July/August 2004 Great campsite!!!!! My wife went there many years ago when she was seven... it has changed alot, for the better! A nice new heated shower, toilet block. Family shower, toilet rooms are very handy. The new owner which took over during our stay are very friendly and helpful. A lovely countryside setting. Good washing up facilities. A well stocked shop. Fresh bread, muffins croissants, pain au chocs etc all tasted wonderful, and cooked on site too. Very helpful to novices, newcomers (like ourselves) aswell as to the pros. Nothing was too much bother. We will be returning next year. I would recommend this site too all. I would also like to thank the previous owners on our arrival, and wish the new owner all the best for the future, and to thank them all for making us so welcome. A five star service, from a five star campsite

June 2004 Very friendly site, we arrived half an hour after last entries but were shown to our pitch no problems. Tthe toilet blocks were excellent, very clean and centrally heated. We had a tourer but it was nice to se there is still a campsite that treats tents the same way as caravans.
Beautiful countryside and only a 10 minute walk to the local pub.. we payed in the region of £50 for three nights including hook up.......Steve

28 - 31 May 2004 This is a really lovely site, but be aware that if you pitch your tent in the top field and wish to have electric hook up you will be camped on a slope. The shop is open from 8am to 8.30pm (didn't appear to close at all). It was well stocked with camping essentials and local produce. The local cider is well worth sampling! They provide fresh bread and pastries and in the evening they provide take away food which is out of this world and not a chip to be seen! The couple who own the site are lovely, very attentive but not intrusive. The shower, toilet, washing up facilities were really good although there were only two showers and it got very busy first thing in the morning. The showers and hair dryer run on tokens 30p each or 4 for a £1. I was concerned that you wouldn't get enough time in the shower using the tokens but it was ample. We will definitely be returning to Mendip Heights and we would not hesitate to recommend it - great site. Oh, nearly forgot, they do discounted tickets for Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge Caves which are really good value.

August 2003 This is a lovely little site. Modern toilet/shower block kept very clean. Showers are now 30p per token (good 5min shower) or 4 for a pound. Shop is open from 8.30am till midday then again at 3 until 5. Cheddar gorge is close drive/cycle and you can make Weston-super-mare in about 35mins. Very friendly and helpful staff make this a site I will definately be visiting again. They can also arange things like archery, canoeing and cave tours.

July 2003 Friendly family run campsite. Lovely countryside. Clean and well maintained with new toilet blocks and laundry/washing-up facilities. There is also family shower rooms, one has baby changing facilities.
The shop is handy and well stocked with fresh bread and croissants every morning, plus local farm produce. Home cooked meals are also available some nights at a good price (e.g. sausage & mash, local pork in cider gravy etc.).
Maybe we were just lucky, but the ground was stone-free where we pitched our tent!

May 2002 We have been to this campsite three years in a row and every time find it enjoyable. It is peaceful and out of the way with a village pub ten minutes walk down the road. And a close drive to places like Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole caves. There is a campshop on site with all the stuff that you forget to bring (or we do!!) which is open enough to be useful. There was also a small playground when we went which is good to keep the children amused for a while. Th3 I would highly rcommend this site of you like to be away from the big towns and enjoy the peace and quiet. The toilets and showers are kept clean and tidy although I believe there is a 20p charge for the shower.
