Great little site, very pleasant welcome, told to pitch anywhere,
Toilets are basic but clean, shower functional, yes the cabin needs updating, but they serve the purpose.
Fridge and freezer were a useful asset, as is the washing up area, piping hot water.
The proximity of the local supermarket was good, a 15 minute walk, if that.
Lots of local attractions, Newby Hall and gardens a must, fantastic hall and knowledgable staff.
Boroughbridge a little quiet, but Knaresborough is lovely.
Ripon, Harrogate near by.
Didn't get to do much walking because of the rain.
Only down side was the wet, and that couldn't be helped, who would have thought it was July, horizontal rain, but the ground was level, and well drained, and no mud.
I had to cut short my trip, due to a medical appointment, but am looking to come back later this month.

Perhaps we should have realised that the last posted feedback was 2014 and their website was still advertising the Tour De Yorkshire … But due to its location we booked anyway. Firstly the positives … Great Location, easy to find, and a well laid out site. Its all down hill from there … Dated toilet blocks we can accept but filthy is unacceptable. In the Gents – When we arrived on Sunday …the floor was not brushed or mopped and remained that way all week. The mop was black and filthy and sat in its bucket all week. The “Caution Wet Floor” sign stayed tucked redundant behind the flip top bin. My first shower on Sunday – Most of my 50p was used rinsing out the shower tray prior to using it. I removed a discarded shower gel bottle and placed in the once white small flip top bin in the shower cubicle… after having drawn a cross in the dust on the top of the bin. Which was still there on Friday … I used my foot to flip the lid to dispose of my 2 ear buds. My entire weeks worth of ear buds and the shower gel bottle were still there on Friday.
I don’t wish to be a health & safety geek here but the Gents was left in total darkness at night until I discovered the 5amp pull switch had been replaced with a standard 5amp wall light switch fitted to a pattress on the ceiling !. I can only assume those under 5ft 8 inches are not supposed to use the toilets during the hours of darkness
Perhaps the owners may be offended by our feedback. But to sit back, take the cash, (this is not a cheap site) reap the financial rewards and not even clean up deserves no better … My advise to other UKCampsite Members is that there are lots of Campsites in the area to choose from and I suggest you try them and leave this one to the workmen who seem to use it as a cheap alternative to B&B in their Caravans. Such a shame but we will never return. I encourage other members to air their views to protect ourselves from poorly maintained sites. Our Holiday breaks and weekends are few and should be enjoyed not just tolerated.

Visited this site as a stopover as it is very near the A1. It's in the centre of Minskip and if you make a note of the owner's directions you can't really miss it but you will still need to look carefully for the sign. The owner was very friendly and at £12 a night including EHU it was a bargain. The facilities are basic but clean and there is plenty of space. The village itself is unremarkable but there is a one mile walk just a short walk from the site. We would definitely stay again.

We booked early for 'Le Grand Depart', (16 months early) and weren't disappointed. We expected full to the brim but were pleasantly surprised by the space, even with three other families who were later in booking who could be accommodated next to us with no fuss. The toilets and facilities on a busy weekend were clean and tidy. The owners couldn't do enough for everyone. Great, simple, uncompromising site with all you need and nothing you don't.
For decent food try The Mason's Arms in Bishop Monkton, recommended by the site and well worth the wee drive out

Lovely site with unmarked pitches allowing you to choose where you wanted to pitch. Very peaceful site (only just heard slight hum from A1 now and then). Very basic toilet/ shower facilities which could do with updating, but would return here again. The owner was on hand checking all ok without being intrusive. Freezer facilities available in small reception area. Not much for children to play on apart from a rope swing

I have stayed at this site twice and intend to go back many more times. The site is flat and grassy, perfect for throwing down a towel and sunbathing. The dog off lead area at the end of the field is fantastic for furry campers. Everyone friendly at the site but its big enough that you have your own camping space. Morrison supermarket about a mile and half walk away, but there is a great farm shop en route too. The owner of the site is extremely hard working and very comical, a very great welcome. The fire pits he has made out of old oil drums add to the camping experience, and the wood we bought kept us warm all evening while eating roast marshmallow. Ripon not far away if you need a coffee shop fix. A great campsite, great facilities, easy to find and worth every penny.

I spent a solo camping weekend here with my blind greyhound.
Toilets were clean, also a new ladies shower and toilet block were being built. There is also a ladies shower in the main reception, equally as clean and tidy.
Washing up area is in an outbuilding, washing up basins provided, water is piping hot. In the same area is a fridge freezer for campers to use.
Campsite is large and pitches are spacious, ground drains supremely well after a prolific downpour.
Owners are extremely helpful, always asking if things are ok and make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Dog field is available for off lead exercise.
Morrison's not far away, also Boroughbridge is a nice walk into, with shops, butcher's, cafe etc.
I am in the caravan and Camping Club so for myself it's £7 a night. Bargain.
At Night you can hear owls in abundance, and in clear nights due to low light pollution the stars are amazing.

Stayed with my wife for one night at the end of August. We liked everything about the site. Good toilet and shower facilities, even pitch and good access. Nice and quiet at night with no rowdiness. Good shelter from the hedges at both sides. I liked the 3 hens, which came around when they saw us eating.
Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Knaresborough and York well worth a visit.
We would not visit the local pub again, the White Swan, which was in need of decoration. At first there were a group of locals in, holding a village meeting. After they left, we were the only ones in. The owner moaned to us for about an hour how no one goes in there and villagers would rather go to a pub in the next town. At 10pm we decided to have another drink but the owner said he was closing the pub as it wasn't worth the electricity to keep the lights on!

The site is well situated not far from the A1 close to Leeds, York, Harrogate, Ripon etc. So there is plenty to do! It is about 2 minutes drive to a nice big Morrisons store where you can shop. The village of Minskip has a nice farm shop on the outskirts which does nice meat for BBQ's. The pitches are nice and big I have an eight man family tent which fitted in the pitch nicely. The owners seem nice people. My two criticisms are the background hum from the A1 which while not being terrible reminds you that you are reasonably close to a main road, however its not a deal breaker. The toilet and shower area needs a massive amount of attention (removed and rebuilt basically!) it is really shoddy. It was also not kept as clean as it should have been! (More elbow grease required). I would return to the site but only after the facilities have been upgraded. Its worth a stop because of where it is but be prepared to rough it with the toilets.
