We stayed here for 3 nights en-route to Cornwall in order to break up our journey.
The site is very clean and tidy with immaculate toilets and showers. Staff are very helpful, upon our arrival the ethos was get pitched and have a cup of tea and then sort out payment afterwards which made a nice change.
The site is well located for Cheddar Gorge, being less than 5 miles away and the shop can sell you discounted tickets which is an added bonus. Also closeby is Weston-Super-Mare which has a massive expanse of sandy beach for kids to play and attractions which for a seaside town are quite reasonably priced.
Unlike some other sites, other guests were not as friendly and this is not helped by a stone wall dividing two fields seperating tents from caravans.
The children's play area was also very basic and right next to other peoples pitches.
Worthy of note, which is not explained in the C & CC club books
1) There is a deposit of £10 required for an entry barrier card - refunded when you leave, but you need to make sure you have £10 cash with you.
2) There is a very distinct slope on all pitches, so caravans/motorhomes will need levellers and chocks and tents will need to pitch the right way to avoid falling out of bed.
Overall, a good site, although in my opinion a little expensive (£33.10 p/n 2 adults, 2 children)

We have just spent 5 nights at this wonderful campsite and we could recommend it to others.
The wardens were very helpful and friendly (and the gas was cheap too). The shop was very well stocked for it's size, which had local produce as well. There are two pubs within a 15 minute walk. The campsite itself was spotless and the facilities were also immaculate.
In short, it's one of the best sites we have been to so far and we will be back in September.

A nice peaceful site, lovely views but expensive if you are not a Camping & Caravanning club member. Small play area for children.
Excellent shop selling essentials as well as maps, postcards & meat from the farm shop next door. Very friendly & helpful staff (& campers).
Facilities are excellent (best shower block ever - cubicles with a sink, toilet and shower as well as separate family shower rooms).
The Queen Victoria pub in the Village serves good food and has a play area for children.
Annual Priddy Sheep Race Night (last weekend in June?) is well worth a look!
We'll definitely return.

Just come back from what was meant to be a 2 night stay ended up being 3 would of stayed all week if I could. It was a lovely site and everyone was really nice. The wardens were fantastic and couldn't have been any more helpful if they had tried.
Where I decided to pitch my tent was quite stony under the grass, which gave me problems putting my pegs in, but the warden was there with his hammer and more suitable pegs. Even though it is on a slight slope it didn't cause any problems.
Will definitely go back again, the facilities were really great and were always clean. They have a shop on site too so it was really nice to be able to buy fresh bread first thing in the morning. I only chose this site as I needed a short break to chill and relax and it was just what was needed.

This was our first adventure with our two year old and new tent. We turned up at lunchtime and got a warm welcome, if a bit overwhelmed with details of various things to do with the site. Got shown to our pitch which was slightly sloping. We noticed later that ours seemed to have pitches behind, in front and to the side. Fortunately the one to the side wasn't used otherwise it looked as if we'd be surrounded and locked in.
It's quite a quiet site with lots of caravans neatly set out and friendly people who were clearly used to toddlers which pleased our inquisitive little one with his quest to inspect everyone's wheels. It was very quiet in the evening with no audible music and most caravanners retreating inside as it got chilly.
As past reviewer has said there's a £10 deposit for the barrier card and we also paid a £10 deposit to use the family bathroom - this was brilliant for us to lock ourselves in a safe space to shower, a great amenity.
There's a reasonably well stocked shop although closes well before you'd realise you'd left that essential something behind. Nearby is the village of Priddy with a large number of pleasant pubs considering the tiny population. It's walk able even with a buggy but you'd need to take care of fast traffic on the country road and a torch for the journey back in the evening.
Nearby is Cheddar but we were there for the Priddy sheep race on the green so stayed local and had some fun in the village.
Around the site are cows, sheep and the site is prettily enclosed by dry stone walls. There are two swings for older children (no baby harness swings) and an interesting slide. Site was spotless, no litter and staff were visibly mowing grass etc.
It is in the mendips so mobile reception was a bit hit and miss, no mobile broadband from o2 and we struggled to get a signal on 3 or orange either. The site has wifi but this is pricey at £5 an hour compared to mobile broadband of £2 a day. Site fee was £17 without hook up.
Overall we enjoyed it and would return for the reliability of facilities.

