We arrived here from the Barnard Castle club site and our first impressions were one of a little disappointment in comparison to 'Barney'. However we decided to make the best of it as the location is spectacular, just across the road from a lovely beach.
There are three areas to pitch tents and motorhomes. No caravans are allowed on this site and there are only standard pitches, no hook-ups. We were taken to one area but were told we could pitch in any of the others. The pitches were a bit sloping, unless you chose to go in the largest field in the middle as the outside perimeter of the large field is reserved for the jumbo tents.
I would be lying if I said I was impressed with the standard of the toilet block. The ladies has four showers, one of which is for disabled. They work by pushing a button, which you keep having to push numerous times throughout your shower or the water keeps stopping. You get used to it and they are free and the water is hot.
The taps on the sinks either trickle water out or spurt it out at a rate of knots. I think I tried them all during our four night stay and didn't manage to find a 'normal' one. I didn't find the sinks to be that clean whenever I was in there.
The location does make up for the areas in which the site is lacking. It is perfect for exploring the Northumberland coast and because of the proximity to the beach is perfect for a late evening stroll.
There is little to Beadnell itself apart from a small general store and a chip shop, but along the road/beach a mile and a half away, there is Seahouses where there are plenty of shops, pubs serving food, cafes and also kiosks selling tickets for boat trips to the Farne Islands. Going in either direction form Beadnell there are Castles to be seen and places and areas of interest to suit all ages.
It is definitely an area to visit on more than one occasion the thing that would persuade me to go back to this site is the beach across the road.

Excellent location, opposite beach, with lovely coastal walks to Bamburgh, Seahouses and Craister .Catch the bus back it passes the site entrance, very handy if you don't like retracing your steps.
Showers, toilets, adequate, clean. Friendly helpful wardens.
Both pubs in Beadnell are dog friendly and serve good real ales and nice food at reasonable cost.
Would recommend this site and certainly visit again if in area.No electric hook ups here though.

A good location by the beach and in close proximity to a number of local attractions, and in easy walking distance of Beadnell village, which has a couple of pubs and a fish and chip shop.
The site facilities, though somewhat dated, were very clean and well maintained. Push button showers were adequately hot and I didn't have to queue. Site staff friendly on arrival.
Pitches seemed fairly well packed together though to be fair it was pretty full while we were there.
Only other comment – I read in a previous review that the Craster Arms was a bit too “upmarket” which made me wonder if it was a bit posh – however, this is really not the case – nothing wrong with it, perfectly adequate pub food, but certainly not upmarket or unwelcoming.

We went here for a long weekend at the end of July and will be going back for a week next summer as we really enjoyed it. The site was apparently full but it didn't feel at all crowded.
When we arrived it was very very windy, one of the site chaps talked me through how best to pitch the tent in the wind (we'd never done this) and a little later came to help us raise it and tighten the guy ropes.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities (although a little dated) were always clean and even at the busiest times I didn't have to queue long for the shower.
The site itself is situated just across the road from the beach, where we spent every evening with the dog and the kids rockpooling.
It's easy to walk into Seahouses along the beach which we did but go the bus back. The bus will drop you off right outside the site.
We also drove over to Lindisfarne and visited the priory, all dog friendly.
Next summer we will be back and we will probably do the boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses.
Excellent site, can't wait to go back.

What a location - Beadnell Bay is beautiful, the sea was no colder than Cornwall, the beach and the dunes were amazing, the moon was golden & it was all so quiet.
The site was fine, despite being obviously old, the toilets were very clean with free hot water. Have to say the staff, esp the woman who checked us in, were a bit odd (she wasn't friendly at all & was possibly the manager?).
Would recommend Bamburgh (the steak pie from the butchers shop was the best ever & the apple cake, well.), Lindisfarne (via boat trip in the evening from Seahouses - campers can get a discount voucher from a leaflet in the laundry room), chips from the Neptune chippy in Seahouses (the village itself isn't up to much though), the hotel-y type pub in Beadnell(possibly called the Lobster Pot?) - this was more down to earth than the Craster Arms which was a bit up-market for us scruffy campers!
Definitely one to go back to.

