I was just slightly put off as we arrived at Fishery Creek to see that the site is right next door to the local refuse waste dump, however once through the entrance to the sight we had a nice surprise! The site is bordered on one side by a mobile home park and the other by another holiday park and a river, with a tidal creek running along the other side, it seemed well maintained and organised with a barrier entrance system for which a £10 returnable deposit is required and nice clean toilets. The lady at reception was really warm and friendly, and the shop offered some of the basic's, but there are a couple of convenience stores up the road, as well as a Somerfield and a Co-op, with a nice Tesco a bit further away (10 mins drive) in Havant. We ate out at a Brewer's Fayre near the site called The Barley Mo which was ok. We were very happy with our spacious pitch overlooking the tidal creek. The pitches are well marked out, but the middle pitches looked a bit cramped, the creek pitches are much better in my opinion. There appear to be lots of seasonal vans and awnings which are left there all year round, and lots of them have made an effort with flower pots outside their vans which was nice. We liked watching the ducks waddling round the site all day, and the view of the creek was nice, even when all the water was gone! We walked five minutes up the creek path and came out right near the shops and beach which will be great in the warmer weather, sadly it rained for most of our two night stay. Overall I would say Fishery Creek is a quiet and relaxing site which I would be happy to visit again, hopefully when the sun is shining!

Went last year for a few days ,very peaceful. A bit of a shame some of the older amusements i remembered at creek road were now gone ,as they were closer but a walk to the funfair at the other end of the beach road was good excersize . Facilities were okay ,have definitely seen worse ,but it is only a small site . Biggest problem could be the fact that all the seasonal caravan people seem a bit stand -offish . For the cost and the peace and quite i am happy to recommend this site, and will be booking a 4 day mid week soon.

Stayed here for a long weekend at the beginning of the month. Talk about quiet. If you are after a relaxing weekend this is the place but you would be better off in a caravan. The pitch we were on was (as a lot of the others looked) bumpy, and we had a lump of old concrete right in the middle of the tent. I don't think you have a huge choice of pitches at this site as others have said the vast majority of caravans there are there for the season.
Those who run and work on the site are nice enough people as is everyone you see. The toilet block is pretty good but the Showers could be better. They do the job and are clean but need to be updated. The under 5's play area is more suited to the under 4's ( there is a big difference at that age you know lol) and the older one looks Ok. The site shop only had a limited selection when we were there I cuoldn't even call it the essentils but there are a couple of shops to get what you need within walking distance. The Hookups are 10 amp and I would sujest getting a hookup pitch even if you don't use it as the section I saw without they crammed a few to many tents on for my liking.
As for Hayling itself it is a good little island that is not overly busy if you are after a nice sandy beach go somewhere else as stones are the order of the day here. There is a fun fair section in the centre of the seafront ( blackpool it isn't ) that is enough to keep the kids quiet for a while with at least 4 or 5 rides for the 4yr ish age group. it also has the compulsary amusement arcades. there are a few places to eat on the island but one of the best is the fish and chip shop in eaststoke you can take away or use the small cafe next door. All in all a nice place and site and I suspect we will go again when we need somewhere just down the road.

This is a well organised campsite. The pitches are clearly defined and you know exactly where you will be pitched before arriving. Things do feel a bit cramped in the middle of the site and the waterside pitches do have the better views but also cost more. One thing to be aware of is that the creek is tidal so you will have a nice view of an expanse of mud while the tide is out.
The toilets looked clean but the gents always had that smell of a public convenience. The washing-up area is under cover but is too cramped if all the sinks are in use.
There are the usual speed humps around the site but a couple are just a bit too high for some cars. They are easily recognised by the numerous gouges out of the humps from previous encounters with cars.
The grass is cut regularly but if you are putting up a tent or an awning then do NOT forget a hammer/mallet and a couple of spare pegs. We put a tent up alongside the caravan and had trouble getting the pegs in. I was told by one of the locals that the site was used as a tip in the 60s and the site is littered with builders rubble just below the surface.
The beach and a few shops/post office are an easy walk. There are more shops a couple of minutes drive away. There's a tescos superstore near the road onto the island.

August 2004 Decided to buy a tent and introduce the kids to camping...Great start on a busy site with a great location by the creek, the staff are freindly and helpful and the showers and toilets were clean and well kept. The beach is a short distance away and shops are just up the road 5 mins walk. The pitches are varied but the best face on to the waters edge. All in all a great site.

March 2004 I stayed there in March of last year for the Easter break and really enjoyed it! It's a lovely site with beautiful surroundings. It's close to the beach, and there's a shop less than 5 minutes away. The toilets are always clean and although I never had to queue for a shower.. you have to get one early or the hot water runs out! It's close to Portsmouth and Littlehampton, if you fancy going places other than the Island.

September 2004 This is a lovely campsite, very friendly helpful staff. We have been a couple of times and each time we don't want to go home!!! There are a lot of caravans already pitched there oviously don't move a lot, but all have their own pitch with a little fence around each pitch. I'm not sure we would like it so much in the busy weeks, we prefer a quieter holiday, however there are lots of things for children to do, close by... we took the dog on some beautiful walks alongside the creek and along the beach. The beach is not too far..it is pebble beach with the occasional patch of sand. Toilets are clean but I think it could do with a second lot of loo's one each end of the camp site. Views from the site, especially on the pitches next to the water are brilliant. Good shop for daily needs not too far to walk, as camp shop only has barest essentials. All in all, site is excellent

September 2004 Very good site with welcoming staff. Stayed over the first weekend in September and had brilliant weather. Stayed with friends in 2 unserviced pitches right next to the creek. Fantastic view (when the tides in!) and some nice walks along the creek and round to the harbour area.
Facilities are pretty good and generally clean and tidy. I didn't experience queues for the showers, but there was often a queue for the ladies showers.
Lots of season pitches for caravans, and quite a few touring pitches and not so many tent pitches, but don't let that put you off. Everyone seemed very friendly, and it has obviously got a very happy regular crowd. We would seriously consider going there again.

July 2004 The site was clean and quiet. We were on plot 80 which was close to the creek. The site staff were very friendly and we enjoyed out stay there. It could do with more water points though. The other campers who seem to be mainly seasonal caravanners (check out the gardens!!) were all friendly and while we were waiting for our pitch to clear, we were offered a cup of tea.
The beach, which was mainly pebbles with a small amount of sand (when the tide was out) was clean. The whole area seemed very pleasant. The site facilities where clean enough considering the site was full, and we never had to queue for pot washing or showers.
The best beach we found while down there was at littlehampton, which was very safe swimming, Life guards, etc, beautiful sandy Beach, warm water. We absolutely loved it there.

Aug 2004 Excellent site, quite a few people pitch there Mar - Oct very friendly people. Showers and wc very clean and modern. Water hydrants all over so no long walks to fill up. Lovely grassy pitches. Couldn't figure out what previous reviewer was on about 'CA'. You have to drive past a Council Amenities (recycling centre) near the entrance to site. Once on site you can't notice anything. Play parks are good too. No bad points for us. Going back soon Vanessa and Simon
