Our first visit to this site over the cold and snowy Easter holiday.
Good clean site and facilities but, in our opinion, suffers from road noise from the very near A417 dual carraigeway (we are used to hearing a pin drop at night where we live)
Could see this being an issue in the better weather when sitting outside.

We visited the site for the first time on 10th August for the Friday and Saturday night. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly guy (the site owner) who let us in the secure barrier and checked us in. He was very helpful and friendly and obviously cared genuinely whether or not we were to be made welcome or not. He explained where everything was, including facilities on the site and local points of interest. There is a shop on site which sells everything you would need, and a toilet/shower block which has several showers toilets, a family room, ironing and washing up. All of these are spotlessly clean and are obviously cleaned regularly throughout the day and evening. The tent field has a great view of the valley especially from the top where we were. There are no children's play areas but the field is large enough for them to create their own entertainment without being intrusive. The site is well situated for local towns and villages like Cirencester, Cricklade, and a must is the new Cotswold Water Park where there are shops, lovely country walks and Cable Skiing (Water Skiing without a boat). All in all Mayfield is a very clean, quiet, and welcoming site which we will definitely visit again and would have no hesitation in recommending to others. We had a great weekend !

We stayed in this very nice camp site in July 2007 and must say that we were bowled over by the kindness of the welcome ! The home-cooked food was delicious !The showers were hot and very clean. These folks know to look after the weary traveller ! We wish all campsite were like this one ! We would have stayed there longer if we could have and will definitely return when next we are in the area. Declan and Valerie

Spent 2 days here nice site. Only problem, the tent site is on a hill and we were at the top of it, so going to the toilet or having a shower you need to do it in one hit. Also some road noise which you can hear from the motorway. Toilets and showers spotless and owners very friendly and helpful.

Very good site. As we were trying to find the caravan club site and got lost. We just pulled up just to ask directions at first. We were too tired to do any more traveling (got too children one 15 months and another five weeks old now), so asked if any pitches were free. Best thing we ever did as worked out to be cheaper and what we wanted for a weekend. Facilities are excellent as cleanliness was very good. Very friendly owners. Who were very happy to answer queries and questions we had. Asked if they could recommend a good local pub they recommended the plough inn that was ideal for families. Toilet block very clean look like they have had a recent refit which is good. Dish washing facilities spotless (a lot of people with tents when we went). No actual playground but plenty of space. Had set aside land think they were trying to encourage wildlife e.g birds and butterflies which I love. On site shop small we used it only to get ice cream for our toddler. Dog walking area good wish we had taken our dog. Local shop key store very friendly local people.ideal location for walking holidays and access to Cirencester. Would recommend to all family and friends (all my family have got touring vans)

Very friendly staff. Well managed site. Good hot showers. Clean loos. BIG pitches
Great for people under canvas, however you should note that the tent pitches are all on a hill, not too great a slope, but it is a slope. This means that you are high up - unfortunately so is the main road, a dual carriageway made of concrete; which is no problem for caravans; but under canvas you can hear the road noise from the rough surface all night long. The staff provide earplugs to help, but if you are sensitive to the noise, bring your own.
Dead easy to find, easy access and the new toilet and shower block is excellent, although you can't walk there barefoot as the outside are is rough stone!

We stayed at this camp site over Whitsun Bank Holiday. The camp site was fully booked on our arrival but pitches were large with no over crowding. The tent field is on a slope and some tents higher up the field did suffer during the gales over the weekend. Toilets block which has now been extended were kept clean despite the bad weather. The owners were very friendly and keen to suggest places to visit (out of the rain)! Would definitely visit again.

Having stayed at this campsite 3 times now I feel sharing my thoughts my be of help to anyone wanting to visit this wonderful corner of the UK. We use it only as a base for Fairford RIAT(airshow) & have found the owners helpful on ALL occasions. The toilets/shower block are very clean even if a bit small.get in early to avoid the rush ;) Situated about 5 minutes drive from Cirencester it is very quiet apart from the flyover which can be seen in the distance, you can hear cars late at night, but its not enough to keep you awake or even stop you from sleeping. 2 minutes drive down the road is a spar shop (I think its spar), quite a large one at that & has stocks to keep you going for weeks.cold beer is Very cold from here. Also in Cirencester is a Tesco extra superstore, so plenty of shopping possible & if you're lazy & like junk food McD's is also there. All in all it's a great site, tucked out the way with good security & I would give a 9.5 out of 10.

Fantastic site with beautiful surrounding landscape and great facilities - part of the main field is kept clear for children to play games in. The owners are friendly and extremely helpful, and serve great takeaway food if you can't be bothered with the BBQ!
The tent field is on a slight slope, which was the only downside, but if you angle your tent well (so you sleep feet downhill!) this isn't a big problem.
Would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed at Mayfield Park with my daughter for 2 weeks. The staff are extremely friendly offering lots of helpful advise and genuinely putting themselves out. The campsite is immaculate in every way. The shower blocks and toilets are cleaned constantly. The food they offer is exceptional. It has beautiful views and is very relaxing. Security is superb and very carefully monitored. Excellent campsite. Extremely well managed. Would definitely go back again.
