Booked this site for a trip with 2 teenage grandkids. Yes a bit scruffy with old caravans scattered about. Our pitch was very big and just behind the 2nd exit gate thank goodness because of what was going on in the middle of the site there were a few caravaners grouped together who started being loud at about 4pm and continued till midnight. We might have been unlucky but I overheard them arranging they're next meet up there.
Facilities very good, clean and despite being busy no queues. Park area good for younger kids, swimming pool was busy the whole time so a bonus for families.
Ate at the pub once and also had a takeaway, food reasonably priced and good for the price. Had to order through an app which was a pain as I couldn't log on, but once I was told the pubs wifi it was OK.
Wasn't given any info when we arrived about wifi, no noise after 10pm etc but were told where all the facilities were.
Overall good for younger families, seems very safe for kids, you can walk dog in the rally field or walk into village where there is a small park behind the church.
Friendly staff and cannot fault facilities and pitch sizes. You need a card to swipe for toilets, shower etc and the barriers, £3. 50 which is refundable, also there is no set booking in time or leaving time which is a bonus.

Cheap & cheerful 😊
Was a little worried after reading some reviews but don’t go expecting a Haven site for the money you pay!
On arrival the pub car park doesn’t look very inviting but get past first impressions & it’s fine. Inside the pub is a bit dated but it was clean. All staff were very friendly & happy to help you. Mark showed us to our pitch, very friendly & always joking & I think it was Dougie that helped position our van.
Our pitch was fine, next to our friends & near the park as we had requested. We wondered if we’d done the right thing booking near the park but no children were out making noise past 10pm whilst we were there. We went Thursday to Sunday & the only noisy night was Saturday which I think was from the pub. The worst bit of this was the drunk people walking back to their tent or caravan being loud & not respecting other people.
The pool is great for the kids & is run really well having a booking system. Often saw the chemicals being checked & the pool area being cleaned.
We had tea at the pub which was all cooked fresh & it was lovely. Cajun chicken kebab was delicious
The bin areas were over flowing on arrival but these were emptied the following day.
Toilet & shower block need a deep clean / updating - dirty vents, Cobwebs, marks on ceilings & walls etc but overall they were clean & always had soap & toilet roll. The showers were nice & powerful. We saw them being cleaned daily around mid day.
No plug in the washing up sinks & often left with food waste in the sink & around the area. This should be cleaned after the person who last used it so not really a fault of the site.
We enjoyed our few days here. A bit of a random site with no strict rules like some sites. Like I said earlier, get past the first impressions, remember the price you’re paying & don’t expect a Haven site then hopefully, you’ll have a good break too

Arrived and were instantly checked in and shown to our pitch, which the owners were very laid back about, lots of space and privacy.
Very friendly staff who were very accommodating and overall helpful and kind.
Great services with a stocked bar, food was excellent and really good value,
Highly recommend staying here, very family friendly, a lot of facilities and great staff

Larger than expected. We wouldn’t go back.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The site was very busy. We didn’t use any of the additional facilities as felt the other campers weren’t following social distancing guidelines. The site rules handed out on arrival state it’s a quiet site between 11pm & 8am. One the two night we stayed music from fellow campers was normally off by 11:30pm however multiple groups were oblivious to their environment. Chatting very loudly until gone 1am another group playing football till 1:30am both only stopping when asked.
My scores are based on the site not the other campers

Chose this site as a getaway for me and my husband. This is not a well manicured pristine site, and a bit off the beaten trail, but it is a very welcoming one! The pitches are more than adequate the people who work here, extremely helpful without being in your face, the facilities are great! Swimming pool is very welcoming and the hot tub?? Oh my word! BLISS!
The pub provides good food and really reasonable prices and the portions aren’t small either.
Whilst we were there there was an incident with someone camping there, lots of shouting and colourful language but the staff handled it perfectly. Showers are free and lovely. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Very welcoming. Clean and basic. Flat pitches. We were a group of 23 adults. 6 children and 7 dogs. Pool on site. Great food in pub on site. Hot water in free showers. Had some noisy neighbours but the site were on that as quick as it took him to walk from the pub. Approx 1 min.
A few tweaks here and there and will be a very good site. It's not 5star. But not are the prices. I always say you get what you pay for but we got more and I was pleasantly surprised.
Will be returning

Visited this site over bank holiday unfortunately there was a lot of rain arrived Friday evening in the dark no lights on site made it a bit difficult to pitch up. We had visited this site a couple of years ago when the owners had just taken over. There is a slight improvement to the toilet and showers but everything looks unfinished The showers were nice and hot and powerful in nice cubicles. The site was very busy the toilets and showers got in a mess they needed cleaning more often. Only 4 showers for a very busy site was a bit grim. It was quite noisy
Plenty for children to do large play area and another new addition a small outdoor swimming pool. Large outdoor seating area to pub and great pub grub and take away Good beer pool table and amusement arcade all dog friendly.
Nothing in walking distance from site

Stayed for 1 night to test out our newly acquired old motorhome. The site still looks 'under construction' with mounds of soil and unfinished tracks and when we arrived there was a huge pile of overflowing rubbish (we were there just after busy Easter period which may explain excessive rubbish).
We pitched on a large, flat field with plenty of EHU points. This may be a bit tricky in wet weather but fine for our night. We saw a water point with hose on the way to the toilets. The ladies toilets were very clean with plenty of loo paper although the taps were hard to push and only stayed on for a few seconds. There was also a laundry room and showers which we didn't use. The pub served pub grub at reasonable price and the staff were friendly, as were the locals. My OH was happy as they served 'decent beer'.
We enjoyed a pleasant night there and although it looks a bit ramshackle (we quite like that)I think once the improvements are completed it will look a lot smarter. It seems to be in a remote location with little in walking distance however we weren't there long enough to explore further afield.

Very basic site. The pub food was excellent and excellent value for money! Speaking to the owner whilst waiting for our food he told us that they had only been there for 2 years, which would explain why it looked like a building site in places.
The whole campsite is in the middle of being improved. The toilets and shower facilities are modern (apart from the gents as they aren't finished yet) and are very clean. My girlfriend said the showers were the best she had ever used. We will definitely go back to the campsite in the future, especially when the improvements have been finished.
Highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a cheap and quiet site for a weekend away.
