a bar area. we didnt eat here but the food looked fantastic. A good selection of bottled beers available from the bar!.
There is a playarea for the children as well as a small pond to fish in for a small fee. The children enjoyed seeing the rabbits that run around and the ducks, especially when they were swimming on the grass next to our caravan on the first weekend!- british weather for you!
The 2 guys even supplied me with sockets sets to fix my sons puncture!
I would recommend this site to anyone, keep up the good work.
