I arrived here on 9 June in the early evening in my Romahome camper van without booking. I was glad to be placed near the facilities, as requested, and affirm they were clean and welcoming. Hook-ups were available.
Wifi is provided but I had difficulty picking it up. However, the charming staff in the office invited me to sit in their office so I could make deal with internet matters and make phone calls.
I only needed the one night but liked the atmosphere and even perhaps a sense of fun conveyed by the two charming ladies in the office. I would readily come again.
I didn't see the playground and indeed didn't explore the site fully because of my short stay,
I definitely would recommend this campsite.

On the evening of 5 June 2015 it was getting dark and I was lost and desperate to find somewhere to stay. I came across Mayfield Park and asked if they had a cabin I could use for the night. The answer was no but that I could use a caravan. Unfortunately I didn't have any bedding with me but the managers, Dawna and Paul, quickly found me a towel, sheets, and brand new pillows and duvet for me to use. Dawna could see that I was very stressed and even insisted on making the bed for me. She provided me with milk and tea bags and they even bought me a Chinese meal when they bought their own dinner from a local takeaway shop.
I found all the facilities that I used such as the shower, toilet, laundry room and the caravan itself were spotlessly clean and modern. The park was obviously well cared for and presented with mowed lawns and flowers.
The caravan was equipped with all the amenities I required and the kindness of Dawna and Paul made my last night's stay in the UK both enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend Mayfield Park as a place to stay.

We found the site to be well located for a weekend break in the Cotswolds. It was peaceful, well appointed and the booking arrangements were handled efficiently. It was nice to be met by the friendly site manager on our arrival, even late on a Friday evening. The site has a barrier controlled entry so is very secure.
We were given a fully serviced pitch on a gravel hardstanding and although it had a slight slope we were able to level the van with risers. The facilities block had been refurbished by the new owners just a few weeks prior to our stay and they have done a very good job, with cleanliness and a range of facilities on a par with those found in more expensive Club Sites run by the Camping & Caravanning Club. The site offers good value for money and we have no hesitation in recommending it.

We stayed here while hiring a motorhome for 5 nights. We stayed during a winter month so were lucky that they had hard standings available with hook up.
This is billed as a 4* site - the washroom facilities were certainly very clean, smelt very nice and the shower was good. The site was also clean and well kept.
We were meant to be staying elsewhere at a pub stopover but took one look at it and thought no way so were delighted when the new owners of this site confirmed they could fit us in and also didn't mind us arriving in the dark (about 1930hrs).
The owners have only had the site a few weeks, they were found to be welcoming and accommodating.
The site itself is located close to Cirencester - which we didn't visit. We did make use of the route on the minor roads across to Bourton on the Water which is very picturesque and well worth a visit.
The touring site is split into about 3 areas, the top field is easily the largest and looks good for summer camping. The lower two areas seem to be for caravans and motorhomes. This area is quite compact and was almost full - each van had it's own hard standing. The road noise from the adjacent A road is quite obvious, however we were so tired that it didn't disturb our sleep.
To summarise-good, clean and does the job but somehow lacking the wow factor - whether that be location/views.

Stayed for just one night. New owners had just taken over. We were warmly welcomed on a snowy afternoon. Site was very up together and the toilet block really clean. We had hook-up and water at our pitch There is an hourly bus into Cirencester. We will be returning to this site and I wish them every success.

Third time here in what I would regard as a nice clean, friendly site not far from Cirencester and although the site was just about full there were no noisy campers. Yes the road noise is there but it sends you to sleep in the end. There is an hourly bus service to Cirencester however our bus failed to show but the lady in reception ran us into town, now that's what I call a friendly service. Paid £20/night with ehu.

Stayed here for a week as a 'half way break' on the way from North Yorkshire to Tregarton Park in Cornwall.
I booked an all hard standing pitch which had more than enough space for the caravan, the awning and the car, all side by side. We had our own water tap on the pitch, which saved all that lugging around of the water barrel; the toilets were kept in A1 condition; there were excellent facilities for dish washing and clothes washing, and despite the site's proximity to a major road, the road noise didn't affect us in any way at all. It's only a short trip from the site into Cirencester, which has a wide range of shopping facilities, and there are some lovely Cotswold Villages, such as Bourton on the Water, within easy driving distance.
I would certainly consider spending longer there, and treating it as a holiday base, rather than just an extended stopover.

After leaving Somerset Saturday morning of the bank holiday weekend we toured around the area heading north and only came to stay at mayfield late in the day after ringing round several sites in the are a on arrival the warden was extremely friendly and informative our pitch was on the top field which has quite a slope and not having any levelling blocks were offered some concrete blocks which made things a bit better ( note to self get LEVELLING BLOCKS ) the site is spotlessly clean shower blocks and laundry facilities were great and there is also a small area to let your dogs off the lead Nellie our Labrador loved this. You can certainly hear the major road from the site but to be honest after about 5 minutes we had forgotten all about it. The site is about 6 miles from Cirencester which is well worth a visit mayfield park is a really nice site with a great warden and nice amenities well worth the site fee of £20

Have just returned from a 3 day break. Found this site by accident as it was not listed as being on a bus route. Now rectified. Buses every hour from just outside the entrance. As my wife has difficulties in walking I asked for a pitch as close to the gate as possible. The owner reserved the nearest one for us and couldn't have been more helpful. A beautiful site, large pitches with water tap on each pitch. We found it very peaceful. A little road noise but did not worry us. The toilet/shower block was excellent. As members of both the two main caravan clubs that are now getting very expensive we are finding sites like this one are really good value for money. Have already recommended it to other motorhome/caravanners.

I and my partner stayed here for just one night as part of a tour around the Cotswolds.
The owner quoted a price of £10 to stay for one day (it should have been £15) But true to his word as he'd made a mistake, that's what we were charged & wouldn't except the extra fiver, what a nice chap!
The hard standing pitch we were on was superb, we had electric, fresh drinking water & the facility to drain grey waste all outside our door. A light at night illuminated where we were parked, which I thought was comforting especially compared to other pitch black sites we've stayed at.
The toilet block was very clean, nicely heated (at this time of year) showers had wooden standing areas & a stool to help while getting dressed after showering. Always does my head in when I have to get dressed on a sopping wet floor, not the case here.
Round the back of the toilet block can be found a chemical toilet empting area, clothes washing & recycling of waste rubbish etc.
There is a small shop that can provide some basic food items, soaps, shampoo, drinks inc booze! etc + various other essential camping items (if you forgot to pack them) available for hire.
We were provided with info on local bus routes in to Cirencester, which we took advantage of(saves packing up all your stuff to leave) The 51 bus runs regularly between the site & Ciren' and the kind Stagecoach driver even dropped us off right outside the entrance (in the dark) on the way back.
Others have mentioned the noise, which I did hear, but for me was not a problem.
To be honest my only gripe was that I had no internet connection on my phone, but this is hardly the fault of the owner!
All in all. Well recommended.
