This is a largish pleasant site by the river there are a lot of statics but pleasant tourist pitches set in small hedged areas there are two or three toilet blocks which are clean I did not use the showers but they seemed ok. Close to our pitch was a wash up area three sinks under cover but not inside a laundry and recycle waste disposal area. There is a well stocked shop and a bar bistro with tables at the side of the river with lovely flower beds. They open for breakfast and do lunches and evening meals. The food was lovely would suggest booking on Sunday lunch specials and evening meals. There is canoe hire on the river and lots of fishing. Outside entrance is a bus stop but no buses on a Sunday. There are narrow roads to the site but plenty of passing places. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

This is a fabulous site and so well maintained, the grass is cut to an inch of it`s life. The flower beds are beautiful with some species we have rarely seen. The staff are great and are ready to meet you as you arrive and direct you to your pitch. Don`t worry about paying your balance until you are settled in, they tell you. The toilet block at the back of the site is new and fantastic. Our only gripe is that the only bins are in the re cycling centre in the middle of the park. They could put more of them about but don`t and when we asked, no one seemed to know why.

We visited this wonderful site from 5th-7th June 2015 as a stopover weekend on the way home to the North West from Devon. We arrived & pulled over into a little layby (as directed by the clear signage) we were greeted, the keys were brought to us & we were shown straight to the pavilion without even having to leave the car! A map of the park was provided & everything was pointed out to us. An absolutely 1st class welcome!

We rented the 5 berth pavilion in the long meadow. It was well equipped with kettle, heater, TV, picnic bench & parasol. It had one double, one single & bunk beds. I'd highly recommend it. It was well insulated so we didn't need to use the heater but it was good to know it was there, just in case the good old English weather wasn't favourable.

My parents rented the beach hut for 2 people & equally enjoyed it.

We are seasoned campers and found the site to be well maintained with immaculate, well marked pitches. The toilet/shower blocks were spotless, nice & warm, hot showers & well stocked. There was a hairdryer in the ladies (coin operated - 20p) and Dyson hand dryers.

The shop was well stocked with everything you may have forgotten & reasonably priced.

We ate in the café on our arrival day, the meals were excellent quality & fair prices. The & children's lasagne was a huge hit, delicious! They serve food until about 9pm and offer a takeaway option too. They have a licenced bar & serve drinks until 11pm, a great range of local ciders & very reasonable prices. We also enjoyed breakfast here this morning before our departure, sitting outside overlooking the river, basking in the sunshine - bliss! I had the meat free breakfast, delicious & filling at £4. 50, the others had yummy bacon sandwiches (£2. 90) and toast served with butter & jam (£1. 90) all washed down with a lovely pot of tea.

We booked by telephone, and found them to be very helpful. Upon arrival we were met by staff who directed us to our pitch.

We later asked to be moved near to the river and this was all ok-no questions asked or fuss made.

The site itself is immaculate, with plenty of space for each of us.

Toilets etc were also immaculate(a rarity when it comes to camping).

The only 'bad' thing we encountered was when we visited the shop for a bag of sugar and were stared at by several staff members who were obviously bored. -They talked us into buying a map of the local area which we didn't really want.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would go again for a short break.

We have already recommended it to other people as a good weekender!

You can't really fault this site. But somehow I didn't like it. It was too pristine, groomed to within an inch of it's life! They don't allow weeds anywhere. It is immaculate, clean, and in a great location, but the thing I remember are the ubiquitous signs telling you to keep your dog on a short lead. I don't think it helped that we were there with kids when the rest of the country didn't have school holidays - so it felt like we were in danger of disturbing the Daily Mail readers. When I stuck a swingball into the ground I thought 'I bet I'm not allowed to do this'. I have to point out that everybody was perfectly pleasant, and nobody told me not to do anything, so this is probably more to do with me than the site. But just not my cup of tea.

This is a also a very large site. Despite advertising itself as great for dogs, there is nowhere to let your dog off the lead without going to the woods over the road. This doesn't sound too bad, but if you are at the far end of the site, then this is a good half mile walk just to get to the wood's entrance. If the site was full then there would also not be much space for kids to play.

Booked by phone, receptionist extremely helpful, no pressure totally helpful. We had specific requirements and we were advised they could accommodate all of them.

Instructions to site were accurate and the camp is located with easy access and signposted.

Immediately you arrive you are met with friendly faces and a sincere professionally, well organised staff. The gardens are immaculate and are constantly tended. The shop on site is small but caters for immediate needs. Although a very good local shop and butchers and post office can be found in the next village Fownhope.

There are 3 toilet blocks on site, disabled one identified in block 2, however block 3 (the newest) houses excellent facilities, especially the 'family. Room), however all can only be accessed by climbing up a few steps. In this block are all amenities, water, waste, chemical toilet disposal, washing up. Although strangely no refuse bins!

Without exception this well run, friendly site, alongside the River Wye is ideally suited for a relaxing break. The cafe opened half way through our week and provided well presented, cooked snacks and meals and drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

We will visit again, but not take up the pitch we had this time as fitting in the porch awning was a tight fit, but we could of asked for a different pitch which would have been accommodated. Wifi almost non existent, but Vodafone coverage was good.

Thoroughly enjoyable, thank you.

Have used this site for the last 8 yrs the staff are extremely helpful the site is kept in immaculate order it is a peaceful site even though it has a children's play area. The shower blocks are clean and tidy and are heated. A restaurant on site offers food throughout the day and the prices are good. It also has some excellent walks and is in easy reach of Hereford town centre. I look forward to going every year. I cannot fault the site and rate it high

We have used this site for a number of years at various times ie. Peak and off peak and have always been very impressed with all aspects.

The location is idyllic sandwiched between the River Wye and wooded hillsides. It is flat which means that there is rarely a need for levelling blocks and moving around the site is easy.

Pitches are generous and varied. Riverside options, secluded parts or more open areas for large units or parties.

The whole site is immaculately kept and the family who own and run it clearly work on the theme of 'continuous improvement' because each year there is evidence of changes or improvements with the needs of customers in mind.

We have always walked a lot from the site with the river and woods providing varied wildlife potential but we have also hired canoes, fished or just sat and enjoyed being there with the family including the grandchildren who love going with us. A well stocked shop and very functional cafe are each a bonus in their own right.

The thing we like most of all however, is the genuinely warm welcome and and appreciation of our custom by the owners and staff. In our experience quite unique! In summary:- Professional plus Personal equals Perfect.

What a brilliant site, from the moment of check in to day of leaving it was brilliant.

Arrived at reception and was not hassled for payment immediately allowed to go to pitch and get set up etc.

The pitches were a great size plenty of room for the van, awning and then room for parking all on the pitch, then there was a great separation between units so you didn't feel on top of each other.

Toilets and showers were lovely and clean and cleaned regularly and plenty around the site.

There was a lovely licensed cafe on site which you could also just use as a place for a drink and whilst we didn't eat there the food looked and smelt amazing.

Bus stop right out side the camp with good connections into to Hereford.

Would recommend this site without hesitation and will definitely use it again.

I recently purchased a caravan from this site and managed an all too brief one night stop. However, from the time I spent there I was totally impressed The toilet/washrooms were pristine and the site totally litter free.

Combine this with the stunning views of the hills and the river and it rapidly becomes the near perfect setting for an inland relaxing retreat.

I can recommend the cafe for breakfast and the staff are all very professional and extremely helpful. We will definitely be returning next spring
