Perfect site in a great location with friendly staff. The facilities are excellent with the showers amongst the best to be found on a camp site. The shop is well stocked and was open until 7pm during our stay.
The site is located at 250 metres high on the edge of the Mendip Hills. The hill drops down by about 200 metres to Cheddar to the west and Wells to the south - both approximately 6 miles from the site. The height of the site means the temperature is somewhat cooler than that in Cheddar or Wells.
We cycled into Wells on relatively quite country lanes. It is all down hill there passing Wookey Hole tourist attraction. Wells is a perfect size to have a wander around with lots to see. The cycle back was much harder but achievable if fit.
The following day we walked into Cheddar using a 13 mile circular walk. Our route started along quiet country lanes to near Charterhouse. From there our route went down the start of Cheddar Gorge (Velvet Bottom and Black Rock) to the main gorge. Once in Cheddar we headed east and followed the West Meddip Way back to the club site.
The Queen Victoria in Priddy is a 10-15 minute walk from the site and is a nice village pub serving straightforward pub grub.
The grass pitches are not level and some are quite slopped. This is the only negative aspect of the site of which it would be good if the club could improve.

A good site. Wardens were very friendly. Handy site shop. Showers hot, and clean. Play park only adequate. Many pitches are sloping but some are level. We were on a slope that I found annoyed me.
This site is in a glorious location with fabulous views. There are loads of places nearby to visit. Wells is 5 miles away and is a stunning old city(we liked Wells). We didn't try the pub as it was too busy when we were there- probably a good sign.

A very nice site situated in lovely countryside with staff who really went out of their way to make your stay pleasant.
The shop is well stocked with everything that you're likely to need during your stay. They cheekily resell some Lidl / Aldi stuff but that's not a big deal when you're buying convenience. The shop also takes orders for the freshest bread, pasties, pastries etc. A very short walk, <5 minutes, is a farm shop / restaurant which does the greatest cooked breakfast I've ever tasted. There's very clean facilities on site with several showers and a very good family room. There's also a very basic play park.
The only criticism I have is the slope it's situated on. We were in a jumbo serviced pitch and the slopes around the site played havoc with my back and hips as you're never on a level surface with the exception of the ablution block and the shop area. Overall though a wonderful place to stay.

We have just arrived back from this site yesterday after spending six glorious days there. The site was one of the nicest we have ever stayed at. Spacious pitches, gorgeous views and a superb shop for ordering freshly baked croissants and pain chocolate in the morning. The people who run it are some of the most friendly and helpful that we have ever met. The toilet/shower and amenity blocks were absolutely spotless. No ignoring cobwebs in the corners here - absolutely spotless! I can't think of any negative comments whatsoever - I just wanna go back!

Friendly reception on arrival. We were shown to our pitch and were told about the barrier to enter/exit the site with your car (you need a card - we did not use this). We were also told about water points, where to find bricks if we needed to raise our barbecue, where the recycling points were, the closing time of the toilet/shower block (11. 30-12. 30pm I seem to recall). Our pitch was on a small incline but I have had worse. The ground was not rocky at all and the pegs went in like a dream. Our pitch was very spacious - we have a 4m bell tent and an awning which is just as big. The shop is well stocked - delicious croissants for breakfast. The toilet/shower block was very clean. A few single loos. Some with their own washbasin for ablutions. 2 shower units and two units with loo, basin and shower. Loved the fact that you don't have to press a button to get water, just pull on a cord and off it goes for as long as you like. 20p for hairdryer (did not try it). Overall, great. Some beautiful views. Everyone was really quiet and there virtually no traffic noise overnight. Possibly the best night sleep in campsite ever (for me!). There is a small child playground area with a slide and some swings. There is a farm shop about 5 minute away on foot which does breakfast and lunch. Priddy village is about 15-20 minutes walk for the nearest pub.

We couldn't find fault with this site. It is as described in the club's details except that there is now only one pub in Priddy serving very good 'pub grub' although beware of the chilli - apparently it is very spicy, so a member of our party said.
If you are on the hard standing you will need rock pegs and a good strong hammer for your awning! The tent site is quite sloping. Just a few pitches on the level.
The facilities were spotless, thanks to Fiona. Besides individual toilet cubicles, two of which had wash hand basins, and washing/dressing cubicles, there was a choice of shower arrangements - two shower only cubicles and two wet room style with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. I think these facilities were mirrored in the gents. Hair dryer 20p but don't know how much time you get. There was also a family wet room and a parent and child wet room with nappy changing facilities. Plenty of hooks for your clothes.
Excellent indoor veg prep and washing up facilities - even have two sinks units outside - together with a laundry room with iron and board. £3. 50 wash 50p dry and 20p iron (again don't know how long you get).
Well stocked shop. Delicious home made bread - give them a ring and I am sure they will save you one for when you arrive. The local ice cream is also great - especially the chocolate.
The farm shop, just a few minutes walk away also does breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
The managers and their assistants couldn't have been better. We didn't see them without a smile on their faces - mind you with the site in such a beautiful, quiet place everyone was smiling.
There is a short dog walk the length of the site, so those of you with pooches will have to wander a bit farther afield for their constitutional. Although on the walks we went on they would have to have a touch of 'Red Rum' in their blood to leap over the stiles.
Not much for children - just two swings and a small slide. But you could always organise your own children activities - I think there is nothing nicer than the laughter of children!
Plenty of places to visit and a great walking area with gorges to climb or just watch the rock climbers at Cheddar Gorge. If you are a pot hole enthusiast, you will be in your element.

Very friendly staff. We were shown to our pitch, a completely flat hardstanding in a secluded area of the site, although some parts the site were sloping. The shop was very well stocked for basics, camping requirements and local food. On a very quiet B road, with no traffic noise. Good views. Facilities more than adequate and kept spotless. Lovely area for walking and exploring. Good value for C and CC members

We visited this site last weekend, it is a lovely little site and the staff are very friendly and helpful, it has an on site shop with the basics you will need and they also sell calor gas. We saw that there was a farm shop next door but did not get time to visit this trip, but we will definitely return as there is so much to do in the area. Loved this site and will return next year. We were on the site for the famous storm that went through, luckily we were on the edge of it, but it was a little scary at times. We were some what sheltered considering we were on the top of the mendip hills. But if you are looking for a lovely site with fantastic facilities and enjoy walking holidays. I would definitely recommend this site.

Very clean facilities, but also very expensive if you are not members - £25 per night for two people in a small tent. Good free warm showers. Decent shop. Some of the ground slopes, not too bad but makes a big difference in a tent. There's some good walks from this site. Very close to Priddy where the Queen Vic offers good beer and food. The road is very quiet - no noise at night at all. A very peaceful site all in all.
There is a farm shop next door where the breakfasts are outstanding and cheap - highly recommended.
