Very disappointed. Arrived on second week of hols. Looks fab in brochure. Very, very small site and owner (who drives around very fast on his quad bike) never managed a single smile during our whole stay. We paid extra for large pitch (Rabbit). Pitch not very large at all, just about managed to get tent (9 man), gazebo and car onto it - expected more from what we had just paid and visited the previous week. Was assured toilet blocks were close by - not the case. Main toilet block / showers and washing up / laundry were situated by entrance to camp site - a very long walk. Second block a good walk from our tent. Toilets only had one sink in each of the blocks - 10 toilets and one sink - not good. Ended up washing up and cleaning ourselves using a bucket and kettle. Pitch was obviously not given a chance to recover from previous visitors and smelt of silage - which in turn lead to hundreds of flies inside tent (even when closed for the whole day). Not impressed at all.

Just come back from a 2 week stay at Treloy and we had a great time. The ground was bad on paths due to rain and cars but the site did put straw down to back it less muddy. Once the sun came out it dried up very quickly. The toilets and showers where fine and clean but another set of showers would be an advantage near the new toilets as queues did build up in the morning and when everyone returned from the beach. There was shop selling the basics and you could hire their ice packs. There was a COOP 5 mins drive down the road towards Newquay that was very good and a good price. We found the site great and friendly with not too many rules the field was great for ball games and especially flying kites. Some of the pitches where a little tight for big tents we just had room for our large tent and car .(Badger 14) The none services pitches seemed bigger. The site owner did say he will make pitches bigger to accommodate all the larger family tents and will be thinking of new showers as he does not fill all his pitches but rotes around due to the amount of amenities. It was good to find a site who put their guests first. The parks were good but from around 8 in the evening lots of older kids did congregate as it was near club and games rooms but we never saw any trouble just sitting around talking. Overall a great smaller site with good amenities well worth a visit we will use it again when we next visit Newquay

Visited this site with another family for 2weeks and luckily arrived after all the bad weather and had two brilliant weeks of weather. Site well placed for Newquay but it is far too close to the RAF base. During our stay the helicopters were out overhead for at least 7 nights and the noise overhead was very loud and went on till at least 12am.Maintained site but could have done with proper paths as when it rained the pathways were very muddy. Toilet and shower blocks were very inadequate for the size of the site. Only one shower block for the whole site and as we were at the top of the site this was a fair hike. There was 2 toilet blocks overall and there was one nearer to our pitch but this was still a fair walk. If you didnt get up early for a shower you could guarantee a queue. The showers were hot dependant on the time of day but most days they were hot but the cubicles were not very spacious and it was a struggle to put on dry clothes without getting them wet at the bottom. Swimming pool not as up to date as pictures make out and only used once as children complained too cold.We didnt use bar area but it did appear ok and childrens entertaintment looked good and well organized. Did have a problem with teenagers late at night as we were pitched right next to sports field and they tended to congregate and make lots of noise past midnight and having young children we kept having to tell them to go away and keep the noise down. Overall good central site but more investment is needed for new shower facilities for the amount of pitches and too near the RAF base for our liking.

The site was ideal for visiting Newquay. Loads of places to visit and things to do within half hour drive. 10 minute bus ride to Newquay .On a decent bus route if you didnt want to drive. We had booked 2 large pitches for a 30ft touring caravan and a large family tent. Due to the recent wet weather we were unable to have booked pitches as they were water logged and we were given a pitch right at the top of the campsite next to the dog walk. The pitch we were given was actually for one family not 2. Luckily we were family. Having spoke to the owner about the space we had he was less than helpful and bombed off on his quad bike and never to be seen again. The australian staff really worked hard on the site emptying bins, cleaning, running the bar, and arcade they were great and friendly. All the facillities were clean although there just wasnt enough of them for the amount of people on site. The washing machines were excellent. Cafe was good value and the entertainment on a wednesday night MEATLOAF was a really good night in the club. The pool was ok and was warm. The kids loved it. Teenagers were not particularly catered for they were asked to go home at night at 11 oclock, also little ones were being told to go and find there parents its time for bed. Having spoken to other parents on the campsite the owner wasnt that child friendly. All in all we had a great 2 weeks of sunshine and enjoyed our stay, but we wouldnt choose to stay at treloy again.

