The site is immaculate, I don't think I saw even one thing out of place or a scrap of litter. Golf course quality grass and pitches were perfectly level.
All in all this site is very very nice, but there are some details below where I have summarised certain topics.
Extremely friendly on arrival, even the warden who is a very chirpy charismatic guy was extremely professional. The site is next to the River Wye which unfortunately due to recent bad weather was running high. I will return to try out the Kayak down the river with the family but only when the water is low.
The showers and toilets and chemical disposal point were excellent, clean and warm.
The kids play area is great, but would benefit from some rubber floor or astro turf as it was very muddy and the kids got plastered in mud. Maybe a bit bigger as it was packed all of the time and would attract more families.
On site cafe has now closed which is a real shame as occasionally you just cant be bothered to cook and then clean up.
Nearest place for a beer is too far too walk and would be dangerous as there are no footpaths on the route to the nearest pub if you like are Ok with a couple of miles walk. A pub near to this site (Walking distance) would benefit both the site and the pub.
We found a pub approx 5 miles towards Hereford called 'The Bunch of Carrots' which served an excellent meal.
There was some road noise and yes I could have shot the cockerels in the early hours but I think you only noticed that as it was so quiet the rest of the time, and it is in the countryside.
I will definitely return when the river drops, the children's play area is the only thing on the site which requires minor attention. Apart from the lack of a local indoor social facilities, this site is lovely and reminds me of sites from 20 years ago where kids ran round playing games.

Just returned from a five night stay at Lucksall. We found the site to be immaculately kept and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilet / shower block was kept extremely clean and we enjoyed the music played-a nice touch. Don’t mind paying 20p per 3 mins for a shower as they were always hot. Could have done without having to push the button every so often but not a problem. The shop was well stocked and prices reasonable for a camp site. Especially pleased with the fact that they catered for vegetarians with a choice of Quorn products available from the freezer. The local bacon and doughnuts, also went down well. After reading previous reviews, we were expecting to pay 20p for freezing cool blocks, but this service was free.
Unfortunately the weather was very wet during our stay and the children didn’t get to play in the play area but it looked like fun. Didn’t get a chance to do any of the walks from the site either but it was in a lovely setting.
The only downsides were the cockerels in the opposite field who decided to battle it out to see who could crow the loudest at around 4.15 every morning and traffic noise from the road alongside the campsite. As we didn’t require EHU, we were pitched near reception on an area of grass between the ‘in’ and ‘out’ roads of the campsite.
Visted Hereford, Ross on Wye, Malvern, The National Showcaves in Wales and the Hedge Puzzle, all of which were enjoyable.
Plenty of supermarkets to choose from in Hereford, only a 10 minute drive away.
Would I go back – possibly, certainly one of the cleanest, friendliest and well kept sites I been too.
Would I recommend it – yes if you are a heavy sleeper or take ear plugs or if in the meantime the neighbours remove the cockerels!

Excellent site - very clean & tidy - Would recommend.
This was the first trip my partner & I have been on since we bought our tent. If all campsites are like this then I cant wait for our next one.
If there is one fault we found it would be the toilet/shower facilities. They were spotless, but there just wasn't enough of them. We were camping & were pitched in the far field which meant having to walk across the back of two other fields to reach these facilities.I do think they would benefit highly if they were to place toilets / showers near the camping field.
However this is a superb site with great surroundings,it was very family friendly & had a lot to offer.

Long weekend here during a very busy bank holiday but the site coped very well. Had a pitch next to the river - highly recommended book one in advance. If you've not been to Herefordshire before you wont be disappointed, if it wasn't for my job I'd be there tomorrow. Pub in Mordiford was lovely, great food but go in the lounge ! Great cycling country, superb villages. The site itself is stunning, the surroundings, the river and everything is immaculate,no undesirables here ! Its going to take a lot to beat this one.Highly recommended

We have been caravanning for 25years and have been on some nice sites but I can honestly say Lucksall is probably the best site overall we've stayed on. We have stayed on this park many times it is one of the immaculate sites you'd wish to go on. Very clean looked after and always a friendly warm welcome is to be had.
The pitches are very roomy, showers /toilets are always clean and tidy. The site is situated along side the river Wye, you can park by the river bank and feed the ducks. Hereford is 10 minutes away, Ross on Wye 15 minutes away, both very nice towns to walk around. You will find some nice pubs/food close by. Overall you cannot fault this site if you've never been you wont be disappointed

