September 2004 Just got back from this site and it is great. As divers we wanted somewhere close to the launch site at Beadnell, it is about 2 minutes drive and we could bring the boat onto the site and park it next to the tent. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the facilities are nice and clean. I liked this site as its not overcrowded as everyone has there own allocated space, and it isn't too rowdy at night. We will definately go again.

August 2004 I've visited twice this year and somehow managed to find fine weather both times! Facilities are ageing but kept very clean and tidy. Views to one side are the open fields and the Cheviot hills, to the other the open sea. If you like beautiful, unspoilt sea side, visiting castles and historic sites, great fish and chips this is the place for you. Top tip, try the Bamburgh Bangers from the post office - where else!

Bank Holiday Weekend May 2004 Just returned from Beadnell after a fantastic weekend. This is a very friendly site with lovely staff. It is a bit open so make sure you are prepared for any bad weather.
Near to lots of the great Northumberland coast. Loads to see and do. You only have to cross the road and you are on the beach! There is a chip shop and corner shop less than 5 mins walk from the site and there are 2 pubs in the village (about 10 mins walk).
We are quite local to the area and so spent the weekend relaxing but this site is in an excellent location for Alnwick (castles and garden) and Bamburgh and Seahouses.
Facilities are basic but are immaculately clean and tidy. Didn't use the laundry but popped in to read the tourist information and it was being used.

2003 Good site for tents and motorhomes. If you get the chance pitch behind the wall in the lower field as it acts as an excellent wind break (and if the weather is not the best - You'll need it).
Excellent beach for the kids, and big kids to play on.

September 2003 Ideally located just across the road from a nice sandy beach (campers pack extra guy lines!!) this C&CC site gave myself and the missus a very friendly welcome on our first ever camping trip.
The fish and chips from the shop down the road were exceptional although I did have a bit of a strop when the local pub was serving extremely short measures and refusing to top-up!
Loads and loads of things to do in the area especially if you are interested in castles and the like.
The site itself was neat and tidy and the facilities were good although the toilet block seemed a little antiquated.

August/September 2002 I visited this site as a backpacker, just at the start of the low season. It's a lovely site, comprising two halfs seperated by the facilities block. One half has the caravans, the other, grassy pitches for tents.
The warden of the site was very friendy, and knew the local area's attractions very well. We were immediately made to feel welcome, and were free to choose our own pitch.
The site itself is seperated from the rocky shoreline only by a main road and a line of dunes. There is a bus stop right outside the site's entrance, making visits to nearby Seahouses very easy to manage. There's a decent chip shop just down the road in Beadnell, about 100m from the site entrance. The Farne Islands, along with the lighthouse, can be seen in the distance.
The facilities were clean, and the showers had a mop and bucket handy so that everybody could ensure that they stayed so. Standard 20p hair dryers were very welcome. We didn't use the laundry, but it was open, and we popped in during the night to have a look at the local tourist brochures which are kept in there.
All in all, for a backpacker, this is exactly the sort of place you need to be able to stop for a night. It's comfortable, firendly, quiet and inexpensive.
