I have been on this site a couple of times now and find it to be a nice site and good value for money. It has both water and waste points on each pitch and are kept very clean. There is also a children's decent sized play area which my children loved and a smaller one by the pub. The toilets and showers were disappointing as they were not very clean. You are limited to what you can get from the shop as it is very basic and hardly open we found. Apart from those couple of points this is a lovely site for young families or older couples and is only a couple of miles from town.

Really enjoyed our stay at Jacobs Mount, my 5 year old nephew loved the playpark ( age range 4 - 12 there is another playpark for much younger children outside the pub) and the adults enjoyed the excellent service the manager provided. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the on site pub was good homemade food and the plastic cow ice cream went down a treat with my nephew.
The pitch we had was on the edge of the site and was close to all the facilities (eg the pub! which was excellent for all the family and had entertainment on the saturday night) I can't comment on the toilet block as I didn't use it but it looked good to me.
The onsite shop is very basic but saying that had all the emergency basics (bread milk chocolate)
The site is the 2 miles away from Scarborough (and the nearest I found to the centre) but down hill all the way so walking can be done, however on the way back I would recommend a taxi unless your into fitness training on your hols.
All the pitches I saw there had there own water and electric hook up and were all very well maintained. One of the nicest parts of the weekend was to sit outside the caravan in the sun and listen to the peace and quiet.
I will definitely visit again thought it was good value family fun.

When I visited Jacobs Mount I could not of been more sceptical about camping, however due to the people running such an excellent facility my three days under canvas was a fantastic experience.
The everyday things you take for granted ie. Toilets, showers etc. Were there just like home and what's more they were free to use.
Site security is well above average with key cards for all entry exit gates. These cards also give you access to toilet / shower block.
We never experienced the food in the clubhouse but were told it was fantastic home cooked but we did sample the beer which was fine and average price.
All in all the site was fantastic and I will be back with my family again.

Stopped here for three nights and really enjoyed it. Not much room for tenters as this is mainly a caravan site although we were made really welcome, it cost £17.50 a night for two adults which we thought was reasonable for the standard of site. The facilities were cleaned regulatory and there was no problem getting a shower, the only annoying thing is you have to keep pressing the button for the water to come. Just a minor grumble though. The shop on site was well stocked and the club house was reasonably priced and the food good too. The site is right at the top off the hill and beware if you are not taking a car but just rucksacks as we did, it is a 45 minute walk and the hill is quite steep. However a taxi is only £6 from the railway station. In summary the site is tidy and well kept if a bit off the beaten track.

Despite the weather doing nothing but rain for the whole week that we were there, the staff were very accommodating and friendly! Toilets and shower blocks were kept very clean, despite the rain and mud. We shall definitely be returning again next year.. The meals in the bar were excellent value for money and the Steak Pie was delicious! We look forward to returning in 2009.

Spent a great weekend here two families with two boys aged 8. The kids loved it there best one yet and we've been to a lot. Great play areas clean and safe, good games room with security, bar and lounge good atmosphere with plenty to do. All staff were friendly and helpful. The showers/toilet blocks very clean and spacious and always hot water. Tent pitches small but just enough room for our tents and cars. All together excellent site and will definitely be returning again and would recommend this to anyone. Scarborough is lovely lots to do and see we've returned time and time again.

Great site which has good security. The staff were very helpful and polite. Good pitches with hard standing. The shower block lets the site down. The lighting is poor and you have to keep pressing the button every few seconds for the water to come out of the shower. The shower floor was also a bit mucky and could do with a more regular clean and better water drainage. This is the only negative point of a great site. We will definitely return again. Its a great location for the best of coastal needs as well as countryside.

This was only our 2nd camping trip so we're still finding our feet. We found Jacobs Mount via website, read all the reviews and just decided to go for it, and we were certainly glad we did! Thought it was great, kids loved the playground not too far from tent, we were in a small field by ourselves so was excellent for our 2year old, she loved having the whole field to herself! Not too far from toilet block. There isn't a lot of room for tents, its mainly caravans. Very reasonable price, you cant beat £35 for 2 nights! There's a shop and pub on site. My only criticism was that the showers didn't drain away very well, and the lighting was a bit dim in shower blocks but apart from that it was a great site and we will definitely be back next time we visit Scarborough!

Great site and fabulous pitches. We were on pitch 127 a big corner one and not far from the shower and toilet block. What a pleasure to be on a fully serviced pitch. Now here's where I disagree with the other reviews. The showers and toilets were filthy every time we went to use them. Also they were dark abd gloomy. There didn't seem to be any light switches so you can turn the lights on and the sensor only put the lights on at night. We did enjoy our stay the dog loved the beach it's just a shame about the showers.

First time myself and girlfriend have been to Jacobs Mount, deffinatly wont be the last though!
Jacobs mount is a great little site. We stayed in a tent for 2 nights, the camping are was very clean, albeit a little small. There are 2 camping areas, one towards the bottom right of the site and one more centralised. You can get about 3-4 tents on each pitch. Only critisim on that is the fact its a little far from the toilets, which can be a pain first thing on a morning, but it did not cause much of a problem.
The facilities on site were excellent, toilets were very clean with plenty ofto turn them on as t room. A little anoying with the showers, you have to keep hitting the button he water only runs for about a minute then stops but showers are free and heated so can't complain!
There is a small room to wash your pots and pans etc, remeber your washing up liquid! They also have a laundry room complete with ironing board.
We don't have any children but there is a small play park next to the toilet block for young children which looks safe and what they would enjoy.
The onsite pub serves food 7 till about 9.30, decent prices and food looks nice. More inportantly, the beer! was pleasantly surprised at the price.
There is a small shop which sells your basics, bread milk etc. A little expensive, which is to be expected, most shops on campsites are, but it wasn't too bad.
All in all, a top quality site, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be returning the begining of september for longer!
Would highly recommend this campsite!
