Me and my fiancée visited Beadnel Camping & Caravanning site for one night recently. It was our first time at the campsite, and our first experience of camping and thanks to the top class facilities and location, I'm sure we will be returning in the not so distant future.
Easy to find, this site is located on the main road that runs through Beadnel, and we were only a 25minute walk away from Seahouses, famous for its fish and Chips.
A further ten minutes up the road is Bamburgh Castle so there are plenty places to visit by staying in Beadnel.
The shower block was clean, with plenty sinks, showers and toilets to share with fellow campers even on a busy weekend!
Literally 50yards away is the beach across the road, and about 300 yards away is Beadnell Village itself complete with a post office and pub. All you need for a basic camping experience!

We have visited this site time and time again, purely because of its location. The facilities are basic but that's what we love about camping and its better than nothing. Lots of toilets, two showers, basic dish washing facilities. Skip all that and look at the view! Campsite, road, beach - perfection. If poss recommend not parking by the road as its straight and long and teenagers seem to like to race a long it at night.
Can't comment on staff as all we needed to do was pay and that was our only contact with them!

We booked this site because of the proximity of the beach, which was lovely. However we completely forgot about the howling winds that arrive in August. Our large dome tent was almost lying completely flat because of the wind for the first few days. Once the wind died down it was a lot more pleasant. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Lots to see and do in the area and of course a lovely beach to just build sandcastles on. There is also a lovely pub in the village which gave us some much needed shelter and lovely food.
My one criticism of this site is that the facilities were somewhat basic and not always particularly clean. Hot water was a bit hit and miss and, despite there being plenty of showers, I always seemed to have to queue to get a place. I didn't feel that this site was up to the normal standard for Camping & Caravanning Club sites, which was a pity. I wouldn't personally return to this site - not because of the facilities tho' - just because the site was really exposed and windy.

Just come back from a fantastic week at this perfectly situated and well-run site. We were given a choice of pitches on arrival and shown to the one we opted for. Facilities were busy as the site was full (as you'd expect in the last week of the school holidays) but kept v. Clean.
As others have pointed out it can (and did!) get v. Windy on occasion but we only use 'normal' tent pegs for our tent and were fine - in fact when you're snuggled up in your sleeping bag, listening to the wind just adds to the sense of drama that being on this castle-filled coastline evokes!
There are loads of quiet(ish) roads to cycle on round here, as well as stretches of beautiful and v.Clean beaches with safe swimming. The nearby shop has all the essentials and Seahouses is only a couple of miles away, with a Co-op open till 10.
If you do plan to stay at this site it's worth booking ahead - there were no vacancies at all during our week. It's a credit to the site management that they do not cram too many in - the site never felt packed, unlike others we've stayed in during August.

The site had everything you needed and was clean, we would go back and the beach (not opposite the site) but in Beadnell itself is superb.
A word of warning that the back field does flood, as we were unfortunate enough to experience. However, they do say that you get a great nights sleep on a waterbed! If you are choosing to pitch in the back field (furthest from the road) try, if you have the option, to pitch anywhere on the left of the field and not to the right or back right. The back field is 10 feet lower than the others and floods much more easily.

On arrival at the site the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We had booked a larger pitch which comfortably held our Montana 6 and car. Despite being fully booked they kept the pitches to either side of us empty - nice to see a campsite not cramming as many people on as possible.
The sites facilities are pretty basic with only a small laundry, shower block and dish cleaning room. The reception sells a few thing, but not many. There is however an off-license just a couple of minutes walk away.
There is no childs play area, and ball games are not allowed, but the beach is only 100m across the road and dunes.
The site is very well kept, with well trimmed grass, and the ground was great for plastic pegs - nice and firm with no stones. The toilets and showers were spotless. Yes they could do with modernising, but they were clean and worked fine. My fiancee did mention that a couple of toilet seats in the ladies were missing though.
The one downside is that the campsite is next to the road, and our tent was about 5 meters from it. Every morning at about 6am some prat on his way to work would sound his horn repeatedly as he drove past - such comedy. Reception said that things used to be much worse, but being woken every morning in this way isn't one of the things we enjoy about camping.
Just to correct an earlier review, BBQ's are allowed, just not ones which will damage the grass, and you're not allowed to add wood after cooking your food to turn it into a fire.
It's a very good site and ideally situated for short drives the Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, Craster and Alnwick, but you do get traffic noise and all that's associated with it. Would probably go again but it would have to be a pitch further from the road.

Nice site based just outside Beadnell village and approximately two miles from Seahouses.
Site staff were friendly and welcoming and facilities were very good.
The site is set in two fields, on the main coast road, so access to the beach is a few minutes walk and access to local villages is easy.
There is very little shelter at the site, so I imagine it could suffer in coastel winds, but this did not affect me as the weather was fine during my visit.
Only tents and campervans are accepted here and there are no electricity points.
Within walking distance is a fish and chip shop, a post office/shop and two decent pubs.
Nice site, recommended.

We were on a bit of a road trip culminating in meeting up with friends in Beadnell. We'd had a great few days, stayed at some great camp sites but unfortunately ending up here almost ruined the holiday. The camp site is fine - close to the beach, a shop, and not too far a walk from town. But the site staff were unbelievably rude and officious.
The site facilities are good but they are closed between 11am and 12:30pm each day - just when many will want to be washing up, having a quick shower or even just going to the toilet before heading home (check out is at 12pm).
The site is covered in signs telling you what not to do - no ball games, no frisbee, no kites, no BBQs, no wetsuits in the wash rooms - throughout the stay we were left feeling like naughty kids on a school trip!
Good site, good location, shame about the staff.

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon without pre-booking, and initially we thought we would not get in as a sign stated 'bookings only.' However, the very helpful wardens found us a pitch. There are three different fields, one allocated for families, one mixed and the other for couples / singles, which seemed to work very well.
The washrooms are slightly in need of updating, but are immaculately clean, as you would expect on a C&CC site.
The pitches are flat and well spaced, but there is very little shelter and it can get windy. There are lots of big skies here, but you need to cross the road and climb down the sand dunes to get to the fantastic soft white sand beach.
There is not too much in Beadnell itself, though the Craster Arms pub is OK for a drink. Seahouses is not too far away with lots of cafes, fish and chip shops and pubs. You can also get boat trips to the Farne Islands from here.
The area has a lot to offer, with stunning coastal walks, big sandy beaches and a host of atmospheric ruined castles and boat trips out to the islands with seals and birds. Berwick is definitely worth a visit as is Holy Island. There is a really handy double decker bus service that runs up and down the coast if you wanted to have a rest from driving /walking.
Would definitely come back here again.

Nice site with a good location for Seahouses and the surrounding areas. Shower and toilet block a little dated but perfectly clean and tidy, however the water did run out in the ladies by 0830 one morning.
Staff really friendly and helpful but did think they could have managed the pitch sizes a little better. We seemed to be crammed in with very little space while others had a lot more or they had pitched in a totally inappropriate way e.G. Blocking vehicle access! but to their defence there is no definite pitch markings.
Would visit again.
