This is our third visit to Greenhills, as usual a warm friendly greeting on arrival,
Facilities blocks were spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the site.
In an ideal world all sites will be as well presented & welcoming as Greenhills.
Easy walk into Bakewell, a lovely little town with a great market on Mondays.

Great site, friendly staff, & superb facilities could not find any fault.
The only problem we had was with local taxis, got a taxi into Bakewell, but none available for return journey and with a 90 & 91 year olds getting a bus then having to walk back to site was difficult

Stayed here a Saturday & Sunday night. The site was virtually full but we had an adequate hard standing pitch with room for an awning. On site there are two toilet blocks one with only 3 showers toilets the other with more.
Good washing laundry facilities. Waste was a skip not much recycling. Easy access although strictly no arrivals before 1 clock. There is a bar on site, no food but a pizza oven on Friday eve.
Good dog walking field which is secure. It’s a ten minute walk to Aldi a further 5 into Bakewell where there is a good selection of shops eateries. The wee dram whiskey shop has a few unusual malts. Tourist information very helpful.
A short distance by car or bus (walk Approx 7. 5miles return) to Chatsworth house or go to Buxton for alternative days out. Thorn bridge brewery is situated behind Aldi gave good selection ales and pizzas (dog friendly).
Turning left out of the site it’s a ten minute walk into the pretty village of Ashford in the water. You can also head towards Bakewell then turn back on yourself to take the riverside walk across pastures to here.
The Bulls head remains open serving good food and is dog friendly.
Would recommend as a good site wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.

Good points: some good facilities, bar, shop, games room. Location near Bakewell is good.
Now for the bad: pitches for tents are very slopey. Couldn’t sleep at all feeling like we would roll downhill.
Pitches are v small. We couldn’t put out guide ropes on a 6m tent. They basically cram too many pitches into a small space so youre all on top of other guests and can hear everything in HD. Some groups were really loud. Traffic noise is bad.
All in all was a really uncomfortable experience sorry to say.
