We stayed for just one night at this campsite prior to a trip to Europe. What a fantastic start to our holiday.
The site and facilities are spotlessly clean, and maintained to the highest standards. The staff are welcoming and very helpful, the pitches are of an extremely generous proportion.
It is the nicest campsite we have stayed on, and we've been camping for over 25 years. Can't wait to go back and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

One of the best sites we been on, Been camping for 10 years so visited many sites. I went with my husband and our 3 year old daugther.
Showers were 20p for 3mins and ice blocks 20p, Site was reasonably priced. The site was very clean and tidy with lots of planting.
There is a river to one side of the site but the lady on the phone when I booked was very helpful and placed us the other side of the site so our 3year old was now here near the river.
Very friend owners and a good shop.

If you like Kayaking then this is a great site, the site is on the banks of the River Wye and is in a beautiful setting. The site is very clean and well kept, the shower are good and hot but cost 20p for 3 mins but they are nice and clean. There were about 6 showers and never had to wait. They have a shop on site and the chip van comes on a Friday or Saturday night. Prices have gone up for 2009 but I've still booked 2 more trips there. You can hire kayaks on the site and do a full day and they pick you up in Ross on wye (a fantastic day out) Don't worry its all down stream. All in all a great site and must be tried

Just returned from 4 night stay over the bank holiday week and really didn't want to leave. It was without a doubt one of the best sites that we have ever stayed on. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Freezer blocks cost 20p each time to freeze one but a few times ours hadn't frozen enough and we were given some of theirs. Local pub was walkable but advise you cut through the fields on the public right of way as the road doesn't have a pavement and it was a bit scary to say the least. We caught the bus to Hereford as the bus stop is right outside the site but be warned - it was 25 minutes late but did turn up eventually.

Very well kept site with excellent, clean, facilities, and even though site was almost full over the weekend, never had to queue for the showers. Best weather of the summer so far, and kids had a great time swimming in the river next to the site.
Quiet surroundings, with a couple of pubs within walking distance (off road through corn fields), but otherwise not much else to do in the immediate vicinity of site. Hereford only 15 mins drive away though, and kids enjoyed the leisure pool with wave machine and slides. Stayed 5 nights, would definitely recommend to others, and intend visiting again at some point in future.

If Carlsberg did campsites.
Immaculate, fantastic surroundings, incredibly helpful and pleasant staff and sunshine radio played in the toilet / shower blocks!
My only issue is not with the showers being twenty pence for approx three mins, but the people who stuff it with coins and remain in there for most of the morning!
Special mention also to the kayaking guys who hire on site, we turned up late as they were packing away. No problem. All smiles and took the kayaks right back off the trailer!
Other points-fishing posts on site, riverside pitches available and decent pubs nearby.Oh.And you can order the papers for the morning!
Would we return. Yup! were back there next week.

Just come back from a weekend at Lucksall, and I have to say I think its the best site we have ever been too. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pitches are the biggest I've seen. We had a riverside pitch and it was gorgeous. You can reverse or drive your caravan onto the pitch which was great, as you can wake up and look out onto the river.
My only slight grumble and it really is slight, was the shower's. It was 20p for 3 minutes, which is no problem at all, I think most sites now charge this, but it was push button too! Found this very frustrating. Don't mind paying for showers at all, but to then have to keep pushing the button every couple of seconds was very annoying.
Toilets and showers were incredibly clean. Newer shower block had a fair bit of grass in, but that has to be expected in high season when the grass is being cut regularly. And it is cut regularly, as soon as someone leaves, they are out on their little tractor cutting the grass down.
The older shower block, which looked like a converted portakabin was absolutely spotless, not even a cobweb in site.
I really can't fault this site, it was a shame we had to come home, can't wait to go back.
Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to this site and the area and we were very impressed. Facilities were very good, clean toilets & showers and staff were very friendly and helpful. Pretty spacious flat pitches and site was generally quiet although the rallies at the weekends tended to be a bit noisy until 11pm.
Only down points were the charging for showers (20p/3 minutes) & ice packs (20p each) the latter of which worked out very expensive for us having to keep stuff cool for our baby daughter
Lots of walks in the area (ask at reception) and very close to Hereford for shopping.

Just got back from a week's camping at this site and can honestly say it was one of the most lovely sites I've stayed at.
The pitches are a good size. The campsite itself is kept pristine and the toilet/shower facilities are good. Everyone was so friendly (staff and campers alike) - we just had a fantastic time here.
We had a go on the canoes that you can hire from the site and did lots of fishing too. There are lots of pitches with good swims for those wanting to fish alot.
The shop seemed well stocked and the desk always had plenty of 20p's to hand for the showers (it's 20p for 3 minutes hot water in the shower).
We ventured into Hereford on a couple of days - a lovely town with plenty of shops. There is a Tesco and Aldi in Hereford Town Centre and a market. There is a post office 2 minutes from the campsite and a '7/11' type of shop about 5 minutes in the opposite direction and two pubs within 10 minutes walking distance but other than that not much else in the vicinity without travelling by car to Hereford.
Will definitely be going back soon.

Little to add. Fantastic site. Two points not seen anywhere else on the review site:
We came in from the east and approached via the B4224. As a towing newbie I found it a bit hairy, went home via the B4399 dropping on to the A49. A better route. Not sure that an experienced tow-er would find much between them.
We ate at The Moon at Mordiford (15 mins walk) - not too extensive a menu and not too fancy but excellent quality. The road doesn't have a path so might be awkward with little ones.
