Just spent the East bank holiday here. Lovely site, well kept, majority of pitches are of a good size. The staff never seemed to stop especially the warden who seemed to be about all the time.
Pretty quiet even though it appeared to be full. I know some people would like to see a children's play area but personally I thinks it would spoil it. Noticed that there was quite a few that took the opportunity to go fishing.
On site there are three shower blocks with two new ones which only opened within the last week. Showers didn't drain well in ours and on the last morning they were cold. However, I got into conversation one morning with the warden and the draining problem was promptly sorted. As for the cold showers I mentioned this upon leaving and was immediately apologised to for the problem. It's something to do with the thermostat not coping with the amount of hot water being used. Teething problems I'm sure and it certainly wont stop us from going again.
According to hubby Canada Geese a bit noisy at half four in the morning - personally I didn't hear them (ear plugs are wonderful things!)
Woodhall Spa 15 - 20 minutes walk - depending on how fast a walker you are. Papworths butcher has an excellent choice for barbeques - have been to this butcher several times and we have never been disappointed. Never disappointed with the wonderful cake shop either!

Just had a short stay at Woodland Country park. What a great site this is.Wardens were very friendly and hard working nothing was too much trouble they never stopped.
Toilets and showers were immaculate and modern. Pitches well looked after and level. Tents were also sheltered in the trees.
Lots of nice woodland walks and three fishing lakes.Lovely well looked after site and area. Will definitely be returning.
Only down side is no shop or play area.

We will definitely be using this site again, warden was really friendly and hard working, he even watched us back on to our pitch.
Toilets were very modern and spotlessly clean.
Pitches were very spacious with drainage for water and a tap is provided on each pitch.
We went for tea at the 'village limits' pub which is a two minute walk from the site, no need to walk on the road as there is direct access between the hedged and fenced area in field next to the road. Booking might be advisable at busier times.
As for 'being bored' (as previously mentioned) we found the opposite, with a little imagination there was plenty to do from this site. There is a walk through the woods to the village, with an abundance of woodland trails to explore.
If you enjoy cycling or walking there is a flat traffic free track along the 'viking way' which takes you to Horncastle, there are sculptures to admire on the way.
The Kinema is in the woods which is a short walk along a woodland track from the site. We sat outside 'the Mall' and had lunch in the village which was very reasonably priced.
We printed a cycle route off the Lincolnshire county council website which took us along quiet country lanes. There is also a traffic free route called the 'water railway' which takes you on a cycle path alongside the river Witham.
There is a park/play area a short distance down the road called Jubilee park with a cafe that sells icecreams and snacks. Next to this there is a large outdoor pool that is open during the Summer months.
We also saw lots of wildlife when we stayed squirrels, hares, a muntjac deer, pheasants, geese and we heard a woodpecker and owl too.
All in all a lovely tranquil peaceful site.

Lets start, the site is still under construction but most of the pitches are completed. The shower blocks are clean and very modern and the wardens are helpful. At the moment there is no children's play area so the kids got bored easily.
One lake is over grown with no real pegs round it, the other 2 are new and have just been stocked with carp, I was told by the warden that they put 600 carp but these lakes are big enough for 6000.
To sum this site up at the moment if you got kids don't go yet if they get bored, or if you want to go fishing, but if you just want a peaceful time this is ideal for you.
Would I go back ??? yes if the play area gets done and the lakes get pegged out and stocked for fishing this site can become something special.

After our first visit for August Bank Holiday, we took advantage of the Offer of Book one night get one free, and also invited our parents with there caravan and two dogs.
We booked the same pitch as previous, but with the heavy rain, it was a little waterlogged, and ended up moving us straight across to the opposite pitch, My parents liked the setting,
Dogs were well behaved and loved the field around the future lakes. As before, the management were very polite and helpful, the toilet/ shower blocks clean as the first time.
All the fellow caravanners and campers were very friendly. This was the first time with our own new tent, and we did enjoy the weekend. Would and will stop here again. Second phase was well under way.

Very nice site, even though it is still in it's embryonic stage. Pitches are full service, with water connection points on the EHU bollard, and grey water drains situated on the pitch. The pitches are big and level, Situated in the trees.
The site has a number of wooden cabin type wash facilities. Inside you find a very clean, and spacious wash, shower and toilet areas. The showers are spacious, but as a previous reviewer mentioned, you have to be careful as there are on shower curtains or splash panels, and it's easy to splash your clothes hanging on the pegs near the shower door. The basins are stylish bowl style, and eco hand wash is also provided, together with hair dryers, and hand dryers.
The site is really peaceful, and only 5 minutes away from Woodhall Spa, were you find some lovely shops (especially the cake shop), and a very well stocked budgens.
The site has an electronic gate, and the Facilities also use the little electronic tag provided (for a security deposit of £10) to allow access.
The warden was extremely helpful and friendly, (and also very busy around the site).
All in all, a very nice site.

This site is still being developed, although this did not interfere with our break at all, the building site is cordoned off and is not obvious from the caravan pitches. There were large, spacious pitches and very clean, newly built washrooms.
It is located in a quiet, woodland area and about 10-15 minute walk into Woodhall Spa, where there are shops. The bookshop/coffee shop in the town is lovely and the delicatessen has a wonderful array of nibbles, perfect for camping!
It is a very peaceful site and the staff are very helpful and friendly, we will definitely be back. I cannot comment on the fishing aspect but it seems the next phase to be completed next year, will provide 3(?) fishing lakes and a children's play area. When complete this will be a fantastic site!

