July 2004 Our first time camping, had last pitch available, which we were told was on a slope, however this was not that bad, and we had a lovely view across Chichester harbour. Clean facilities, quiet site, would highly recommend. We are hoping to go back this year.

June 2004 Only stayed one night at this campsite. Pitches were small and ours was on quite a slope. The campsite looked very windswept judging by the angle of the trees and fences. Toliets were slightly 'prison style' with metal doors that clanked shut behind you. I think we were dissapointed generally with Hayling island which seemed to be run down with boarded up shops and a fun fair which didn't look like it had been running for some time. The other deciding factor was that signs to the campsite also direct you to the local rubbish tip which is next door!!

August 2003 Not a bad site at all... I'll go into the positives first.. Stayed there for two weeks in August 2003, the same two weeks where the weather hit 100.. It was a nice site with the pitches spaced out, nicely located and short walks to the pub and beach short and not overgrown grass and nice scenery over into the creek... Tried a spot of fishing but didn't really catch anything so we went down to the beach early morning and caught lunch!! It did also seem to be a friendly neighbourhood site with all the permanent caravans there.. Now the negatives.. Toilets and showers were a little far away from the tent sites, we were pitched next to the refuse dump (you can imagine the smell with the weather being as hot as it was) and the pettiest thing that really got to us was that the caretaker told us to move our tent around 8-10 inches to the right because we were blocking the vehicle route.. (I could have drove a tank blindfolded through the gap that was already there quite easily)
But on the whole the cool evenings were nice with the sun setting on the creek and the smell of the refuse gone!!!
I'd definatly go again but i'll ask for a different pitch!!!

June 2004 Stayed over the weekend and the weather was brilliant. Because of it being right next to the creek, all we had to do was to pull our motor boat on its trailer, go through the gate and conveniently launch it yards from the caravan. Had a super weekend and because the caravan's on a season pitch, we can go any time we like. An excellent site.

March 2004 Loved this site. Clean, well maintained and friendly. It is in a really pretty location, overlooking a small lagoon and a tidal water inlet. The pitches are well spaced and level. You would never know that you were only a stones throw away from the local CA.
The staff were very helpful, even offered to wipe the little play area equipment down for our little girl to play on-( it was 8.30am in the morning and it was damp with dew ).
We love Hayling Island - my parents live in West Town, so it was great to have our own space, whilst being able to spend some time with them too.
The beach and it’s shops are all about 5 minutes away by bike - which is great for us as we have a motor home, although there is also a Spar shop about 5 minutes walk away too.
The on site facilities are great - the shop is well stocked, the showers and toilets are spotless and the chemical waste and water facilities are plentiful.
We have already booked to go again in May. I can certainly see us becoming regulars here.. ;o)

April 2004 Had a lovely stay over the weekend, despite the fact the weather was horrific the night we stayed. The toilets and showers were immaculate, and I am looking forward to spending a longer stay there during the summer.

March 2004 Having had a lovely stay in Summer time, we decided to return in off season. We were not disappointed. The site was clean and well kept, toilets and showers were spotless. The shop and staff were friendly, helpful & informative. There was plenty of space for the children to play and they had great fun in the fresh air all day. In the words of our 8 year old "The best campsite in the world". We have already booked to visit again and can be sure of a welcome return.

29/7/03 Just took a flying visit to this site while in the area the site had some good views over the estuary/harbour & seemed to be well looked after. The girl in reception was very helpful & was only to pleased to let us have a look around (always a good sign). The facilities were modern and clean the showers we did not see as they had code locked doors although what we could see seemed to be same standard as other facilities.

July 2003 We chose this site because of it's positive reviews on this website and we were not disappointed . The site is well kept with loos and showers that are clean, modern and never overly in use . The site is fairly large but was quiet and calm due I think partly to the fact that many of the caravans are kept there permanently (people mowing lawns around them , gnomes etc were a bit of a give away ), and that many of the campers were older . This suited us well as with 2 overexcited young children to get to sleep we can do without BBQs and music until 11pm ! There were two play areas (over/under 5's)which were OK , a games room , launderette , small shop at reception etc but the site's main attraction is that it's adjacent to a tidal creek that you can launch boats from , walk alongside , paddle /swim in etc . We paid £1.50 extra for a creek-side pitch (number 36 ) which was well worth the money as it was large and picturesque (we didn't realise that the trees overhead contained birds which would cover our new tent with pooh on the first night but I guess it's called getting close to nature !) . It's worth trying to get a pitch against the edges as the corner and central pitches were more packed in . A really lovely site with loads to do which we are already planning to return to again !

July 2002 This camp site had excellent facilities, very clean, the location is quite picturesque.
A large play area is supplied for the children and also a small games room, on site features also included a small shop that was very well stocked.
The camp site does advertise fishing, we did try but this is not easy as the tide spent more time out than in, but the bit we did manage was fun.
A thoroughly enjoyable site.
