Lovely site but not for 2 weeks like we did, 3 days would have been adequate. Very clean toilets/shower block, shop excellent, Harry's excellent, couldn't say that for neighbours f. /b. At kids 9. 30 at night, had to have my granddaughter stay in our caravan 2 nights because of them, but that is not the sites fault. Crows were a bit of a problem at 5. 00 in morning, and sap of the trees which we are still trying to get off. Meals were nice at the Red Lion and the Castle and at Lulworth Cove Pub. Very expensive for what is there £36 per night, and sloping pitches where the electric hookups were, playground ok. If you want a nice walking holiday it is excellent. It is 3/4 mile to Durdle Door, no steps to beach (washed away) or 160 steps to Man-of-war beach, no sand, only pebbles and shale, not for the unfit or elderly (that aren't fit) wont be going again, but enjoyed

The location of this site is superb - you can walk to both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door without too much difficulty. We are not particularly fit, and the weather was boiling hot, but we still managed both.

The pub / restaurant (Harry's) and staff were all great. All the people who served us or answered queries were kind and helpful. The pub is reasonably priced and although they were busy, we found the meal quality to be fine (fish + chips / chilli / children's meal / sharing platter etc all good). The shop is quite well stocked.

The camp wi-fi did not work so the only way to get internet was to buy a coffee at the bar and use the bar wi-fi. This was pleasant as they provide a nice sofa seating area and the coffee is fine.

So, lots of good points, and we don't regret staying there at all, but there are some down sides, too. The ravens are horrendous. We were on the hook up pitches - incidentally nice big pitch, reasonably level and with lovely shade from the woodland tree area - bliss during the heatwave when we were camping. But those ravens can squawk for England.

There was also a fairly constant stream of traffic going down to the public car park and herds of foreign students from language schools off to see Durdle Door and loads and loads of foreign visitors who don't have the same sense of noise control or idea of what constitutes personal space that hardy Brits might do. It was a very busy, very noisy campsite. That also made it lively but if you want a restful holiday, go elsewhere.

Finally, the shower block was OK but the people using it didn't seem to have much respect for others. If only the loo block had a quick visit from staff in the evening as well as midday, then it could be a lot more pleasant.

We enjoyed a meal out at the Lulworth Cove Inn, and a special celebration meal at Limestone in Lulworth - a fantastic treat. But we were pretty happy with Harry's Bar, too and then it's not far to home!

It is a bit a pricey, but then Lulworth and Durdle Door are special places, so all in all, it was fine.

We camped here last year and very much looking forward to going back. The site is fantastic and located in a perfect location for hikers. We regulary hike a 16 mile walk arounf here and end up at the smugglers rest ( great pub for food and cider)to indulge after those hills.

We felt the site was good value for money and had lots to offer not only vistors with caravans but people like us in a two man tent!

Stayed 8 June for one night with a sea view. If I had not prepaid I would have gone elsewhere. The site is well kept and the staff are friendly but the sea view is on such a steep slope even with the outfit on a breeze block and a levelling block I could still not get level. The sea view is also overlooking the car park and as the weather was lovely it was like the check out at a supermarket. The water tap was a push operation which does not facilitate using a hose to fill your tank. I found the shower block to be full of condensation each time I visited it. The location is wonderful with the coastal walks and coves, including durdle door but at £32 for one night it is too expensive, even if it is June, will not be revisiting.

What a lovely friendly site. Fantastic walks directly from the site. The reception provided leaflets and information of local attractions.

We booked 3 nights online, enjoyed the site so much did not continue with our tour of Dorset, rather continued on a daily basis as Durdle door is well placed and accessible to all the attractions of Dorset. So stayed a further 2 nights.

We stayed on a premium pitch although it was grass found it drained well was spacious, and had electric hook up point and water on the pitch. The toilets were clean, showers were free lovely and hot. Harry's bar was friendly, reasonably priced for food, usual bar drinks and coffees, serving Breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks throughout the day. The shop was very well stocked opening early for papers and had nice long opening hours.

This is a lovely location would definitely use the site again.

