I stayed here with my two young sons for 4 nights, incorporated a visit to kemble air show - it was a perfect location for this.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the shop very useful. We chose a pitch close to the washrooms (which were clean and plentiful) was flatter than other sites. The boys were told they were the most helpful campers yet as they enjoyed washing up in the special room! the rabbits hopping around just made this site lovely! there was plenty of room for football too!

Although we had a very enjoyable stay, the site is as previously stated very close to a very busy, noisy road. The toilet and shower facilities in our opinion, although adequate could have been cleaner. The site is within easy access to many beautiful areas, however other than the small site shop, there are no local shops, pubs or restaurants within walking distance.

Very nice site, but echo some previous reviews about the traffic noise, however, you do get used to it. Toilet / shower block very clean, gently sloping pitches were fine not too steep. Site close to cirencester and surrounds, perfect to tour the cotswolds,

What a fantastic site, slightly sloping but most pitches are level and hardstanding, good. Clean toilets and showers (recently extended) and VERY welcoming, helpful staff.
The on-site shop is very small and only has the basics but there is a small shop about a mile away which sells more or less everything you could need.
The owners were more than helpful when we found out we could not take our new caravan home due to the snow, and let us leave it on site for a week (in fact it was 2 weeks as a week later they had snow on-site).
Lovely location to explore the Cotswolds and especially Cirencester.
We will definitely be back.

Having just spent 5 lovely days on a rally at this site, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful and did everything they could to ensure our rally went smoothly.
The site was well maintained and clean.
Although some reviewers have mentioned the noise from the road, we did not find this a problem although it might be for people in tents.
The owners offer cooked meals for a very reasonable price and all our members said that theirs was excellent. Mine certainly was tasty and there was plenty of it.

We Received a nice warm reception on arrival.
Very spacious area for tents but 24 hour traffic noise on nearby trunk road which was a little intrusive.
The only problem for me was the water could have been hotter, although for my wife it was ok.
Lots to do in the area.
The shop was very small and limited but there was a good one in the nearby village.
Would visit again and certainly recommend.

Owners Comments
Thanks again to all those who take the time & trouble to review our campsite. Situated in an AONB we are severely restricted in what physical changes we can make on the park but I would just like to answer one or two points from previous reviewers.
There are in fact 5 toilets in the Ladies, another two at the far end, and we do have a quiet between 11pm & 8am rule - now published on our website. We also ask that any problems are brought to our attention, so would have been happy to deal with the inconsiderate group of campers had we been made aware. Unfortunately our neighbour with his helicopter just had a particularly busy time last weekend!

Having struggled to find a campsite that would accept four families with very large tents I was delighted to stumble across the team who manage this site. From the initial booking the chap that took my details was friendly and informed me that although there was no playground there was plenty of space for the children to play in the field. There was indeed plenty of space and a paddock with horses too (be careful if you kick the ball over - it's an electric fence!).
There were plenty of water points and a tiny shop selling the bare essentials namely milk and wine! We didn't try the home-cooked food but there was a huge queue of people waiting to give their orders when our friends arrived. One has to assume it has a good reputation!
The campsite owners were also keen to point out the recycling facility at the rear of the toilet block, another great thing in my opinion!
The toilet / laundry / dishwashing block was immaculately clean and had the welcome addition of a family / disabled toilet / shower room - a must with a baby and a toddler! There were only three loos in the ladies though (plenty of showers) which may be an issue when the site is busy.
There were a few negative points for our group and it's easier just to list them:
1. The VERY busy road which has traffic all day and all night
2. The camping field is quite steep we had to pitch right at the top of the field for the most level area and were thus as far away from the loos as was possible!
3. The (assumed) helipad in the field behind us gave the children plenty of opportunities to see a helicopter but they were active from about 6am when we were there.
All in all our group had a good time despite the negative things listed above. I don't think we will visit the site again mainly as there are so many other sites to try.

Just returned today from Mayfield Park. Although not quite what I expected though. Granted, the pitches are well set out with gravel on most of the caravan ones and grass at the side but lots of them are sloping and make it hard to straighten your van up, in fact the caravans on seasonal pitches are a good foot in the air on breezeblocks!
The welcome from the lady in reception was also a bit miserable and I wasn't told where the toilets or water points etc were apart from what number to pitch on and to make sure I stuck to the rule of scanning your pass at the barrier both in and out every time. The shop/office was also quite messy with papers all over the desk, a few items of food on a shelf and not that welcoming either.
Last night there was noise from people in tents until 2am (they had pitched in the field behind the caravan pitches) which I found unacceptable as the park had no rules on noise - they had plenty of other rules about payment and cancellation fees though! This, coupled with the constant and loud noise from the A417/9 which was only a few yards away, made it a very long and tiring night.
The toilet block has been refurbished/extended and was to an acceptable standard and the pitch fee was about average for a site of this standard.
On our way out the incline is very steep onto the fast running road alongside and pulling out means you scratch the underside and back of your van so beware and drive carefully if you visit this site!
Overall, the site was OK, it tends to cater for the year-round park homes which there are lots and for people who have pitched tourers for the full season. I doubt we will return as there are plenty of other sites to try close by which offer the same if not better value for money and hopefully a bit of a friendler warden!

We have just spent 2 nights at this site. Upon arrival check in was effortless with a barrier card given (£10 deposit) and a choice of pitches given. As the site is on a hill (well more a gentle slope), we chose a pitch toward the bottom near to the shower blocks to make trips to the loos/showers easier & quicker (we have 2 children, 12 & 3).
As pitches are on a slight slope it can be a little awkward but we just pitched so we were feet down in bed!
There is a busy road which can be heard and I would imagine can be seen from the pitches towards the top of the site although we couldn't see it from our pitch. The traffic on this road is endless, even throughout the night, although this was not a problem for us or the children as we live in a very urban area, it may be something for you to consider.
Showers, toilets, washing up facilities were clean and adequate. Showers were free to use.
There was no play area on site but as the site was relatively quiet our children made good use of the field, however in busier periods I am not sure they would have had the freedom to run around, play ball, etc.
Cirencester is only 5 mins away in the car and you can even walk to it, although we tried but the field was bogged out (probably following the weekend of rain we've just had).
We tried the local pub the Bathurst Arms for food but when we got the menu it didn't really cater for children so we left, but the food on the menu sounded delicious and would have stayed had it only been me & the hubbie. There are other pubs in the area but as it was getting late and we had a hungry 3 year old, we didn't try them and opted for food back at the tent.
This is a clean, quiet site but a few days was just enough for us, although we had a lovely relaxing time. Would recommend to family and friends for a short break.