After a days late start due to the floods, upon arrival at the site our first impressions were very well maintained site. We only had a choice of two pitches and chose one a little bit leveller than the others. It was dry when we arrived but after a night of heavy rain the ground was very boggy.A lot depended on the weather. All the E. H. U. Pitches were grass only. The facilities were not adequate enough to accommodate the amount of pitches.Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly but tiled floors made them quite dangerous when wet.We tried to get into the club but it was quite small. This campsite was a great base for surrounding areas and only three miles from newquay beach, but easily accessable to others. We spent a day a mawgan porth beach which was delightful.Padstow is also very nice and worth a visit.Site good for families if the weather is good.

Spent two weeks here early July 07. Staff very amiable and friendly, Toilets adequate and kept clean. (site not busy) Showers, adequate,(continuous button pressing a bore) Outdoor pool clean and typically English. Shop/Cafe limited. Children's play area basic but well maintained. Nearby Airbase is no distraction with very little Air traffic. Site clubhouse is again basic, bar-staff very warm and approachable. The site in general is clean, well kept and colorful. We of course had much rain but the ground is quite porous and drains well. In conclusion Treloy is a clean basic site with no frills, mobility is vital as provisions are limited and there are no local amenities within 3 miles. A good 'touring location' for seeing all parts of Cornwall. Will visit again.

Overall a nice site and good value for money. Well situated and a short journey into newquay. Ground was quite hard and we did need a mallet for knocking pegs in. 2 childrens play areas one a little run down and the pool doesn`t look quite as good as the website pictures, it looks a little aged. The free showers and toilets were very clean and well maintained and had more than adequate toilet roll. The washing facilities are 3 washing machines priced at £3.60, that includes powder and softner and the dryers are priced at 20p for a few minutes but are industrial ones. There is also a large indoor area for washing plates and pans with 8 sinks, also in that area is 2 ironing boards and irons Shop only opens a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening Bar is only small but is well presented and the childrens entertainment was ok Very near to the raf base but noise is not a problem.

Me and my family went in middle of July, great weather, the site was a good site and the cafe sold great meals at reasonable prices. The pool was fine but your not allowed any inflatables in, even though most children did. Good level pitches, the showers were clean although the showers got a bit hot at times. Plenty of parks for younger children and a great club at night with childrens entertainment on the Friday night, we went in. Quite peaceful with no cars speeding around the site. Close by for getting into Newquay. We loved this site and would go there again, very good for the price.

I give this site 4 out of 5 stars. It's got everything you need from electric hook ups, Shop, Cafe, Bar, Swimming pool and on and on. I found the facilities were always clean and tidy and the pitches were large. We took the bus in to town one evening which only took a few minutes and was cheaper than a taxi. There is an RAF base right next door which was good entertainment, however one morning did give us an earlier alarm call than we anticipated. I would definitely visit this site again!

Stayed here for a week, Mum, Dad, 2 teenagers and an 11yr old and we all had a great holiday for the second time. The site owners are helpful and full of info. The pitch was slightly sloping and a little smaller than others but there are a mixture of pitches which all seem to be of varying sizes from extra large to adequate with or without hook up. There are pitches in the top field a little bit further from the facilities but theses seem flatter and have sun all day. The facilities are clean, tidy and well maintained (nothing was broken or blocked) and I never had to queue or wait. Ice packs are 20p a day and there are loads of them. Although we did not use it the park cafe looked good and was very popular. There is a bus service that runs from the site gate right into Newquay which is great for older kids who don't fancy the beach, of which, of course there are plenty of great ones. The swimming pool was not busy and the kids enjoyed it. There is a small bar with nightly entertainment that is not too noisy and the park was generally all quiet by 11:00.
Being between Newquay and Padstow there are loads of great beaches and other attractions within an easy drive. Must do's are: Fish and Chips from Rick Stein's in Padstow, The Eden Project, Watergate and Fistral Beaches and for the really daring the brilliant zip wire over Lusty Glaze beach (make sure you book though).
