June 2004 This campsite looked fantastic on its website. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. the staff at reception were incredibly friendly and helpful and the site appeared nice on arrival. it is a good base if you are going walking - there are some very nice walks that were recommended by the lady at reception. however, it was not very pleasant to stay on site. There was not a great deal to do and the bar got incredibly smokey. As a non-smoker I felt like I'd smoked 40 cigarettes the next day. This is not a good environment for people with kids. As for the other campers, they started fighting at 4am. Not nice. This site has potential but unfortunately I was not hugely impressed.

june 04 This is a very good site for families and couples alike.Would recommend that you get there early as it gets very busy at the weekends. Lots of things to keep the kids occupied especially with the British summer weather in mind. The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained, the site is always clean and tidy. The indoor pool is an added attraction, but needs more changing rooms. The club house is very good. We really enjoyed the family disco on Saturday nights. We will be returning to Three Rivers again soon.

16 June 2004 lovely area site well set out facilities modern and clean, unfortunately we must have called on an Off few days, as the staff's attitude left a lot to be desired ! found them very 'disinterested ' we felt like intruders. A gent who's had a seasonal pitch commented that fees had increased considerably this year, and about 15 or so regulars had pulled off. shame as the general attitude spoiled what could have been a very pleasant stay.

12/6/04 Campsite itself not too bad, pleasant tree lined and clean. Showers and toilet block adequate, some of the showers need maintaining. The club house reminiscent of a working mens club from the late 70s, shabby, beer v.poor, lots of track suited base ball cap wearing youths ever present. Camp site staff although friendly not too picky about who is allowed on the site. Large groups who site their caravans / tents together and barbeque / booze / shout / swear into the small hours were evident on our visit. 4 in the morning to be precise. Staff visited the tent field on the morning after and were informed about this. It did not happen again that night..... was that down to the staff warning them ?. All in all if you want a quiet relaxing break even with kids then there are other places that are better. Won't be coming here again.

May 2004 This was our first weekend away in our new trailer tent. Three Rivers is, as said, a very clean site, with excellent toilet facilities that are close to the touring field. The swimming pool is also first class. The water was very warm and there is a separate small pool for the little ones. The play area on the far side of the touring field is very good too. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday evening and I would advise arriving earlier to obtain the best spot - especially if you want electric hook up. The only negative to this site is that it was very busy, but the facilities attract this. Bar on site was very good, although was not doing food during our visit. Clithroe is a very pretty town with lots of nice villages around.

Aug 2003 Positives: Lovely site, VERY CLEAN, well laid out so although it's large the pitches are spread over a number of smaller fields with lots of tree cover for shelter. Very well landscaped and the facilities are new and well thought out. The indoor pool is great and the family changing cubicles were ideal for us & our tots. Great area. Very friendly staff. Negatives: Very few. We found it difficult to keep our tots entertained for 6 days as it's more "walkers' country" than holiday resort but then that's a great advantage for most people ! We would definitely visit again.

August 2003 Staff very nice and friendly. But site very busy, litter on site, broken beer bottles around wash up area. Children with bad language all around site. This could be a lovelely site. Maybe I picked a bad weekend.

July 2003 Overall very good. nice camp site in scenic setting, stuff for kids to do (including family night at the club house on saturdays) but still able to find a quiet bit. Cement works (which you pass on the way there) are not an issue. Walk up the hill from pub, is a bit more of an issue though. Very good pubs in Waddington.
Don’t arrive between 12 & 1pm at the weekend as reception is closed!!!!

June 2003 Excelent, clean, tidy, well run and friendly site. Surrounding countryside is very scenic with plenty of walks, many originating from the site itself.
Also, there was a good selection of children's playgrounds, all of which are better than what you would expect to find on an average site.
Clitheroe does have a cement works, it is about 2 miles from the camp site and not visable at all, hence we found that it wasn't an issue.
We will definately be returning.
