Clean, Tidy, well maintained, grass well cut. Good washing facilities, not too big, great for young families and couples. Handy for the pub and farm shop. Owner extended our stay and moved around others pitch so we didn't have to move,
No negatives at all.

Stayed for one night over Easter period. Owner very accommodating as we booked last minute.
The site is reasonably flat, with a mixture of hard standing and grass pitches. There seemed to be a lot of permanently sited vans on the hard standing area.
As the weather was very bad, there were several areas that were quite boggy and flooded. The drainage was not 100%. There were signs of vehicles that found it difficult to get out, as there were deep ruts in the grass. Having a four wheel drive, that still proved a little difficult.
The facilities were spotless and extremely clean. Don't be put off by the porta-cabin style showers and toilets. They are 1st class.
The camp is a fair drive from Weymouth and Portland. But, to wake up to the sounds of just the birds singing is great.
There is a local pub just 200m up the road, which we did not use. Did eat at the Luggers, a few minutes drive away, which was excellent.
We would return.

A lovely site on a farm, but where they have a big flat field with great facilities. The showers and loos are plentiful, some being in portacabins but which are amazingly modern and clean. Like any where in August, they were well used and the rain always causes a bit of a problem, but it couldn't be helped. It's very near Dorchester and Weymouth, in the middle of beautiful countryside, and we would definitely return. The prices are very reasonable compared to others in the area.

A lovely peaceful campsite situated in a very pretty part of Dorset. The site is split into two with the top section nearest the entrance populated by seasonal caravans the second section is a mixture of pitches for tents motorhomes and tourers.
There are very good toilet and showers in the main block at the entrance where there is also a washing machine and dryer.
During the main season there are extra toilets and showers in portacabin blocks to cater for the second section.
There is a small play area for younger children.
The owner is very helpful and is available in his reception area if you need him.
My wife and I have stayed here twice this year in August and just lately in October and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet.
All types of pitches are on offer from fully serviced with electric waste water drain and fresh water to semi serviced with electric and fresh water to basic with no services.
The site is in a great position for visiting the Jurassic coast and all it has to offer. Weymouth is only 5 miles away. There is a bus service just outside the park gates and a local pub is a short stroll away in the village of Portesham.

Ten years ago we camped in this campsite, and had a really enjoyable time. We were concerned that the site would have changed beyond recognition, yet it had pleasantly improved and was just as welcoming.
The electrical pitch was rather small, and an inconsiderate camper was parked on half of our space until politely asked to move their vehicle. Spaces in August seemed rather tighly packed, with no firm definition of the pitch, yet most seemed to be thoughtful with parking of vehicles and additional trailers. The full set of rules was a positive thing, with the playpark not in use from 9pm and hushed voices from 10pm from all but a few campers. The sunsets over the surrounding hills were spectacular and the site was mowed, well tended and very clean and tidy.
Washing facilities were clean, well presented and with very hot water with great pressure. The washing machine and dryer was very effective, and the freezer for iceblocks was very handy. There were multiple leaflets for things to do in the area with additional emergency numbers. Reception at the farm was quaint and the owner and his daughter were very keen to help and assist with enquiries.
There was a fair drive to the nearest shops, either Dorchester Tesco's or Weymouth Sainsburys, Morrisons or Aldi, but as long as we were organised we would simply pop in on alternate days.
We will certainly be returning to Portesham, and would highly recommend the site to all.

West Fleet Holiday Farm - Weymouth
Set in 15 acres of breathtaking countryside, right next door to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, this site offers stunning views of the Chesil Bank, Fleet Lagoon, and Lyme Bay. Welcoming tents, motorhomes and caravans, this family friendly site offers spacious grass pitches with or without electric. For kids there's an outdoor heated swimming pool, 3 acre playing area including slides, swings and more.
Facilities include toilets, showers, washing up, launderette, and WifI. There is an onsite shop and off-licence. The Bar in the Barn at the site serves a delicious food and offers a variety of entertainment, including live music. As well as the attractions of Weymouth's beach and harbour, this is a great base to explore family attractions throughout South and West Dorset. Find out more here

Site located in lovely area about 6 miles from Weymouth in the village of Portesham which has a pub/restaurant but no shop. Facilities are excellent, good clean showers and toilets. The site is very quiet being sheltered from traffic noise. Excellent area for walking from the site or as a base for more extended visiting such as Dorchester Bridport etc. There is a coastal bus service that picks up in the village. TV reception is poor and there was no EE phone signal either if that is an issue for you. In the week I was there I never saw the owners a note was waiting me on arrival telling me my pitch number. I would certainly use this site again if I visit this area.

Second Year at this site.
Very clean and tidy site, after initial check-in at the next door Reception you never really see any staff.
The first part of the site is for Seasonal caravans with a purpose built Toilet-Block with 2 toilets and 3 showers cubicles. The second half is the touring and tenting half, this has a porta-cabin toilet block which is usually clean but it only has 2 toilets and 2 shower cubicles.
This cannot manage on a Friday and the weekends in Season. The 1st purpose built toilet block is also busy as the seasonal caravaners all seam to use it even though they all have big fancy caravans with toilets and showers but are to tight to use their own gas.
This site should definitely have 2 more showers and toilets for the camping field. Even if they only opened them at weekends and fully in High-season.
Nothing worse than waiting for a toilet and then a shower.
Otherwise a good site and well placed
A couple of waste bins in the camping field as well!

This is definitely one of the best kept sites we have stayed on. The facilities are spotless and modern, although the showers in the 'portacabin' block were not draining properly. The pitches are level and spacious.
Check in is stated as being after 1. 00pm but we arrived at 11. 45 and it was no problem - the owner being very welcoming. A laundry room and a chest freezer for ice packs - very handy. There is a small play area for kids, but we found most were happy to run around the site. The site rules are quite extensive but fair - just wish it incorporated a rule that stated children should stop screaming after 10. 00pm!
There are no shops within walking distance and the nearest supermarket is in Weymouth some 15-20 mins drive away - not a problem - just be warned that you need to stock up before you arrive!
There is only one pub in the village - The Kings Arms - which is 5 mins walk from the site, it is what I would call a 'Gastropub' - it is not a traditional pub as I know them. It is, however, a lovely building and has a beautiful huge garden. The menu claims that all produce is locally sourced. The prices are, as you would expect, bordering on the high side given that they have a captive customer base. For instance the Breakfast Menu comes in at £7. 95 for a basic Full English - Beans are an extra £1! - lets hope they are locally sourced too!

Entrance a little offputting, as all you can see is a high wire fence round a caravan storage area - but then you go through onto a nice big flat field, trees all around. No staff about but envelope left ready for us at reception with all the information we needed, and could pick our own pitch.
Facilities absolutely excellent - last time we encountered such palatial showers and toilets it was on a Caravan Club site on the Sandringham estate, which cost precisely twice as much!
We didn't use a hookup or wifi, but there was mobile reception OK. Nice pub a couple of hundred yards away, didn't eat there as there was very little in the way of veggie options.
Will certainly come again.

Fab site, came here 2 years ago and still as good as ever. Clean, plentiful facilities, two blocks of showers, toilets and washing up. Laundry room in main block, freezer for ice packs. Water always hot. Grass mown regularly and the whole site looks well tended. Generous pitch sizes. Would always stay here when visiting this area. As a single person was charged £8 per night which is good considering the standard of the site. Handy for Abbotsbury. Not much in Portesham village - though the pub is only a couple of minutes walk. Not been there so don't know what the food is like. Abbotsbury is just up the road with a useful village shop though I quite enjoyed driving to Bridport to Morrisons for the fantastic views along that road! Can't fault the site.
