Lovely quiet site, absolutely immaculate.
Can walk into Belper in 35-40 mins.
We caught the bus back - stops outside the site.
We used it as a stopover on our route north but would happily stay longer.

This is a well kept site, toilets are spotless and information area is the best we have seen.
The site is split into two parts. The pitches near the road on the top site can be noisy. The pitches on the bottom site suffer from noisy trains day and night. There isn't a play park on site if you are going with children.
Follow the club directions as the other routes are challenging. Plenty of pubs to choose from in the area, but not great for walking to, busy roads and no pavements.
The site is on the edge of the peak district so be prepared to travel to some of the attractions.

Nice site, very clean and kept well, and quiet.
Nice to see a dedicated dog wash area, as well as a baby and toddler room with bath.
However, no play area for children.
The pitch we were on was a serviced pitch, however the services all seemed to be the wrong side of the fences, so it was a little difficult to use them.

Was our first visit to The Firs, what a gem of a site.
Well managed, extremely tidy, clean facilities, and helpful and happy wardens.
The Lady warden recommended good walks, pubs and and transportation links during our stay, it was so refreshing to have someone who really went out their way to be sure you had enjoyable stay.
This is one site we will return too

An enjoyable stay. Only a select number of pitches have the views.
£32pn.
To get to Derby and elsewhere you have to catch a bus to Belper and these are not frequent. From Belper it's a lot easier.
Friendly and helpful staff

Good location in the Peak District. Wardens were helpful and really made a great start to the holiday.
Toilets very clean.
No facilities for children so was really quiet and peaceful.
Great walks for dogs but you had to walk down the side of a busy road to get to them.
We will visit again.

Our first time at this site but it won't be our last, it was recommended to us by a family member who goes regularly.
It's a fairly small but immaculate site with large mostly sunny pitches with manicured lawns whos pitches which were out of use due to the weather, however, an extra 6 grass pitches had just been converted to hard standing during our stay, therefore there is more chance of getting a suitable pitch now in inclement weather.
The site is split into two separate areas, the lower one has the motorhome drain/fill facility.
The wardens were lovely, friendly and helpful, they have added so many little touches of their own that make all the difference, from the plants in the toilets and elsewhere, to the bird tables all around, plus the Information room and spare toilet are a joy to behold, others sites should take note.
Some pitches have beautiful views overlooking the Derwent valley however, the ones nearest to the road can be a bit noisy at busy times.
The dog walk is located at the far end of the lower site and is accessed down a pretty slippery slope when it rains, because its clay based soil and often in shade.
It's such a pity that an extra couple of tons of chatter had not been ordered when they did the hardstanding bases, then spread down this track, it would have made a big difference to those who use it.

We liked the location, it had lovely views and beautiful surrounding countryside.
The site and on pitch facilities were excellent.
We did not like being surrounded by barking dogs.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly.

Lovely clean site, friendly, helpful staff, there is a dog walk with dog waste bin provided close by, despite this someone had let their ( obviously large) dog foul the grass close to the bin, very unfair to fellow members imho. Stunning views and countryside all around, it really is a country retreat.
The walk to the nearest pub ( Fisherman’s Rest) less than a mile away, partly quite steep on the way back. It was a bit hairy as most of the time there isn’t a footpath, despite this we received a warm welcome, lots of local people in there which says it all, the food and service excellent, best steak we’d had in a while.
The menu said it was a limited choice but there is surely something for everyone, hard to choose, locally produced where possible. Good choice of drinks and guest beers, lovely country pub. NB they also do takeaway including fish and chips and pizzas.
Next day discovering the area on foot, the walk to Belper is not good, for the first over a mile there is no footpath, it is just grass verge so pretty scary, the cars are very fast and close, once you get on the path it is ok and Belper has a good choice of shops, pubs and eating places.
Caught the bus back which drops off at the gates of the site. If you go left out of the entrance towards Heage you will find beautiful countryside and footpaths. Plenty to see and do nearby.

This site has the loveliest wardens you will ever find. It is quiet, peaceful and well kept.
We walked into Belper. The road doesn't have a path for the first half mile, but the verges are wide enough to walk on. Not sure how good it would be with dogs or children. Called at The Fisherman's Rest for a drink to help us up the hill back to the site. Food looked very good.
Perfect site for a relaxing break.