This was our first time at Lucksall and we were looking forward to our visit due to all the glowing reviews on this forum. The camp is beautifully situated between the river and woodland in a lovely valley. The site is very well maintained with immaculate lawns and a lovely bank of wildflowers between the adults only riverside camping area and the river itself. The bus stop for Hereford is right outside which is handy. So far so good and the sun was shining.
However, without wishing to be grumpy, our allocated pitch in the adults area was next to the children's playground with associated screaming from morning until 10pm. We had come for a quiet break and were forced to ask for a move the next morning. To be fair, the reception staff were helpful and took a lot of trouble to juggle us another riverside pitch further up.
Another issue was that the rally fields were packed with people which probably added to the general air of too many people, especially when it came to the showers/loo, there was a queue at 6.30 in the morning! Personally, we felt another shower block is needed.
Maybe the fact that there was a large rally going on should be mentioned when people book since it effectively doubled the number of folk on site and it was so noisy, at least until around 1030 at night when it did go quiet.
We would expect this during school holidays but not at other times. Lucksalls is a lovely site but for us it was too crowded. Shame really but I don't think we will be back.

Visited the site for the very first time this year, we were recommended to visit by our friends.
Herefordshire has always been one of those places we planned to go and the brochure of Lucksall looked nice, so we thought for just a weekend why not check it out.
After years of caravanning all over the Welsh coast, Devon and other great places. I thought, we had visited all the best parks but Lucksall is now top of our list when recommending places for our friends to visit.
Great friendly staff, perfectly kept grounds and brilliant facilities combined with miles and miles of walks to go on. Fantastic walks along the river Wye and a huge area of woodland next door to the park to explore with our dogs.
We went on a bank holiday weekend and we knew in advance that it would be fully booked. So I was expecting a few minor problems but the pitches were massive and nicely distributed around the park. Come night time everyone on the campsite who sat outside kept their group conversations right down. Only thing that could be heard was an Owl in the wood and a few big fish splashing about in the river.
It cost us £30 a night on a bank holiday weekend. (2xAdults, 2xChildren and 2 dogs) Compared to everywhere else previously visited, I thought that was great value.

We visited here May Day Bank Holiday. The site is very well looked after, showers(20p) and toilets lovely and clean, and all staff very friendly and helpful.
Pitches are very spacious.Local pubs nearby. Walks, canoeing, fishing. Plenty of places to visit. We are definitely returning. For a relaxing time, this site will be for you.

I must start this review with Wow. This is one of the tidiest sites we have been on. The site is in a stunning location next to the river wye. Our van was literally 3 metres away from the river. Our kids loved feeding the swans and ducks.
The shop was well stocked and the staff were very helpful and friendly. As we were out of season the onsite food kiosk was closed but looked nice with plenty of outdoor seating.
We were quite lucky with the weather as it was nice and warm/dry. The pitches were well spaced and in good condition.
This showers were spotless and you even had music playing in the background while you washed. The showers cost 20p for approx 3 mins. The only gripe we had was the showers were of the push type.
The washing up facilities were excellent and we didn't have to queue once. The laundry room had 6 washing machines,3 tumble dryers along with free washing sinks.
The site also had plenty of playground equipment and it looked like they are increasing this as we saw a large pile of equipment nearby.K ids were allowed to use there bikes on the near perfect tarmac drives and mown grassy areas.
The only fault I could say about the site was the poor TV reception. This didn't bother me or the wife but didn't go down well with the kids.
We were told that it was free fishing and if you owned a canoe/kayak you could launch from the site and 3 miles down the river was a pub that they would come and collect you and you craft from.
I would highly recommend this site and will definitely visit this site again

The site is very neat and tidy and staff were pleasant and helpful. It has a lovely location on the banks of the River Wye. The shop is reasonably well stocked and prices are not excessively high. The on-site canoe hire is a bonus.
My only criticism would be the loos and showers. There were only two sets of loos on the site, which meant that if you camp on the rally field (as we did) it's a 300 metre walk to the nearest loo.
The showers were 20p for 3 minutes.
