What a beautiful site. Good level ground with well maintained grass area. Facilities are fab and very clean. Lots of lovely walks and some great pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. This is fab for a nice chilled and quiet holiday! Will definitely be coming back again

I have just returned from a 2 night stay in our folding caravan and thought the site was lovely. The site assistant was very friendly and helped me get my van onto the pitch - it was just me and my children.
I cannot understand the negative comments about this site, especially the access roads. Yes you come in through a housing estate and the road is a little narrow but it was fine, considering it was my first time towing it cant have been that bad!
We had a hardstanding pitch, the 6metre is strictly enforced as the unit, awning and car had to be within the pitch and not over the stones. This was a bit tricky so I didn't put the awning up. Really the pitches are a little small to expect you to keep unit, car and awning inside but to be honest it didn't really matter and is only a tiny niggle.
Facilities lovely and clean, we had plenty of hot water in the shower and no stupid push button which is always nice! Dishwashing area was nice - in a separate room, nice and warm.
Ten minute walk into town, lovely river walks and parks for the kids.
No playground or much to do for kids on site so they had to play outside and use their imaginations 😊. Really quiet and peaceful.
Would definitely return

Excellent site. We were made welcome and could choose our site. Easy access to St Neots and lovely walks from the site.
Facilities clean and tidy.
Trust your sat nav if you use one but the site directions are fairly easy to follow through the housing estate to the site!
We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely site bordered by river, so maybe not a great place for young children. Level easy walk into pretty market town of st neots with excellent range of shops and eateries. Bus into Cambridge every half hour. Plenty of space and good shower block, though only 3 showers we didn't have to queue even when site was pretty much full. Lovely staff. Looking forward to another visit.

Not too well signposted, tucked away at the back of houses, we had to ask directions for final half a mile and someone asked us for directions the following day. Could do with a big sign!
Lovely quiet country site, plenty of lovely dog walks, really pretty surroundings, felt like we were in the middle of nowhere when we were actually within waking distance of a high-street with loads of shops, banks, pubs etc.
Lots of Staff, all very helpful. They gave us directions to the fishing tackle shop(walking distance) and even lent us a map.
We got to choose our pitch and no silly rules about what way round to park so we could make the most of the river views.
Facilities all good
Our pitch was hard standing electric, close to the river and toilet block. The basins in the toilet block were all in individual cubicles, no hand soap so you had to remember to take your own soap if you popped in to spend a penny and wanted to wash your hands!
The site had a lovely welcoming feel and I had a good feeling about it from the second we arrived.
The fishing was not very good as the river was very weedy. It is more for winter piking.
A freezer for my ice blocks would of been handy. More expensive than most club sites at £55 for 2 nights but the facilities were good and clean and lots of staff keeping it in tip top condition so you get what you pay for.
I would definitely return but hubby was not impressed with the fishing

Stayed for 3 nights on a unserviced grass pitch near the river. Good points - great location with excellent riverside pub up stream and pleasant town down stream. Both easy walking distance. Staff very helpful. Not so good - grass on the long side and facilities stretched at peak times (first time, as a man I've ever had to queue for a sit down loo!). The facilities block closest to the reception seemed the quietest if you can't wait. Visited Hamerton zoo park one day, about 15 miles away, and walked into St Neots the other. Both recommended.
Would definitely stay again.

This site has a great location we used it as a base for canoeing on the Great Ouse, easy access to the river and some lovely tranquil spots especially upstream. The site itself was the usual camping and caravanning standard although the toilet blocks were clean but a little tired.
As other reviews have said be aware that a footpath runs alongside the river bank and on a nice day you will have a steady stream of people walking past your pitch.
St Neots itself is a hidden gem, the site has an easy stroll along the river bank into the town centre with lots of shops and good places to eat.
The site is part of the riverside park which is great for walking and cycling with easy access to a national cycle route and three play parks. Something for everyone.

To Find Site:- From both north and south on A1 exit onto A428 signed for Cambridge. At second roundabout (Tesco on left) take first left towards St Neots. Continue across several mini roundabouts. Look out for campsite sign and turn left into Hardwick Road. This leads you through a housing estate so care is required because of parked cars. At end of road, at T junction, turn left. Pass playground on right and once past car park the road narrows to campsite but it’s only a short distance.
St Neots C&CC campsite is situated on the banks of the River Great Ouse a short distance from the town of St Neots. There are around 170 pitches on a mixture of grass and hardstandings. The hardstandings are not particularly wide so they will not accept unit, car, awning side by side. All are reasonably flat. Some of the site roads are a bit rough and some parts of the site are quite dark at night so a torch is recommended. There are two toilet blocks, one next to reception and another towards the river. Only the one next to reception was open during our stay but as they are of the same design I imagine internally they will be the same. They are clean and functional rather than luxurious, the men’s could certainly do with a more modern hand drier! This block also houses a covered washing up area, which also doubles as an information room. In the same block there is a laundry room. There are three water and waste water points dotted around the site but the only chemical disposal points are at the toilet blocks. There is a motorhome service area but the waste point is raised which could prove difficult depending on the ability to get motorhome drain into position, a hose might prove useful. Electric points are available to most pitches and these are raised off the ground because of the risk of river flooding. Reception sell a few essentials, they also provide a useful local map of the St Neots area. There is site wide WiFi and time may be purchased online or at reception. Mobile reception seemed to be quite good. For those that like to fish day tickets can be purchased from reception. As a public footpath runs along the riverbank through the site it might be worth considering the security of cycles and other personal belongings if they are left unattended. There are no children's play facilities on site but the adjacent park play facilities to suit all ages.
The town centre of St Neots is about a fifteen minute walk from the site with route options on both sides of the river. There is quite a good selection of shops including a couple of small department stores. There are numerous pub/restaurants and well as a good selection of coffee shops. For food shopping there is a Waitrose and an M&S Simply Food in the town centre. St Neots is on the main Oxford to Cambridge bus route for those wishing to explore further afield using public transport. There is also rail connections from the town to Kings Cross. Direct from the site you can walk along the River Great Ouse both up and down stream although good walking shoes/boots would be recommended if going upstream as the path can be muddy. The path toward St Neots is tarmac.

Have just visited this lovely little campsite neatly tucked away close to the River Ouse. Tranquillity personified! Awake to the sound of birds and relax by the river. Heard the first cuckoo of the year who was obviously looking for a mate!
Excellent dog walks along the river with plenty of sign posted footpaths. Riverside pub look good but didn't par-take. Open 12-00 till 11pm I think.
Very good facilities, piping hot free showers and spotless loo and hand basins. Didn't use washing up facilities so can't comment.
Friendly and very helpful wardens. Thank you for sorting out booking Shelia.
Highly recommend this site. We will be back very soon.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at St Neot's. We chose it as a late getaway due to good weather forecast and it's proximity to home, being only half an hour away. The site was easy to find and looked pleasing as we entered. The wardens were very friendly and helpful, showing us to a selection of pitches near to the river. They told us not to rush off by 12 on Sunday just pop to reception and check there's not too many due to turn up and we could leave at our leisure. Much appreciated. Toilets were clean and well located as were water, waste, bins etc. Nice site by the river, plenty of boats going by, could hear music on Friday night from skate park but didn't go on late at all and really was not an issue. Only slight negative is the site could do with a children's playground, there is one only a couple of minutes walk away but as its accessible through woods or along the approach road it's not suitable for young children to go to without adults accompanying them. Overall a very pleasant site in a nice area and would visit again.
