Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Staff are very friendly and let you settle in quickly. The grounds are pristine and are always being looked after through out the day.
The children's playground is situated in the middle of the park and has plenty of green around it and is well off the roads.
Toilets and showers are very clean and at busy times you did need to queue for a shower. 3 different blocks so always I e open when others were being cleaned.
The cafe was by the river and it was a very pleasant place to sit and watch the sun set. Food was basic but very reasonable in price and very tasty and nice that if you didn't want to cook you didn't need to leave the site. The drinks were also reasonable and lots of different local drinks.
The only thing that was slightly annoying was there were no lights at night and you did have to go down a very dark path to the toilets.
We will return!

We were only staying three nights, but ended up staying for five. TV signal was sporadic, so it's just as well we don't use it much. They did give us a loan of an aerial, which didn't make a huge difference. There is free wifi, but didn't always work, even when close to the signal. The setting was great though, right next to the river for fishing and walking. There is a wood across the road with a dog walking area, which was quiet and safe for dogs.
The cafe was great on the whole, but keep an eye on the opening times, it isn't open every evening. Breakfasts are well worth the money, but we would say to avoid the fish and chips at all costs, it was really poor quality and not even worth the £5 reduced price. Have the burger instead, it's much better.
There were only three toilet blocks, which were clean, but they should rethink the need to clean them at 9. 30am, which was almost peak time. It's a fair walk to the toilets, and there aren't enough showers. The woman that cleaned the toilets could do with smiling now and again, but the rest of the staff were very friendly.
Access to the other side of the river was appalling, the cars travel far too fast, and there isn't a pavement until you reach the bridge. This is not the sites fault, but something they may need to consider as they sell fishing permits for the other side of the river.
It's a peaceful place, with small supermarkets just up the road, but it's best to take the car. We did see people waiting for the bus, and they seemed to wait for ages. I'm not at all sure there are fish in the river, and if there are, they must have been away on holiday while we were there. Or that's what my husband said anyway!
Tips to make it better? Sort a pavement out, and look at providing better access to the river- disabled people and those getting on a bit can't get down to it, and it would be just so lovely to sit nearer the river watching the ducks.

An immaculately well kept site, beautifully laid out and safe for children to roam on bikes, skateboards & scooters due to the one-way system and 5 miles an hour speed limit. The kids loved the play area and we were happy to let them walk to it on their own. The toilet blocks were clean and freshly scented.
The shop was well stocked and the cafe was really handy for takeaway fish & chips and a cooked breakfast on the last morning.
The wardens were really cheerful and helpful.
Overall an excellent site for families and the only fault I can find is our own, for us it was too clinically ordered and we prefer a more rugged field experience, but for many this site is perfection.

Our 3rd visit to this site, we were on 2 pitches one pitch in a caravan and the other in a tent along the river.
Things had changed since we were there previous to this visit, some for the better and some for the worst.
The showers were now free, as they had previously chargeable.
The shop on site carries most essential goods.
They have a cafe, we didn't use it but I thought it was a very good idea.
There is a bus stop just outside the site if you don't have a car.
The supermarkets are only about 6 miles away by car.
The site is so obviously very well kept and I can see why it has won awards, the staff are very helpful and friendly.
However I did feel as though the restrictions they put in place have made me feel as though I would only return on a hard standing pitch in a caravan.
Firstly we're told in the caravan we couldn't put a breathable floor covering in the awning as it would discolour the grass, I didn't think too much about this but the more it rained the muddier it got inside the awning making it unbearable to sit in there.
Our family in the tent were told as they were staying for 6 nights they would have to move the tent halfway through as it would discolour the grass, it had been raining for 5 days, imagine moving the tent onto a really sodden patch of grass and leave the dryer patch behind ! Over £140 for those 6 nights too !
It is a lovely site but I do feel they are forgetting it is a caravan site and although it does look lovely with the river and lovely lawns, the restrictions placed on us with the muddy grass, we wouldn't be going back in a hurry, if they feel that strongly make all the pitches hard standing.

What a fabulous site! We stayed here for a weekend with our daughter and family in their motorhome on the next pitch. Friends with us in a tent were also allocated a grass pitch nearby.
The pitches are huge and ours were near the children's playground as requested when booking. All the facilities were good and the staff pleasant and helpful. The whole park was immaculately kept and a credit to the wardens who obviously work very hard to keep it like that. We loved the cafe overlooking the river and the fact that you could fish and canoe from the site.
We had a lovely weekend and will definitely come again and stay longer.

