This site has such a lovely setting and a lovely feel to it. Despite having no play area it was easy to get to the local playpark via little paths. There was even a full blown skate park there for teenagers. You could virtually fish from the tent! Evenings were magical with all the bird life and the sun setting.Kids loved it!
Pitches on riverside don't have hookup which meant it was mostly tents along the banks which was lovely!
Facilities clean and standard - loo of the year pictures up on the wall! Shop didn't seem to open much but we did manage to order our papers.
Will definitely revisit for a weekend

If you follow the instructions in the C&CC sites book you will arrive at the site with no problems. Do not be put off by the fact that you appear to be on a housing estate, as when you reach the site which is sign posted (brown signs ), it opens up to a nice riverside side. What was surprising was that even after a relatively dry week the site still had standing water in some places in June and some pitches were unavailable. There is construction of hard standing pitches taking place, but notice says no work on Saturdays or Sundays ( they didn't work Monday either when we went .Builders eh ! ). Staff helpful and found us a drier pitch for the tent. Facilities up to usual standards, and pitches level. Rest of site well kept. Riverside setting with a pleasant walk into St Neots which has numerous pubs and shops. Would return to site, but would have to be after a long dry spell.

Lovely peaceful location on the banks of the river, although may be a problem with very young children.
5 minutes walk to a large park. Short walk to a pub, fish & chip shop etc. Alternatively walk along the river bank to a pub restaurant (take your torch for on the way back).
Clean toilet and showers. Good washing Up facilities.
Small basic shop catering mainly for fishermen.

Well our first camping trip ever turned into a wonderful experience! What a wonderful site - clean, tidy, friendly and very welcoming! As we were only going for one night we arrived early - no probs just paid the extra £5. With the awful weather in June, we were faced with limited pitch availability however the site manager gave us the best pitch on site! The facilities on the site were very good - extremely clean shower /toilets blocks irrelevant of the time of day or night that you needed them. Only 10 minute walk through the park into the town of St Neots - wonderful town with very "different" shops! Only thing to let this site down was the directions - I suggest you turn right at the traffic lights just after Marks and Spencers, follow the road down, bear to the right at the first roundabout, follow this road to the top and turn left opposite the church (go straight on and it is a NO ENTRY) - the camp site is on the right hand side just after YUM YUM and the Chinese takeaway. Great pubs serving food and good beer in the town! Super site which we will be re-visiting again and again!

This is a lovely site. The showers, loos and dish washing facilities were of a very high standard. As a woman camping on her own, even at a busy time, I felt wanted and safe.
Lovely riverside setting with an easy walk into the centre of St Neots. Lots of wildlife and boats.
Over the bank holiday the site was full with all types of unit which was so nice to see.
The only problem was finding site, but the local garage put me on the right path. It seems the local council won't allow more signs - shame on them! It is well worth the effort to get here. You will not be disappointed.

Just returned from a weekend here, and can only think of one word to describe it - Wonderful! very friendly staff often to be seen around the site, bins emptied regular, toilets and showers were spotless and cleaned regular. looking around the site it did seem quite busy, but you wouldn't have thought so due to lack of queues for toilet etc. The site itself, is situated right on the river, we saw a few boats passing by, both motorised and row boats, seemed to be plenty of small fish swimming around the edge - can only guess there must be bigger ones nearer the centre in deeper water. All in all, we had a wonderful weekend, and will look forward to returning in the future.

Just returned from the site. Trust your instincts and the directions and you will turn up at a very friendly site. Site very well kept. Toilets blocks immaculate and cleaned every day. Wardens friendly and helpful. Site quiet and peaceful good for strolls for two unruly youngsters. The town itself has a good variety of shops and pubs. Tried the Bridge bar on the river, very relaxing drinking beer and wishing I also had a boat. Market on Thursdays was a mixture of clothes and veg. Fairly small but worth a visit. To summarise its well worth a visit

What a fantastic site! The two toilet/shower blocks were open and spotless, in fact the whole site was very well kept and the friendly staff very helpful. We were only there 1 night but managed to do a bit of walking with the kids. The site is on the riverbank where you can fish or just feed the ducks and swans, and a 5 minute walk takes you to a play park for smaller children whereas if you cross the footbridge you'll find a huge park with a play park for slightly older children, the biggest bmx / skateboard park I've ever seen, and the big Tesco is only a 5 minute drive down the road. One of the best things about this site was that there were no yobs keeping everyone up until the early hours which was great for getting the kids to bed! Well done camping and caravanning club!

This site was surprisingly difficult to find, the caravan signs direct you through a housing estate! However once arrived, the site is well maintained and wardens friendly and helpful. Pitches are grass or gravel hard standing. There appear to be two toilet blocks, but only one was open, and became rather crowded, for shower use. Dishwasher room and the chemical disposal point were clean and well maintained.
From the site its a 10 minute walk into the lovely town of St Neots with shops and supermarket. Try the museum in the tourist information building, its the old Police station, and has cells etc, together with local history & archaeology.
5 minutes from the site is a footbridge into a nature reserve (closed for repair during our visit), also a chinese restaurant, Pub and Fish & chip shop, although a fish & chip van visits the site on Fridays around 6pm. Public transport is good, every hour into Huntingdon from the Market place.

August 2005 Good site, ideal for families, great dog walks. Unfortunately it rained most of the weekend we were there but we would go again had a lovely meal in the mill tavern and a fantastic chinese take away all a minutes walk away. Easy 15mins walk to town centre where there's a good sellection of shops, pubs and resturants. One down side it was a bit expensive it cost us £59. For 2 nights,3 adults,2 dogs, awning and electric. But that was the high season. Still worth the visit. Pray for better weather next time.