At £16 for a sea view pitch with EHU, this is good value in October. The toilets and showers were spotless and worked perfectly. The shop was pretty good and not over priced. The sea view pitches slope but they have left a few breeze blocks next to the EHU at every pitch. We needed to use these as the normal fiamma yellow wedges did not level the van. Durdle Door is directly below the sea view pitches but cannot be seen from the pitch. The panoramic sea view that you can see is very impressive with the isle of Portland over to the right. The only gripe we had was the WIFI. The lady in reception did say it was run by a third party and nothing to do with them, however I am sure they must make something from it or they wouldn't be promoting it. At £7 for 24 hours, it was a bit steep but we thought, for an evenings use of iplayer, we would give it a go. It was utterly useless and either froze or said no connection available. There was a helpline but apparently it's not manned at the weekend.

When we arrived we asked for a sea view. There are about forty pitches with views that are located in a few rows right next to the car park – Not a lot of privacy! Only the first two or three pitches can actually be used by a motorhome as the site slopes so much – We have Milenco Quattro levels which are about the highest you can get; they did not come close to levelling us. The taps are the push type with no way of connecting a hose. Pressing the tap whilst holding a twenty litre water container under it is awkward.

Whilst at the site we needed to do some laundry. There are four washing machines and four dryers. The first machine we tried did not spin. We told the people at reception and they gave us tokens to try again. We then found that two of the remaining three machines did not work either. Also, only two of the tumble dryers worked. We reported this but no-one seemed to care – The next day the machines were still not working with no warning signs to tell people of the fact.

Given the above, you would have thought that the site would not be expensive, especially as this was October, but no, £18 a night.

Some of the motorhomes that arrived after us had to pitch at ridiculous angles due to the slope – Probably 95% of the pitches were not fit for purpose.

We will never visit again.

I am sure this site is great during dry weather but as it had been raining for a few days we had a torrid time because the drainage was virtually non existent. we would have preferred a sea view pitch but found it far too slippery and uneven, plus the water taps were of the push type and were unable to connect a hose to fill the water tank, so ended up on a premium pitch but again there was a severe lack of drainage and due to the 'unevenness' found it very hard to get anywhere near level.

Shower toilet blocks where very spacious & clean but don't take any notice of the closing times as they closed for cleaning outside the advertised hours.

The bar / restaurant was quite pleasant though a tad on the expensive side but to be expected given the location, the shop was very well stocked, would I stay here again ? probably not ! like a previous reviewer due to the stunning views I would be tempted to use the public pay car park for a daily visit and stay elsewhere

I don't use EHU so was offered standard camping in either the woodland area or a field - having looked at the field, which had no views & was surrounded by static caravans, I opted for the woodland area. BIG mistake & a rookie error I won't ever repeat again!

1) Birds - there are crows nesting in the trees above the woodland tent pitches & the cacophony is deafening! Thankfully they settled down about 8. 30pm & weren't too loud in the mornings. Avoiding the bird poop was challenging too! Unfortunately only once was I (un!) lucky!

2) Tree sap - horrible! Unfortunately I was using my newest tent, only it's second outing & now it's baring battle scars! Fortunately it's only a small 3 man dome so I am able to leave it unpacked waiting for the sap to dry. It's still unbelievably sticky after 2days of airing in my shed!

The site sits above Durdle Door, which is stunning & the coast line is breathtaking. If you are below average fitness I wouldn't recommend going down to the beach though as the climb back up is a killer!

The toilets & showers near the woodland area were very clean. The shop is very well stocked & reasonably priced, with freshly baked baguettes, croissants etc available.

I didn't use the bar, so can't comment, but what I saw looked pleasant enough.

In my opinion this is a nice enough site with good facilities & location but I wouldn't go back due to the fact that it is predominantly a static caravan holiday park, the standard tent pitch locations & at £18 per night I feel overpriced, as for one of my two nights there I was solo camping.

We really liked this site. Superb location with access to Durdle Door and wonderful scenery. Good clean facilities with no queues. Has a decent bar and food ok at the on site takeaway.

We were on a premium pitch including hookup / water point and grey waste drain which was really handy - the water from the tap on our pitch had an unpleasant taste though.

This was the most expensive site we have ever been to costing £80 for only two nights. Our pitch was also very steep and impossible for us to get level. Our neighbours said their fridge wouldn't work because he was so unlevel.

The premium pitches are all off one access track where one side of the road is pretty level the other side pretty steep so when booking ask for the lower level pitches.

The site also has a public access road running right through it to a car park at the top of the hill for day trippers to Durdle Door - this meant the main entrance into the camp was a little hectic.

This camp however has a good vibe and we felt very comfortable there. Access is a little tricky with narrow roads at points but not too bad -Do not us satnav it wont get you there - follow direction instructions on this site.

We will definitely return if we are in that part of the world again.