A lovely site, only been open for 4 weeks when we went. Good location, about 10 min walk from shops and all that Woodhall Spa has to offer. Only half the site open due to phase two still being constructed but it didn't ruin the views. (Told it will have two new toilet blocks and kids play area) This site looks like it is going to be a gem, ideal for motorhomes/caravans as gravel layout seems to dictate. Some wooded areas for tents, although ground was not yet ready for pitching on- very new grass, our pegs didn't feel like they would hold in the sandy ground. (Will be great by next season) Brand new toilet block - spotless. Could benefit from having bins in the toilet block, and perhaps a freezer somewhere to refreeze packs for coolbox? Only 2 showers in ladies, same in gents and a family room, so it may get a bit busy at times. Good pot washing facilities with plenty of hot water. Need to pay a deposit for the key which opens toilets and barrier. Site staff very efficient and friendly.

Only open now for 4 weeks, had placed a booking online, tried to spy out the campsite by google map, but being new did not show. The Site is set back from Stixwould road by about 150 metres. The reception is at the forefront, with a nice layby and car park, and the Pub 'Village Limits' just pass the turn off for this site.
After confirming our arrival, we paid a deposit of £10.00 for an electric swipe key for the barriers to the site. We were shown to Plot 16, which is not what we had booked online, but this was explained that due to the newness of the site, and work ongoing on the next phase, this would be better. There are set areas for pitching tents, some at the back of caravan pitches, others more further into the wooded areas. Ours was surrounded by mature Beech, Oak and silver birch trees, The ground was newly sown, with the young shoots of grass coming through and the ground a bit soft, but this will settle with time as the grass matures and the area more trodden down. The campsite looked reasonably busy with caravaners and other tenting fanatics.
After initial pitching and sorting out the tent, we looked around the site. The toilet/shower blocks are new log cabins, you need your swipe key to gain access to through the doors. The insides were very clean, and plush looking. Two toilets, two urinals, 5 sinks and two shower cubicles, and one changing cubicle. Very nice. The showers are push button and last about 5 seconds a push, but this is not a problem, and they are hot. The ladies according to my wife are similar except 3 toilet cubicles, at the side there is a wet room/toilet for family use if you have young ones, and a disabled toilet/ shower/wash room. At the other end is the toilet waste room for the caravaners. And two sinks on the front and back for dish washing. Waste wheely skips are for general waste and plastics and glass, surprised none for metals.
The caravan pitches have power hook ups, with tapped water as well, and waste water drainage positioned under the caravan. The site manager worked hard and is very polite, keeping on top of the cleaning of the facilities. The site is a woodland trust site and the singing of the birds in the morning is really calming and peaceful. Was told that in the future development, that they are hoping to have a kids play adventure area, this would be nice, and in all there will be three toilet/shower blocks
Shops are local, about 3/4 miles back into Woodhall Spa, with a Co-Op and a Budgens, a few hardware stores, clothes/shoe shops, and quite a few cafes, the Ice cream parlour was very nice. Kinema in the woods, is a old traditional cinema, with an intermission, staff very pleasant and a pianist/organist who comes to play during the intermission. Decor very tidy and quaint.
When the site cleared mostly on the Bank Holiday Monday, there were three pitches including us left, the quietness was nice, seeing all the wildlife around was good. Dogs are allowed, but I believe there is a small fee for them. Them is no extra cost for the showers. I would and have booked this site again.

Just spent the August Bank Holiday weekend at this new site in Woodhall Spa.
The site has only been open a few weeks and they seem to be working hard on getting the rest of the site up and running as soon as possible.
The fees are very reasonable, we paid £ 75.00 for three nights over a Bank Holiday weekend for three adults and a child, with a hard standing fully serviced pitch with the awning up ! Excellent.
The manager was very helpful and pleasant and was very busy up and down the site all day, chatting with guests escorting new comers to their pitches, cleaning the loos etc, very visible if you had any problems.
All the pitches are very generous sized, gravel hard standing with a water, waste and TV hook up tower, central to two pitches, the only problem is, that if your door side is on the side of the tower it's possible your standard length water hook pipe won't reach, ours didn't!
The pitches are are set in amongst the tall trees and are not too regimented either so you get a nice feeling of space and privacy, the manager said they are still to plant hedging between the pitches for extra privacy too.
There are to be three facility blocks on site when fully open (80 pitches)all in timber lodge type buildings but very modern and well fitted inside, shower rooms are wet rooms (could really do with with a partition or shower curtain, as the water did spray around) but, they were exceptionally clean and tidy and when they had some teething problems Saturday morning the plumber was there to fix them straight away.
They are to have three fishing lakes on site and are encouraging wildlife habitats too, if you take your cat (as we did) in the terms and conditions they ask they have a collar with a bell on it.
So all in all a very nice weekend was had by our party, great for cycling around the site and in the area. Hopefully they will create some sort of play area for the children in the future and somewhere for ball games etc.
I think in another 12 months time once the site has been fully open it will be extremely popular. We normally use Bainland, but they are pricing themselves out of the market with new quality sites like this one and Petwood opening in the village and the beauty of these two is they are closer to Jubilee Park with all it's facilities and the village for all the amenities (it took us just 10 mins to walk to the village from Woodhall Country park and five mins further on to the the KINEMA.
Job well done, Woodhall Country Park - We will definitely be back.
