Just got back from a very nice and pleasant week at wood hall country park. We liked it that much we added another day on.
The site is clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful and always on hand if you need anything.
The toilets were always clean and water for showers are the hottest I've ever been in on a site.
Every pitch are serviced pitches with water electric waste and tv points. Every pitch is hard standing and drain well.
There are loads of walks to do or just sit a laze about its a great site.
Pub is 3 mins away, main town woodhall spa is 10 mins walk.
We went to raf coninsby, skegness, horncastle, tattershall and much more. Its a great site in a great place.

This is a lovely site- each of the pitches are a generous size and even though not described as super pitches come with own water, grey waste, electric and TV point. The showers are hot and extremely clean. The staff are the same as last year and are very knowledgeable about the local area and helpful without being intrusive. Although the site does not (yet) have a play park there is plenty of space in the field for children to run around and play and the bird hides overlooking the nature area provided added adventure for our 7 year old. We will definitely be back!

What can I say, after reading other reviews we decided to spend a week holiday here (we usually go to the Canaries). The weather was kind which always helps, but as for the site it is wonderful, very peaceful apart from the geese and pheasants and other wildlife but you are in a woodland setting so just go with the flow. The facilities are top notch and spotlessly clean. Each pitch has its own water, electric and grey waste drain (no need for the waste hog) and is a huge hardstanding which can take car, caravan and awning easily. There are three lakes for the fishermen amongst you but it's nice just to walk around them enjoying the peace. There is no play area for children which is not a bad thing because there are lots of other things to do.
The village is about a 20 minutes stroll and the Mall pub just left at the roundabout serves good food and drink at reasonable prices. The Village Limits is the pub next to the site, but we didn't try this one. There are some fantastic walks in the area which we downloaded from the Woodhall Spa website before we went. The only negative thing I can say is that it is a bit more expensive than some other sites we've visited, but everything about the place including the staff is excellent and it was a lot cheaper than going abroad!

Just returned from our second stay at this site, its such a good site after our first stay we decided to return to it just 4 days later.
We cannot fault this site in anyway we have stayed both during the week when its nice and quiet and also on a weekend when its more lively.
The wardens are very helpful and polite and ready to assist in anyway that they can. The toilet and shower blocks are cleaned regular and are first class and very modern. There is also washing up facilities on site which came in handy and was also kept very clean. When our young grandchildren came to stay for the night we used the family room to shower in which was very spacious and warm.
The site offers lots of wildlife which I found a little of getting used to once dark with being a townie what with all the noises different animals make but after a couple of nights and a detailed explanation by one of the wardens what animals made what noises it was a pleasure to hear it all going on around us.
We took our little dog with us and found the site to be a very dog friendly place with plenty of places to walk him. Got to see the spitfire fly over doing a couple of stunts and flying really low whilst we was at one of the lakes on site what a special treat that was.
A very popular clean family friendly site and I can see why, good security on entering and leaving the site we will definitely be returning for the 2012 season.

We've just returned from a lovely weekend stay at Woodhall Country Park. The site is new, with many new trees, but much of the site is built amongst mature Douglas Firs.
There are three amenity blocks, all new and all completed to the highest standards. Showers are push button, but they are warm, powerful and extremely clean and spacious. Laundry rooms are well equipped with modern facilities. £3 for a washing machine and £1. 50 for a 40min tumble dry.
The shop was well stocked with the basics, and newspapers can be ordered. Woodhall Spa is quite pretty and the Kinema in the Woods is nearby. There are some lovely local pubs, we went to the Bluebell, which served cheap, excellent food.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and it is definitely a site we'll use again, because it is quiet, friendly and has modern, clean facilities.

Just got back from trying this campsite out for the first time. What a fantastic place! Lovely clean facilities, friendly staff and good reception area with a small shop stocking basic items. Bread and papers can be ordered if you want them - but it's not far into the village (about 15 minutes walk).
The warden took us to our pitch and showed us the hook up etc. What I particularly liked was that there was a grey water and elsan facility at the side of the pitch.
Pitches are all gravel/chippings and the only thing I would suggest is to use your storm pegs and not standard tent pegs as we couldn't get them into the ground - they all bent!
Lovely setting - peaceful, tranquil, quiet - you get the jist! Just right as a place to unwind. We'll definitely be back

Just returned form this very lovely site. Two adults and 2 dogs
The park is very well set out the entrance is large and easy to manoeuvre with plenty of space to pull over when booking in.
We were shown to our pitch (selected by us when booking by Internet ) by one of the very friendly staff member'.
Then left to sort ourselves out, the pitches are large and flat with water. Tv point and waste water drain.
The toilet /shower facility's are excellent. As the site is still very new it will take time for it to develop fully.
The planting they have done will I'm sure flourish in time.
I would recommend this site. And be more than happy to return.

This is a very good site but would benefit from being better managed. We booked online but despite being advised we had booked pitch 3 the tent pitches are unmarked and we were shown two areas and basically told we could pitch where we liked.
The site was not too busy so this was not a problem but may be more problematic during busy times. The site is level and well drained, in a good location with very clean shower block. However, the noise curfew is 11pm (we only found this out by asking) which is a bit late for a family campsite and we were subjected to one group playing irritating techno music until after 11 when we had to ask them to turn it off - the warden was nowhere to be seen. The same night we saw another group had left an unattended open fire blazing away outside their tent - we did not see the warden outside of the reception in 4 days - it would certainly help if regular checks were carried out re noise etc.
If you do decide to stay here then we would highly recommend the Italian restaurant next to the Kinema in the woods, a short walk through the woods from the campsite.
Great food and reasonably priced. Myers in Horncastle is great for breakfast or lunch and worth the drive. Don't bother with the Melrose in Woodhall Spa unless you like overpriced breakfasts with cheap greasy ingredients.
Leave the car and take the bus to Lincoln from Woodhall main street, takes an hour but saves having to park (useful tip -take the minibus from outside house of fraser up the very steep hill to the Cathedral quarter and walk down)

Excellent facilities, lovely clean shower block, toilets and Reception/Shop. However, we were disappointed by the brochure claims which we felt were misleading.
There is no badger hide, although it appears on the brochure map which was the sole reason for our booking (it is not yet built but the small print on the back of the brochure says 'coming soon').
Much of the site is still being developed and you are not in the heart of a forest, but surrounded by a few trees and a road.
We were also charged double (£32 per night) because we had two adults in a tent and a teenager in a small pup tent next to us even though it says £20 for a family of two adults and two children in the leaflet.
The peace and tranquillity was spoilt by a very large fan on the outside wall of the toilet block which continued to blast all night, resulting in no sleep for the first night. By the second night we had learned to ignore it.
We probably won't be returning here.

We have just returned from our first camping trip at woodhall country park, family 2 adults and 2 children and this campsite has certainly set the standard for our future camping holidays. A beautiful site in the pine trees surrounded by nature.
We were shown to our tent area and given choice of where to pitch. Tents are dotted about amongst trees, not regimented at all.
The campsite has simple facilities but that is what we wanted, no amusements or entertainment just quiet countryside life, perfect!
Excellent clean and modern shower/toilet facilities, washing up areas. Electric hook ups but we found we didn't need it and the site is well lit at night.
Lovely walks into nearby woodhall spa, lovely Italian in the woods and quaint museum as well. An excellent site and has certainly given us the camping bug.