This is a lovely site in a great location. Unfortunately it was spoiled for us by other inconsiderate noisy campers, but the wardens had a word and got it sorted. Nothing was too much trouble for them! They were very friendly and helpful.
The facilities are very good, although the showers seemed to suffer at busy times - the temperature and pressure became very variable so best to go early or late. The shop is well stocked and open from 8.30 until 6 so a good spread of hours. The freshly baked pastries are a must!
The site is sloping and that caused problems for us. We had a corner pitch and the slope went both down and sideways so was awkward to cope with. It was also quite exposed in the middle of the site and we seemed to get the worst of the wind. The ehu pitches looked much better - they're against the dry stone walls so probably got some protection that we didn't benefit from.
The children's playground isn't huge but has a slide and swings so was adequate.
Couple of things I hadn't realised before we arrived (not sure if I missed some small print somewhere) was the £10 deposit required for the card that operates the entry / exit gate and the £10 deposit required for the family shower room key. They're both returned when you leave and hand the items back, but I'd like to have known in advance about the charge.
Close by there are lots of things to see and do. The shop sells discounted tickets for Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, both of which we took advantage of. Wookey Hole is the better of the two. The site itself is bounded by green fields and is very picturesque.
All in all, a wonderful site that we will definitely go back to in the future. Next time we'll make sure when booking to state that we don't want to be near any groups so that we can enjoy the lovely scenery with a bit of peace and quiet.

As members of the C&CC we have visited a lot of their sites and this one is a little gem.
From reading the previous reviews I believe the toilet block has been updated as there are now 4 shower cubicles in the gents at least and even on a busy bank holiday weekend I didn't have to queue once. They were always spotless too.
Most pitches are sloping but there are lumps of wood and bricks available if you need them, but most units I saw had no need for them. The sloping aspect does ensure that all campers can have a reasonably un-obscured view of the surrounding fields. As Priddy is the highest village in the Mendip Hills it can get a little windy so be prepared for that.
The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful and usually fix a problem before you know it even exists.
There are some lovely walks starting from the site and the shop sells it's own guide (£2.99) which is well worth the money. The walks are of varying lengths and difficulty but are easy to follow with written directions and a map showing the route. The village is just under a mile away and has two good pubs, just a little further down the road is a garage which sells fuel at realistic prices too.
Beware of using the satnav to get you there, the route through Cheddar Gorge is not recommended as it has some very tight and steep sections if you are towing and some very narrow lanes coming from the other direction. The best route is via the A39 and B3135 which may seem longer but avoids the narrow lanes.
A lovely little site that we will definitely be visiting again.

Just spent 7 days in this fantastic part of the country.
The camp site was very clean and had good facilities staff were as helpful as could be as the site was full. The family shower room was a god send with our 3 year old, well stocked shop even a farm shop just outside the gate.
Priddy Village is about a mile away with 2 pubs which are child friendly one overlooks the village green.
Now for bad points site is on a hill so take plenty of chocks, tent pitches I would think are a nightmare, also if your unlucky enough to get a grass pitch at the bottom, as we did, when it rains the pitch stays wet for days, we eventually asked to move to a hard standing pitch when one came available, as more mud in the awning than the cow field behind.
Was given a tip by the warden c&cc sites hard standing & grass pitches are the same money so always get hard standing if available

Just returned from five days at this lovely site. We received a great welcome from the owners on arrival who helped us choose the best pitch available. We also joined the club as it turned out cheaper, even with the joining fee!
There is a choice of grass or hardstanding, both with super views. The little site shop is open twice a day and sells most essentials and a few treats, such as fresh bread and pastries each morning. We also bought our OS map in the shop as this was our first trip to the area. The site has a great location on the edge of the village of Priddy which has two lovely pubs, both serving good food and local ale. The 5 mile drive into Cheddar takes 5-10 mins or you could pick up a public footpath halfway along the road as we did and walk into Cheddar along the top of the gorge, where we saw the wild goats and a peregrine falcon. Beware though, if you walk down into Cheddar through the gated exit you will have to pay to return the same way. We refused to pay to use a public footpath and scrambled up the cliff side to walk back along the other side. This was great fun and recommended by our three kids.
If you like walking, you should also check out the beautiful Ebbor Gorge about 2 miles away from the site. The area is also good for cycling although some of the hills can be a bit challenging ! We found a byeway on the map which turned out to be extremely deep mud and provided great enjoyment for the kids on their mountain bikes!
The site facilities were spotless with free showers and plenty of hot water. There are also family showers available although we didn't use these as our three children are old enough to shower on their own.
Wookey Hole is close to the site but we didn't go as it appears to have been turned into a small theme park!
There are supermarkets in Cheddar for all your shopping needs.
We drove into Bristol for a day. Took about an hour in the car by the time we had found somewhere to park. We would recommend Explore@Bristol. Lots of amazing 'hands on' experiments and games for the whole family.
All in all a great holiday.

Just returned from a lovely short break of two nights at this site. The pitches are well organised with pegs to guide you on spacing between units but be warned, if you choose a grass pitch (with or without electric) you could be on quite a slope (so bad we used a towel to stop things sliding down the table). But don't let that put you off - This is a gem of a site, the owners are very friendly - you can order fresh bread for the next day from the well stocked on-site shop!, the views across the fields are lovely, clear skies allow fine views of the night sky.
Facilities are good except there are only 2 showers in both male / female facilities so there are inevitable queues at peak times but they were always spotless.
There is also a nice little camping shop in Wells (Queens Street) if like us you forget something (where's the sleep mats dear?)