Stayed at this site at the end of July. Our first camping experience.
The site was fairly full when we arrived and we were given a pitch in the front field, under the shelter of a stone wall. The ground was nice and flat where we were but was a little sloped further along which may have been an issue if it had rained. The space rule was strictly enforced and so we didn't feel at all cramped, which was good. The main road runs along the front of the site, with only a wooden fence as the boundary - it certainly doesn't muffle the traffic noise. During the day the road is fairly busy but is not too noticeable. At night, though the traffic is much less busy, there were a few 'boy racers' tearing past in the late evening causing quite a bit of noise. The only other issue we had was the relentless wind. During our 4 day stay we had to double up on our pegs to keep the tent on the ground & at least two of our 'neighbours' lost their windbreaks. Seemingly it is often a bit breezy at this site. Whilst we were there it seemed that staff tried to locate campervans on the roadside pitches, keeping the tents further back, don't know if this is always the case.
There is one facility block on the site with toilets, showers, washing up area, laundry and the reception. The facilities were a little dated but were clean and never too busy. Bins and drinking water taps were dotted around the site and these areas were also kept very clean. The bins were emptied at least twice daily. The 'no noise after 11' rule was adhered to and the site gates were closed every night.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and were more than willing to help in any way. The beach is literally across the road but it isn't particularly great for lazing on.Excellent for rock-pooling however ! We drove the 10 mins north to Bamburgh for beautiful white sandy beaches and clean paddling water. The Links car-park was possibly the easiest to reach and cheapest (£2 for the day) though you do have to hike over the gorgeous sand dunes to get to the beach. We had some great trips to Lindisfarne (watch out for those tides !), Alnwick Gardens & Dunstanburgh Castle. Next time we will take a boat from Seahouses out to the Farne Islands to see the seals. Eating wise, we visited the chip shop which is a 2 minute stroll from the site. Not at all bad and great if the weather is a bit iffy.Does get a bit busy though so you may have to queue for a few minutes.
All in all we had a great time. We'd definitely return to this site.

Visited this site several times. The exposed nature of the site is part of it's appeal. It is almost always windy but still a fabulous location.
In terms of facilities there is no electricity and basic toilets and showers. No caravans are allowed which also makes it a refreshing change. The wardens have changed this year and our favourite spot was now reserved for very large motorhomes and the number of pitches has been reduced. A bit disappointing when the site was quite empty. Even more disappointing when a small van was then allowed to pitch at that end of the park. It has taken the informality of the site away a bit which was really what made it special.
Great base for walking and cycling with a small beach opposite but also an amazing beach if you walk to Beadnell. A pub with good food and beer garden nearby and a chip shop and small store and post office also.

Lovely location north of Beadnell Bay with view of the Farne islands. It's a fairly windy site, and the only protection available is a small wall, so be prepared! We didn't use any shops nearby but were warned that there wasn't much around; went to the Morrison's in Alnwick in transit, which was fine. Cooling elements can be hired on site, though we didn't check how much this cost. Facilities were adequate if a bit basic - three showers for each sex are not very much during a busy period, so we spent quite a bit of time queuing; the (female) toilets were okay, but the cisterns dripped occasionally!
It felt a bit crowded while we were there, and the local idiots seem to have made it into a fun sport to drive past at top speed at night with the horns blaring, but on the whole we all had a peaceful and enjoyable time, including the dog.

A lovely site - we camped in the back field. Fairly busy but not too cramped. Facilities basic but clean. It was quite breezey - but nothing to worry about. We also had quite a lot of rain and the drainage was fine.
Whilst the site fronts onto the main road, this didn't seem to cause excessive noise, at least in the back field.
Negative points
First: The hot water (which never ran out) was hot. The push down taps got too hot to hold with bare skin after about 20 seconds, and the showers are the push button kind with no temperature regulation (fine for me, but it meant that my kids couldn't have a shower all week).
Second: The shop only sells UHT milk - although there is a post office / newsagent which sells milk nearby, but this shuts at 6pm.
Beaches
The beach right opposite the site is not that nice (loads of stagnant pools and seaweed) but if you go onto that beach and walk north for three or four minutes, it sorts itself out into a lovely white sandy beach with great paddling for kiddies.
A better beach is a short few minutes drive away (or a 10-15 min walk) at Beadnell. There's a pay and display carpark and access to the beach. Great paddling and nice enough to swim in (if you're up for the cold).
A nice site but not for those who like a hot hot shower!

Fantastic site, very well located, just yards from the beach, very friendly and helpful staff and good clean facilities, this is a great site as a base for exploring the gorgeous northumberland coast and countryside.
Nice and quiet site, is next to a fairly busy road but this didn't seem to bother us at all,
Would recommend a visit to the Craster arms pub in Beadnell, about a ten minute walk, very nice village pub with great food, just be warned you may have a bit of a wait if its busy! and there is a local chip shop, a few minutes walk from the site, we didn't use this, as from experience the best fish and chips are from Neptune's in seahouses, just a few mins drive away
We will definitely be coming back to this site again,
