First impressions - not bad. If you are able and willing it's not a bad walk into Scarborough. Pitches are a bit cramped.
We thought it was reasonably priced until we checked the price structure. We had paid £18. 50 per night but only £13. 50 was for the pitch and electrics. The extra £5 was for our dogs (£2. 50 per dog per night). An extra adult in a unit is only £2 per night and a child under three is free. I was informed that dogs are charged for
Dogs are not allowed in any building on site, not even the reception or clubhouse (unlike an extra adult).
Toilets and showers could be cleaner. Using shower 1 in the ladies results in showers 2 and 3 receiving your dirty water - not nice. Showers cost 40 pence a time.
You also need to pay £5 (refundable on departure) for a swipe card to open the barrier and to open the toilet/shower block doors. Won't return here.

Just returned from a weekend at Jacobs Mount, what more can be said than what a great site.
Having arrived at the site 12 noon the park warden told us that we had over paid and refunded the difference but I was unaware that I had over paid, that was a nice touch to start with.
We had pre booked a pitch and on arrival at the pitch it was great fully serviced and plenty of room for the van awning and car with room to spare.
Entry to the site is done via a swipe card for both enrty/exit once you have checked in I found this to be a very good idea regarding park security.
Amenities on site were clean, staff very helpful all round the site, the shop stocked all basic needs, the pub/restaurant on site served food which we found good value for money and good choice on menu.
There are 2 outdoor play areas for the kids which are fine.
The park itself is about a 20mins walk from Scarborough town centre but it is all down hill, would recommend the taxi back though (£6.00).
We had visitors for the day on Saturday and the park manager was very accommodating by letting them park on our pitch.
Overall a great site and weekend, will certainly be returning.

The pitches are a good size hard standing and near level with there own water tap and drainage the only problem with the pitches you need a 25 metre mains cable as the mains hook up is on the other side of the pitch.
Even though the seasons near to the end the site was still clean and tidy.
The staff was friendly and helpful and even the seasonal touring caravan owners and static caravan owners where friendly not like some sites we have been to.
We have stayed at this site in June this year when the weather was a lot better than this time. It's a shame we can't get back for the end of season party but due to work commitments but we will be back next year

Just returned from this site on a mixed week of weather.First the good points pitches are a good size with hard standing.
Good location but can get windy so storm straps a must. Now the bad points, the showers were luke warm at best and with 2 small children was not good.
The toilet blocks were not cleaned for at least 3 days of our stay. The shop had no supply's at all papers bread ect.
The waste bin was over flowing for the entire week which I ended up picking rubbish up myself.
The showers stay on for 20 seconds at most.We were told my some season holders that they are going to charge for showers next year if that's the case then they have some work to bring them up to scratch.
Would we stay again no

A lovely welcoming site with excellent toilets and shower blocks. The toilet cubicles are large with both a toilet and sink in them. No soap though. The showers are very roomy with, an inner door to protect your clothes from getting wet. Small queues for showers on a Bank Holiday. Good entertainment. There is a small playground for children.
There is a laundrette and a pot wash & vegetable preparation area. It was extremely windy when we stayed, and 7 vans lost their awnings. I am sure this was unusual, because the pitches are protected with hedges around 3 sides.
You can walk into Scarborough, along the main road. It takes about 3/4 hour. You can probably get a bus as well. There is a Sainsburys supermarket about a 20 minute walk away. Staff are all very pleasant, and helpful. Highly recommended.

Just had a 5 night stay at this site, we choose this site on reading reviews left. Site well placed for Scarborough, pitch a reasonable size - half hard standing, half grass. Facilities were clean but only 3 toilets for over 100 vans, not enough in my view. Waste bins were full when we arrived bags of rubbish stacked at the sides of each large bin and only emptied today 27th and leaving bits everywhere. Play area good size but grubby. At £22 a night not a bargain

Stayed for two nights at this site. Pub prices ok,£5 for two pints of fosters (shame they had no carling). Food reasonably priced, and looked good. Shop on site very, very basic.
Showers, toilets kept very clean, but needed to be octopus to keep shower going. But for £10 per night camping we can't complain at that. A walk into scarborough I would not recommend,as it is a good long walk into town, seems like a 15 mile hike !
All staff on site friendly as well as other campers. Only negative thing to mention is on the overflow section where we were was a cause for concern regarding security as it is very close to the main road and could be prone to thieving, just a thought!
Would and probably will use this site again.

We have been on many an occasion as its only about an hour from home. The comments relating to the showers and needing a third hand I agree with, although if you press and hold it for a fair few seconds before going in fully then its not too bad. As always, we found it clean and the site staff friendly enough. The park amused our 9 & 10 year olds and Tesco and Sainsburys are about 4 miles away (downhill) If you are travelling here with a caravan, take note NOT to use shortcut past Irton garden centre as the exit joins you back to the main road and the junction is steep!
We paid £60 for 4 adults and 2 children with porch awning, 3 nights last weekend in June with hard standing and water connection (if you have an adapter for water direct rather than using aquaroll, I'd recommend it). Its our short notice escape and am sure we'll continue to go back and recommend it for being cheap and cheerful

We have just came after a week at Jacobs Mount. I can recommend this site. The staff were friendly and helpful. The site was clean and tidy.
The only problem we had in the men's and ladies showers, you need three hands to have a shower because as soon you took your hand off the button the water stopped.
We also found that even the seasonal campers was friendly and helpful and made us welcome which makes a change from other sites we been to in the past.
The club house serves food and drinks which is real value for money. We are going to try and go back before the end off the season this year.

Well been to loads of campsites in the last 4 years. Decided to try this one out after been told by a relative. Got to say I think this site should be used as a blue print for more sites in this country.
Hard standing pitches with water and waste on all pitches. Paid £32 for the weekend would pay more than that as an extra on a commercial site just for water and drainage.
Toilets were clean. Owners were to be seen where ever you went and were always friendly and willing to stand and chat. Club house was clean and well stocked and prices were same as my local. Bonus.
Nice small park for kids. 2.8 miles to the centre of Scarborough. Well worth a visit and I will def be going again and again.
