We have just stayed here & all we can say is excellent, excellent, excellent. We were greeted by manager Paul in reception who was very pleasant & helpful. We were in the overspill touring part & what a lovely part of the park to stay in. Clubhouse was great & very reasonably priced, everyone made us feel welcome. The site was very clean & the toilets & showers were clean & tidy, The showers could do with being a little warmer but was ok. Its situated in a fantastic place for access to the beach which is only 10mins away if you can find somewhere to park. We enjoyed our stay that much that we have booked to go again in August & look forward to going again & hope we get fab weather again.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay. The staff were very welcoming & we were impressed by the security in place. As very first time caravaners we were happy that the site has flat pitches. The only downside was the white stones which walked into the caravan. The toilets are lovely & clean & plenty space in the shower cubicles. We had a meal on the Tuesday night which was wonderful & good value for money. The staff in the pub were lovely & were very nice to the kids. We will stay again if down in the area.

Very nice campsite, clean toilets & showers. Pub does not open during the day, it opens at 6pm, food is very good especially the steak pie ! Beer is reasonable at 2.30 a pint. Nothing to do at all on site during the day, kids climbing frame is basic, games room the same. £7.50 in a taxi into Scarborough, easy walk in the summer. Nearest shop is 2.5 mile away. Staff very friendly & efficient, on site shop is very basic.

Anyone using the postcode in their SATNAVS for Jacobs Mount keep driving when you are told you have reached your destination, it is on Stepney HILL not road, about two mile further on at the TOP of the HILL.
We had booked here for seven nights, two caravans five adults and three kids. We arrived at around twelve noon when we booked in. £89 for the seven nights. There is an additional £5 refundable deposit for the barrier access to the site. The swipe card also gives access to the toilets. The barriers are locked from 23:00 until 08:00 in the morning, so if you want to get off for an early start you can’t. The pitches are hard standing super pitches with you own water and drainage. There is also a light on the top of the electric box that you can switch on and off yourself very handy at night. Pitches were nice and level. It poured of rain when we were putting up the awning but this was done in record time.
The toilets and showers were Ok but I have seen cleaner and brighter there aren’t a lot of windows in the male toilets and if you went for a wash and shave at around 09:00 the lights were off and you could hardly see in the mirror to shave. This was like this every day, after the second day our friends went and asked for the lights to be put on which they were. If they want to save money, be environmentally friendly what ever their reason a sensor would make more sense, which was suggested to the reception. Also for a site that has 140 pitches there are only three WC wash basins and urinals. And five showers. I would hate to be there when the site is full.
The Pub on site was nice and served reasonably priced food. There are three Pool tables and some rocking car type things for the very young children. Second time we went to the bar I was charged £12 for 1 Guinness, 1 Vodka & Coke, a Malibu and fresh orange and a glass of coke. When I queried this, the barman said “it did seem a bit expensive and he would make it up on the next round “Eh! I asked him to recheck and got about another £4 back. We were away all day Thursday and when we came back, we were pleasantly surprised to see the grass had been cut. When I got out the car I noticed grass up the front and the sides of the awning, I have two windbreaks at the rear of the caravan and these were absolutely covered in wet grass, and the bottom of them was cut. They had use a strimmer and this had cut the windbreaks. Luckily it hadn’t harmed the awnings or there would have been a claim going in as it was the windbreaks weren’t expensive ones. I did catch the guy with the strimmer the next morning and told him I wasn’t happy with his efforts he said he would come to the caravan and fix things…. He never showed face.
You are about two mile drive into Scarborough from Jacobs mount. We used the park and ride, very easy and no problem trying to find a parking space which when you do can be expensive. Only thing is when we returned we saw a Ford Ka with its side window smashed looked like someone was after the Sat Nav. I have got to add that this may seem a bit negative but the site itself and the Reception staff are very nice. This is just my experience, don’t let it put you off as the pitches, price, people are all very good. Oh! One last thing if you allow your kids the swipe card to use the toilets, warn them not to swipe every card reader the see with it. Our friends kids did this and after “X” amount of swipes it is disabled. They had to ask reception to re-enable it.

We have been to this site twice before and find it a very good site. The security is good( card swipe in and out of touring area). The toilets were clean again entry via swipe card. The sites have electric, water and drainage on each pitch. The on site bar/ restaurant is good a real homely feel. We shall be visiting this site again. I think the only way to improve the site would be the addition of a swimming pool.

Cannot recommend this site highly enough! We only stayed for 1 night here but would definitely stay again. Warm welcome when we arrived and the staff are so helpful. Unfortunately one of our party took ill and had to be rushed to hospital but the owner of the site was more than helpful and we were even allowed to leave our tent up for longer the next day to allow us to sort things out. Showers were clean, lovely park for children, shop that's stocked with main necessities. What more do you need than clean showers/toilets, a friendly atmosphere and a pub! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jacob's Mount to friends and family.

We visited this site in may and were disapointed as the toilets were not clean, which I wasn't surprised with the kind of weather we had but that shouldn't matter. The shop wasn't well stocked (when it was open which wasn't alot.) There was hardly anybody on the site and we was shoved right at the other side of the park which wasn't needed as there was loads of room.

Scarborough is my home town, so I have been to various sites in the area over the years. This was our first visit to Jacob's Mount, and I shall be very happy to use the site again. The staff are all very friendly - you get a warm welcome at reception, friendly service in the pub./ restaurant (with fun bingo and karaoke), and wished a safe journey home.
This is mainly a caravan / static site, with smaller areas for tent campers. The site is terraced and well screened. Pitches are on hard standing with a patch of grass between each pitch. Each pitch has its own hook-up (use a full length lead) and dedicated water and drain. Toilet facilities are very good plus there is a family room with a bath. Also laundry room and washing up facilities. There is a wooded dog walk at the far end of the static area, and a modern children's play area.
From the top of the tourer field - if you stand on a grassy hillock - there is a panoramic view of Scarborough, the bays to the north and of course the sea. It's a pity there isn't a proper viewpoint. Unless you're fit the centre of Scarborough is a bit too far to walk, but most other sites are no nearer. The C&C club site near Scalby Mills is the nearest to beach and town.
Jacob's Mount is perfectly located to access both north and south bays without having to go through the centre of town, and is very handy for trips into the North York Moors (Thornton Dale, Helmsley, Goathland), the Whitby road (Robin Hoods Bay etc.) plus local drives (try going down the road to East Ayton and turning right before the bridge to Forge Valley and beyond). Sorry to be long winded. I'm more than a little biased.
