Excellent site, showers are great, free and always open with lots of hot water. Laundry facilities small but great. This site is perfect if you are after a quiet place to relax and chill out. Great walking area, and not to far from Weymouth or Bridport. It also has 16amp hook up on its electric pitches unlike stingy East Fleet and Bagwell that only use 10amp. These big sites have much to learn. Small sites are by far the better and better run.
This site is highly recommended by us, 9 out of 10,will definatly use it again.

Just returned from a wonderful week's stay at Portesham Dairy Farm. Lovely clean camp site with probably the best shower/ toilet block we have used. It was always clean and the shower cubicles had seats, towel rail and a shower curtain. There was even a private wash room. The site owners are very nice and helpful and even when we turned up early he rearranged his site plan to help us get pitched early and hopefully avoid getting soaked before the rain started (We did get soaked and the rain lasted for two days). The site is flat and we had plenty of room for car and trailer. There are some nice walks around the area and just 2 minutes from our pitch we could get on a footpath which would take you into the countryside and you can watch the sun go down over the hills. It is a short 15min drive into Weymouth with Dorchester just up the road it makes for a great base to explore the area. If I had one moan and it is only a small one would like to see someone having a walk round about 11 o'clock to insure that the noise was kept down. The older children would meet at the play area about 9 0'clock and sometimes they would be there till 11 o'clock messing around. I know it should be the responsibility of the parents but I think if a warden had a walk round once or twice after 10 o'clock it would be helpful. I will be going back to this site and would recommend this site to anyone who wants to visit Weymouth area. One more thing before I finish, The car parking prices in the weymouth area are disgusting. Take plenty of change with you. Five pounds for over 4 hours. It cost me £1.40 for all day in Dorchester.

Arrived here in wonderful weather, then it all went downhill with wind and rain. Site coped well - didn't turn into a mud bath. Pitches level and spacious. As mentioned before, the toilet and shower block were spotless. Even the portaloo in the main field had huge mirrors, panelled doors and a dado rail -poshest one I've seen. The atmosphere on site is great - relaxed and friendly. Quiet at night. Smallish play area which my children (8, 10 an 13 didn't use). Plenty of room to kick a ball around or play cricket without bothering the neighbours. Portesham is pretty but not much there, Abbotsbury is near and has more to see and buy. Would recommend this site for peaceful, traditional camping.

Had a fantastic time, the weather was glorious (which obviously helped), but the site itself was one of the nicest and most peaceful we have visited. My husband and son enjoyed a 2 hour 'scouting trip' over the neighbouring countryside, whilst I relaxed and listened to nothing! The pub up the road serves great food, with a really nice garden to sit in and indulge in a pint or two. Only negative (if I can really call it that), was the directions into the actual site, we overshot the correct turning into the site, as we were misled by the reception sign and then had to perform a 3 point turn up the road! All in all a site we would fully recommend for families - we will be back

Just called into this site after seeing the facilities listed under UKCS and reading the glowing reviews from previous visitors. However, didn't stay due to following: A) the facilities are at the camp entrance, near to hard standings for caravans, and only a small toilet and wash basin facility, of the portacabin type, is provided near to tents. Their website does admit 'small toilet block' for touring pitches (and shows photos of inside), but it should be remembered that these small, basic units have to be shared with the many touring visitors there at any one time!; B) site felt very cramped and is actually laid out different to the aerial view (from 2006) that the map shows, meaning that tents are now pitched much further away from the main block than this view shows. Using the owner's website, one can judge the distance to the main units by looking at the second picture on their home-page. The photo is taken somewhere near the facilities block and the tent area is in the field in the far distance (the small toilet/basins block is at the end of the line of caravans on the right hand side of the same picture - can't see it, need I say more!). Being disabled and with children, it was just too far to go to reach the facilities and the small mobile unit was just inadequate due to the number of other visitors on site. Also, the Reception office is outside the camp within the adjacent farm. With respect to the price, I don't believe this represents value for money for those with tents, especially when compared with other sites nearby.