We have just returned from a visit to this site but won't be going there again.
Pros:
The site is very well kept, very neat and tidy.
The shop is well stocked with most things you might need.
The cafe is very good, we had avery nice meal and you can have it done to take-awy.
Bus stop outside site entrance.
Lovely pub up the road in Mordiford called The Moon, great sunday lunch.
Staff very helpful.
Cons:
RULES, RULES, RULES.
The push buttons on the showers were so hard you needed 2 hands to operate them and you got a very brief burst of water at such a pressure, I felt as if I'd been jet washed.
Same with taps on sinks, so hard to push and not even enough water to wet your toothbrush.
Were the signs in the loos really necessary, those of us that do, do and those of us that can't be bothered won't take any notice of the signs anyway.
So many signs and rules, felt like being back in school.
Finally:
We have visited many, many sites in europe and the uk and have to say we have never seen so many people ignore each other and not even respond to a 'good morning' and if this is caravan club sites, glad we're in the other club.
We won't be back.

WOW. What a place, I could happily put this campsite in my top ten. Truly a pleasure to stay at. Obviously the July heat wave helped a bit, but Lucksall really is a gem, almost manicured grass and boarders, fantastic staff and facilities, we stayed in the centre of the site, shielded by 20 foot high trees which gave us perfect shade in the afternoon, I have recommended this site to family and friends confident they will have the same sort of stay I did.

First time we have visited this site and we stayed for 3 nights. The fees were £20 per night for 2 adults, motorhome with canopy and electric, which I thought was very good value. This site is one of the best kept sites we have stayed on. There are large expanses of grass area which are beautifully manicured. The site is large and very open so plenty of sunshine on the pitches, and most of the pitches seem quite large. If coarse fishing is your hobby then it is an excellent spot as fishing can be done from pegs on the River Wye on the site. There are 3 toilet blocks all clean and well kept. The blocks are cleaned at different times so no need to wait for a shower. We walked to Fownhope for lunch and were disappointed that dogs were not allowed inside The Green Man (it was raining). However, the pub next door The New Inn did allow dogs and the home cooked food was excellent. I had a proper old fashioned steak pie with lots of big pieces of very tender steak and real gravy. We also had lunch at The Moon Inn at Mordiford and again the food was good. We wanted to visit Hereford on the bus but were told that no dogs allowed on the buses! We will definitely return to the site

Only stayed for 2 nights to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. Easy booking. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Catered for each families' needs which was perfect. Each pitch has plenty of space and is well marked out with ridges, excellent idea. We were next to the river on grass which was just brilliant. Facilities were kept clean. Plenty of toilets, showers, sinks. Cafe an added bonus, we enjoyed their breakfast on the day we were leaving. Well looked after site with many trees and flowering bushes, didn't notice that it was a big site as it was so well laid out. Shop and information point with lots of leaflets. Fab play area for kids. Our 11 year old fished under supervision. Would definitely go again and stay longer. A gem of a site.

Spent a lovely few days here in July when the weather was hot hot !
Booking was easy and efficient and we were shown to our pitch.
The pitch was large and the grounds of the site were immaculate to say the least.
Staff very pleasant, chatty and helpful.
Facilities very clean, nice shower and plenty of them, toilets and even vanity rooms where there's just a sink, all clean and 3 areas covering the large site.
Site is very quiet and well controlled and the river running by it was lovely. Take your dog down to the river in the far corner of the site (by the boat club) and they can have a swim, we kept them on the lead though as fast current !
It came in handy for the dogs as the weather was red hot and the swim was a welcome cool-down.
Handy shop on site that has the usual and they have a smashing cafe, seats over-looking the river and they cook all-sorts, we had a breakfast on the day we left and it was nice, would recommend the food, good reports.
Try The Moon pub just up the road, a 45 min walk through the woods brings you out at a cracking little pub (on the main road) called THE MOON, real ale, food and a beer garden, what more do you need !
Try it, it's a proper old fashioned pub that we should support - so do the walk through the woods, it's very possibly dog friendly in the front room, not sure though as we sat in the beer garden.
Note - pub closes in the afternoon so go after 6pm :)
Plus Points
1. Very clean facilities
2. Immaculate site
3. Quiet
4. Cafe
5. Beautiful location
Down side
None really if I'm honest, it is a large site and I got a little lost one evening coming back from the toilet, possibly there could be a little more lighting ??
Unable to fault the place really and would 100% recommend so go go go
