Lovely site, lovely people. We stayed here over the new year period and found the site to be all that it promised. Next door to the Cirencester Golf Club where a warm welcome awaits - in stark contrast to the Burford Golf Club near where we last stayed.
We spent a quiet new years break here and were met with all cordiality by the wardens. Suffering an electrical problem late on new year's day, we were forced to break camp and hightail it back home to Derbyshire but not without concerned offers of assistance from the wardens.
Looks like a great site to visit and tour the Cortswolds during summer months so we shall be back in due course.

Brilliant managers, Paul and Dawna. You will not meet a nicer, helpful more informative people when it comes to looking after their clients.
The shower block is is first class all the way. Spotless, clean and tidy. With music whilst having your shower. The bus stops are just about 100 yards out the front gate.
The parks also has seasonals rentals and storage facilities.
The park in general is clean and well kept. The managers do a superb job of all of the park.
I would highly recommend giving this park a try. Just to see for yourself.

I found Mayfield Caravan Park on UKcampsites, it had good reviews, pictures looked lovely. But the reality when we arrived was a different picture, constant traffic noise 24/7.
When I booked in and paid for 3 nights, I was not warned about the steepness of the grass pitch, which was too steep to level our van, the wooden blocks used by others, were not offered.
It was too steep for me to comfortably walk down to the shower block or office, so they gave us a level, hard-standing, but more expensive rate. Due to family illness we had to cancel, but were refused refund of the 2 days already paid.
I would not recommend this site, for a peaceful break in Cirencester, which we had hoped for.

We wanted to take the kid's on their first camping trip and we really couldn't have picked a better place as everything exceeded our expectations. It was miles away from the standard of campsite I remember from my childhood!
We were all made to feel welcome from the moment we set foot on the site, everything was explained to us and we were made to feel that no request would be a problem.
The campsite itself is clearly laid out, well maintained, spacious, with all the facilities you could require and they are absolutely spotless. Honestly, I went with my fiance and 2 girls, very fussy (hope they don't see that) and they were more than happy to use the showers and toilets!
Mayfield was recommended to us and I will be recommending it to others!
We will go back again very soon.

Stayed a couple of nights on way to Dorset. Lovely little site. It does a bit of a slope on it but we had the flattest pitch we've ever had, it was also fully serviced. We received a very friendly welcome and easily found our pitch. The toilet block was spotless and the showers hot. The site was quiet and we had a chilled couple of days.
Its not far into town where there are plenty of shops and take aways.

We stayed at this site for a couple of nights, but soon returned for an extended break.
I like this site for many reasons:
1) The location is great - easy to access, (I read a reviewer below about proximity to the main road - understandable, but personally I found it a bonus, and never even noticed road noise). The park provides a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We visted so many places.
2) They have super-pitches with water, drainage and hook-up, which offer space and convenience. The pitches are level, and a mix of grass and gravel (which I love cos I like the grass instead of just feeling like I'm pitched on a car park!).
3) The 'ablutions' are clean, warm, and free - good pressure free hot showers with space to keep clothes dry etc. Private cubicles. Clean toilets. Nice and warm, and background music.
4) Great facilities - laundry, recycling, a CLEAN chem disposal point, washing up facilities etc. There is FREE wifi in the hotspots near to reception, they have a mini-shop (in reception - stocks the 'essentials', they sell gas should you run out, there is access to a chest freezer to store frozen bits and bobs as required, there's a dog walking field too.
5) They have a tourist / visitor room, with info and flyers about the surrounding area, a book with recommendations from other campers for pubs, restaurants, takeaways etc. All the local takeaway delivery menus, dvds and books to borrow, a map book etc. REALLY useful for new to the area visitors.
6) The 'seasonal' campers are really friendly.
7) The Managers Paul and Dawna are lovely and so much fun. - Paul gave us some lessons in reversing the outfit (as we're new to this), and also loaned us a peg hammer when we forgot ours. Dawna gave us a smile and a wave whenever she saw us, and checked we were ok and needed nothing. She was constantly on the go making sure everything was clean and tidy.
We've stayed twice now, and both visits have been brilliant - we'll definitely be going back!

Previous reviews tempted us to try this site, describing it as 'quiet', but with four lanes of the A417 on a flyover some couple of hundred yards away, it is anything but. In fact, we had to buy earplugs to enable us to sleep!
The previous ruling about no dogs in tents has been changed to 'quiet well-behaved dogs' allowed, but no-one told the three dogs which were tied up outside a tent and which yapped until around 9pm. Also, no-one told the dogs' owner as we opened the curtains one morning to see a dog on a lead squatting outside our van, squeezing out its morning offering.
We had cause to mention to the managers about some flooding in the toilet block, but there was no word of thanks, just 'Well, I was in there all afternoon and it was okay. Then'.
On the positive side, the site is small and quiet apart from the traffic and some dogs, the washroom facilities are above average, though two of the showers only trickle warm water, the touring pitches are reasonably level and it is very convenient for Cirencester.

We stayed here for the weekend of the Royal International Air Tattoo. What a great place, very friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. The facilities were some of the cleanest we've ever experienced. The showers and loos get cleaned every hour ! The only negative was the position of our pitch, we were on No 11 which is right by the toilets and showers so there were lots of people walking past and it was fairly noisy, this wasn't a problem, just a little noisy at times. I would recommend this site to everybody, I'd give it a ten out of ten and would definitely stay here again. Can't praise it enough.

Bit pricy, but very friendly and helpful staff, level pitches (not in the top field though which is rather steep and it is difficult to level a tent), very clean facilities. Limited play possibilities for little children. Dogs welcome. Close to Cirencester and very convenient for touring the Cotswolds.

Stayed for a week on this beautiful clean site. Staff were very friendly and we're always about to help out and nothing was a problem for them to help you. Site was on hard standing in a rural area but was first class for friendliness, cleanliness all facilities were spotless. Will certainly return again as we were made so welcome by everyone great site and lovely area. Gus & Valerie