We stayed here in August and it was pretty busy. Fantastic toilets, clean and no queues even in the morning. Washing facilities good, but we did have to queue for those.
There's an average pub down the road and the shop on site has everything you really need. Near by beeches are stone not sand though.
I didn't really like this site because it felt too busy. The EHU pitches were packed in and I was glad we were able to pitch where we liked away from the massing throng. We usually like to camp in idyllic fields with wonderful views, this was more of a caravan park with a bit of a field at the end.
Having said that the kids park was handy and as I say the shower and toilet block really were second to none, so it depends on your priorities.

Had a very pleasant five night stay at this peaceful but well situated site. First week of summer hols but owner was very obliging to add extra nights each day as we made up our minds how long to stay depending on the extremely unpredictable weather. Spacious, well drained EHU pitch, which we were able to choose on arrival. Wash and shower facilities were always very clean and never had to queue. However, site was not full so may struggle peak season as only 3 showers. Wash-up room was a little cramped, although not a problem to us as site was not full during our stay. No recycling facilities. Small shop with basic supplies - didn't use so cannot comment on prices, but did have ice block freezing facility and local info & leaflets etc. Play area was good although not used by our 12yr old, who was able to make use of unused pitches for footie, cricket etc.- he would have been frustrated if these were being pitched on as there was no other games area. Had good meal at local pub - reasonable prices. No other local eatery or take-away. Site well positioned to visit local attractions -Weymouth, Jurassic coast, Chesil Beach. Had lovely day on tramways into Seaton - well worth a visit. Overall, good quiet site, well situated, clean, well maintained and not over commercialised - lovely. Owners cheerful and helpful. Would definitely revisit.

Just come back from our first weekend away camping as a family. As novice campers we found this a very friendly and clean site. The poshest portacabin toilets we have ever seen. Shower and main toilet block immaculate, although showers can get very hot. Lovely flat pitches with ample space for our very large tent, trailer and car. A safe site for kids to wander around, plenty of space for ball games. Nicely situated between Lyme Regis and Weymouth. Would recommend this site and have already booked to visit again in September.

Just arrived back from Portesham Dairy Farm. Very spacious pitches - told to go and pick where we wanted to pitch. Some nice walks to go with the dog. Toilets and showers were spotless - didn't have to queue once but as there are only 3 in the ladies don't know what it will be like in peak season. Nice quiet site, no shop or club but there is a pub just across the road. Only downside were the crows squawking from about 4.00am on!

We camped in the 'freestyle' field along with my family in campervans - Charged at the same price and at £7.00 (low season from 16th Sept) its great. A single person gets it cheaper -which is rare these days! Excellent flat pitches, peaceful and with good facilities. The field is so good for pitching, with trees around the edge for shelter. It felt very shelter from the winds.
Close by to the field is a small playground, two toilets per sex and wash basins with mirrors. Further away by the caravan area are more toilets, washing cubicle, and showers (free) - the type where you press a button frequently. There are disabled facilities - toilet, washbasin and shower. All very clean. There is a washing up area, chemical disposal and a useful reception with leaflets. Dogs are allowed at a small daily charge.
On the bus route the Jurassic Coast - Exeter to Weymouth. The campsite is situated in the village/edge of. There is a petrol station very close, a pub which has recently changed management and a post office. Lots of walks close by, including the old railway line to Abbotsbury - shorter distance to walk than to drive!
This campsite has been wrongly labelled on maps as 'Marsh Farm', but being a cartographer I had discussions with Ordnance Survey whom have altered it to Portesham Dairy Farm. Multimap and Streetmap will alter their maps shortly, meanwhile all new OS maps will now have the correct data on.
We really liked this campsite as it's handy for different places - the coast and inland places like Hardy's Monument. Good charges and good clean and basic facilities. It was very empty in September making it a very peaceful and spacious place to camp.
