This is an excellent campsite. The owners are very friendly and the site is in a beautiful and quiet part of England, although it is also very close to the Welsh border. The facilities are of a high standard but they are 'unobtrusive'. Instead of building a hideous brand new block the owners have converted parts of existing buildings into two shower rooms and a useful kitchen. One of the key features of Middle Woodbatch is the lack of caravans. I realise that a lot of the people who use www.ukcampsite.co.uk own caravans, but there are many tent campers who prefer sites that don't allow them. Another thing worth bearing in mind is that this is a working farm with lots of animals and activity. The site is located a fair old trek from Bishop's Castle, with the walking taking easily 30 minutes. However, the owners are generous with lifts into town. The pubs in Bishop's Castle are absolutely superb and the town is a delight to see. Overall this is a great place to camp, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. 9.5 out of 10.

This was definitely one of our favourite camping experiences. The farm is in an idyllic location with beautiful views over surrounding countryside across to the Stretton Hills and Long Mynd. It is a peaceful site, with just the sound of birds, the animals and the odd tractor, and well away from roads. Camping on a working farm was a great way to experience the real countryside, unlike some of the more manicured campsites, which although pretty can sometimes seem a little sterile. The farm has cows, sheep, chickens a sheepdog, horse, and an enormous pig! One day during our stay the sheep were being sheared and we had great fun helping to heard them back to their fields. There are some lovely walks and bridleways from the farm and we spotted a badger while strolling in the woods. Mary and Steve were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The facilities are very clean (despite all the mud from the wet weather we had) and modern with bathrooms with showers and a useful kitchen. At the time we stayed the farmhouse was being renovated to provide bed-and-breakfast accommodation, which would be great out of season or if you don’t fancy camping. We stayed for five nights and despite the wet weather were never bored. We will definitely be back and would heartily recommend this site to everyone.

This campsite is absolutely wonderful, we stayed for two nights but could have stayed forever. The toilets and showers were excellent, and the owners were lovely and couldnt do enough to make us feel at home, literally! what sets this campsite apart from others is it is an actual working farm and the owners are only too pleased to introduce you to the animals and made lots of time to chat and share information, you must ask about the clun cowboy! This site is a must for everybody to stay, particularly those with children and those who enjoy good country walks. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Location was beautiful with spectacular views. Campsite is on a working farm and the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were shown around the farm and Mary and Steve took time to answer all our questions and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Facilities were great, with kitchen ,showers and toilet which were pristine. We took the option of a home cooked breakfast which was enormous and mouthwatering and great value for money.

We've just spent a wonderful weekend in one of the most scenic campsites we've ever stayed at. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Showers and toilets were excellent, very spacious and kept beautifully clean (well as clean as was humanly possible in heavy rain on a farm). Very slight downside for us was the pitches were on a slope, but we were told there were plans for improvements - we look forward to seeing the changes when we return next year. Bishops Castle is a lovely little town which contains plenty of places to eat and drink, and only a few minutes away. Ludlow is futher but well worth a visit. A gem of a site!

Had extremely good stay here. The people are very friendly and helpful. The site is wonderfully peaceful. Our grandchildren had the time of their lives, very child friendly environment, with animals and open space to run free (and tire themselves out) The area is good for walking and sight -seeing. The views from the campsite are to "die for", with clear un-interrupted views of the picturesque Shropshire hills and valleys. At the time we visited, the access to this working farm was a little difficult for the average car, as the drive had been washed away by a flash flood, but the proprietors said they were working on it and intended to improve it for the 2007 season. Also at that time the toilet facilities consisted of a chemical toilet, but this was regularly emptied and very clean, again the proprietors had planned a new toilet block for 2007. The nearby town of Bishops castle is a quaint friendly little town which offers a good range of "large town" facilities, shops, supermarkets, pubs, cafes & restaurants etc. The farm is an ideal central base from which to explore the surrounding area, whatever your favourite things are, there is plenty to see and do. Over all - we thoroughly recommend this site and will certainly be using it again.

What a great place! It's directly on the Shropshire Way and ideal for walkers who don't want the spell of the countryside to be broken. The owners are genuinely hospitable and open, the views are superb. Bishops Castle itself is quirky and alive, with lots of places to eat or potter around. The reviews so far have described it well. We certainly hope to come again!

The particulars on the site are described exactly right, the welcome was indeed warm and the site itself was exactly as imagined. The facilities are more than adequate (even with two kids) and the scenery is outstanding. There is lots to do in the vicinity and Mary and Steve made us feel as though we were a part of the place for the short time we were there, showing us around the farm and introducing us to their animals. They were happy to answer any questions we had and offered us interesting suggestions about where to walk to get the most from the local wildlife. We will defenitely be going back for a longer stay to try and get the most out of what is a fantastic place.

The warm welcome began during my first phone call to the owners, they were helpful and accommodating to any of the questions I asked. This continued upon my arrival up the long winding country lane. That night I spent several hours in the farmhouse having a chat with my hosts about all matters countryside. A wonderful first evening. The campsite is isolated, yet not remote (Bishops Castle is just up the road), with an abundance of wildlife and fantastic views. In my two days here I saw three fox's, badgers & deer as well as several buzzards. The campsite is quiet and only interrupted by the sounds of the country, you can not hear road traffic or planes. A truly idyllic spot run by genuinely friendly and welcoming hosts. I will back again - soon!
