August 2003 We've been going to Durdle Door Campsite for about 6 years now, every August Bank Holiday. We love it! Our group is of varied ages, from 4 year olds to my grandparents. We always camp, under the trees, and the site is perfect. As already mentioned on the other comments, the shower/toilet blocks are spotlessly clean. There is a huge play area for the kids, and a kids club in the Summer too. The shop is well-stocked. The pub sells great breakfasts!! The field next door has been opened as a maize-maze. The cliff walk over to Lulwroth is amazing. Yes steep and not for the unfit, but breathtaking anyway an you can just sit at the top of the cliff and enjoy instead. Easy access to other towns, we go to Poole with our jetski. Definitely recommended!

August 2003 This is a nice site with good facilities. There is a bar that serves reasonable food and a well stocked shop. The showers and toilets are both clean, with hot water. The site is predominantly static caravans with camping either under trees or up on the cliffs. We chose to camp on the cliffs which does get windy in the evenings. There is a steep path and a series of steps leading down to Durdle Door beach. Not advised for people much less than fit, or with a push chair etc. The beach itself is shingle but quite pleasant. It does however get deep very quickly. Overall we enjoyed our time here.

August 2002 We spent a wonderful few days here. The sites for tents are either in a wooded area (lovely) or open (not so nice). The toilet facilities were excellent although for dishwashing you had to buy a token for hot water - only 10p but seemed a little mean spirited. The camp fees are fairly expensive at £16 per night and £7 extra for pup tents but the location is outstanding. The beach is a long way down a steep cliff but the turquoise waters more than make up for this! There is a shop selling a good range of food and other tent/holiday items and a bar. The takeaway does not allow you to buy only chips, instead you have to buy a full meal which again does seem a little mean and we simply didn't use it. The site has its own bbq's and you can also use your own.
Overall a great place to stay as you really don't need to use the car which also cuts down on expensive beach car parks - £5 per day in the area unless you want to visit somewhere else. Another point worth mentioning is that if you want to book you have to pay the full cost up front.

May 2001 Wonderful setting with a mixture of caravans and tents. We pitched on the cliff tops which was a bit scary as to get the caravan level we had to have the legs fully raised and on 3 blocks. However, the view was spectacular. They do have level pitches for the less adventurous further inland. Toilets and showers were spotless and free. They also had cubicles with wash basins in. Although we were right on the coast, access to the beach was via a very steep path and several steps. Although quite awkward to get to with all the kit needed for children wanting a day on the beach, well worth it when you get there. It is a pebble beach, and the sea is clear blue, you did get the feeling of being in another country as it is not like other English Resort beaches. The site itself had quite a lot of day visitors coming to view the famous Durdle Door, which meant at times it could get quite busy. There was a well stocked shop, a take away and a small bar with a childrens play room. A good base for touring around dorset, we visited Bournemouth, Poole, Swanage, Lulworth Cove and Weymouth.
