We love the St Neots Camping and Caravan Club site, it has become the go to site for our yearly meet up with old friends and their kids. It is spotless as are most CCC sites. What we like is it's close enough to walk into the pretty town of St Neots and if you walk down the bank of the river (site is right on the river)the other way for 10 mins you come to the Mill pub (that's what we call it) which is right on the river, great beer and food.

We try to time our visit in August to be at the same time as the towns dragon boat race festival, there is a fair and mini music fest also. Over the August bank holiday there is normally a night time river boat festival and the boats come by all lit up and the kids used to love waving to the passing boats.

All CCC sites tend to be a bit pricey but you can see where the money is spent, perfect trimmed grass, spotless showers and that's about it but sometimes that's all we want.

This was our second visit to this lovely riverside site, the first being 18 years ago! We liked it then and enjoyed it again this time. The riverside location is very pleasant, with a stream of boats passing by. The risk of flooding is made obvious by the raised Electric hook ups, but it was not a worry this year. Although the facilities look a little dated compared to some we have stayed at recently, they were clean and well maintained. The town centre is an easy walk from the site. Hopefully it will not be so long till we return here again. As there is a public footpath along the riverbank, we were surprised not to find combination locks on the toilet block doors, as on some club sites.

This was our third stay at this site in as many months and we've already booked to go back this coming bank holiday at the end of August, then again in mid September. (Being only 1 hour away it's great for weekend getaways). The Wardens are always welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, approaching everything in a very friendly and professional manner.

On site washing up facilities are both provided indoor and outdoor. Showering facilities are clean and kept tidy, only had to wait a couple of minutes to use a shower cubicle even during busy periods. There are two blocks either side of the site with both of these facilities and the usual chemical waste. Grass is kept tidy.

Location is perfect on the River Ouse, next to town park which is a nice route to town (20mins walk) and has a pond with ducks/swans with coffee shop and good playground facilities for children. Opposite direction along the river brings you to a weir/lock and a lovely pub with reasonably priced food (gets busy especially when the sun is shining, but worth the visit).

Fishing (in season) is available with day tickets directly from the site (need licence too). Plenty of area for taking dogs off site for walks in fields adjacent to site.

St Neots is a lovely small town with good variety of shops, restaurants/pubs, market on Saturday's with local produce. Excellent butcher in high street and Waitrose is located behind the High Street with car park. Long High Street, worth the walk to discover all the facilities, including M&S Food, Boots, etc.

Just one improvement I would like to see are recycling facilities provided in the bin areas to accommodate glass, cans, paper separately, but maybe this is already in hand.

Can't wait to come back!

This is a lovely site on the banks of the river Gt Ouse and within walking distance of St Neots. We had a friendly, informative welcome from the wardens and were shown to a very good pitch. We were glad of the shade from some nearby trees as the weather was very hot. The toilet/shower blocks were a little dated but cleaned to the usual high club standard. Although the site was very busy it was quiet and peaceful. There is plenty to do in the area and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Phew, just got back from a red hot night at St Neots. Just stayed one night as it was a bit of an impromptu trip due to the great weather.

The site has urban development all around but you'd never know it. Generally very quiet (I'll explain), just the put put of the odd boat gliding past. The site was very well presented, the grass nice a lush and the good amenities very clean. There were some basics products for sale in reception and they'll order you your paper if you like.

As mentioned elsewhere, just out of the site there is a bridge over the river which leads to a nice riverside park that leads to the town centre. The noise I referred to was some very load music that came from the stake park. I was worried that it may last well into the night due to the weather back it soon died down as the evening drew to a close.

A pleasant enough town but without any significant attraction. However, Grafham Water is only a short drive away which boasts water sports a cycle hire.

Can't believe we'd not been to St Neots Camping before but we will definitely return.

On the banks of the river and an easy flat walk to St. Neots town centre, although you access it through a housing estate it doesn't feel urban as it sits alongside St. Neots Riverside Park 'green corridor'. We stayed 2 nights as an extended stopover returning home from Lincolnshire as the site is easy to reach from the A1. Quite a big site, popular with anglers, two large toilet/shower blocks, clean and in good repair (although the shower control fell apart in one cubicle).

St. Neots itself is 15minutes walk, has all banks, shops, pubs, takeaways etc. We ate at the Bridge House which has a nice riverside terrace outside and a restaurant area overlooking the river. Prices were reasonable and the real ale good.

There are a lot of willow trees around the site which picked the time of our visit to seed, producing a day long 'snowstorm' of fluffy airborne seeds which got in everywhere - including the dog! Apparently this happens every year, worth bearing in mind as they could be irritating. Plenty of good dog walking directly from the site though, with rabbits to chase at no extra charge :-)

Spent a decent couple of days here during half-term week, Site was fairly quiet, I think it closes early November.

Weather was good but the pitches by the river were too boggy to pitch on, I guess this is an ongoing challenge for this site given it's proximity to the river.

Nice & quiet in the day and at night, only an owl for company during the night! We didn't use the toilet blocks much but they looked nice and clean.

As per other reviews, St Neots is a nice town 15 mins walk to the right along the river and a pub with food similar distance to the left. Take your wellies though if it's at all wet!

Chip shop, launderette and other pubs nearby but we didn't use them.

Fishing available but we didn't try, apparently you can also launch boats and swim in the river. We'll save that for warmer times!.

Local approach roads were fine through the housing estate.

Overall very pleased and would definitely visit again.

This is a great site on the banks of the River Ouse. Wardens are helpful, taking you to your choice of pitch. There are two sets of toilet/washing facilities, both up to usual high club standards, and the site has a small shop.

There were lots of families there when we stayed -although there's no on site kids area, there is a play area just outside the site.

You can pitch next to the river, but I'm a bit mosquito-phobic, so we pitched few yards back and were still able to watch the boats go by.

St Neots is an easy 15 minute walk via the river bank, Eaton Socon about the same distance the opposite way, with river and canal access. We had drinks at a canal site pub there.

Only down side - we ordered scampi and chips from the van that visits the site on Friday night - not very nice.

Lovely friendly welcome when we arrived. The warden was very apologetic about the state of the site because it had rained quite heavily and a lot of the site was muddy and wet.

We were allowed to choose our pitch and were informed about the site facilities and the town. We chose a pitch overlooking the river, beautiful watching the boats and barges sailing by.

Very impressed by how well the site was kept clean and looked after even though the weather was wet and everywhere was muddy.

St Neots is only a few minutes walk from the site and has everything you need. Very pleased and will return to this site again.

Easy to find via housing estate. Brisk reception seemed in a hurry, Very poor roads round the site, puddles ruts potholes etc. Hardstandings the same. Sand mud grit stones and large pebbles all made it seem a bit slippy.

High shower heads and poor spray of water, floor

Uncomfortable to stand on. Building cold.

15/20 min walk into St Neots, Good range of shops and Market on Thursday.

Bus to Cambridge on time and clean.

Would be better in high summer with boats etc enjoying the waterways.

A bit expensive for what's an site.
