Just got back from our stay at Treloy (2 adults 2 children aged 11yrs & 15yrs)
I have to say I was very very pleased with this site.
There was plenty of showers which where free of charge (inc hairdryers) and an endless supply of hot water. The washing up facilities where also very good and again lots of hot water even when it was very busy. There is also iron's and ironing boards again free of charge. There is only 3 washing machines and 2 dryers though and this does cause long queues.
There is a small club on site which gets very full but is also very good with a small games room and tv room. The club has entertainment on the evening.
The children loved the swimming pool, play area and recreation field.
The staff on site where very nice and helpful, there is a small cafe which serves very tasty food but I would advise you not to have any chips.
This site is lovely and I would recommend it to anyone. I cant wait to go back

We stayed here 8to15 08/09 and we had a great time. The site is well looked after and is 5 mins from Newquay. We didn't try the site club as it was swamped with kids and very busy [not our thing] but hey each to there own. We used the site as a base so we went all over Cornwall and had a great time.
The site has everything you need, toilet/shower blocks very clean and tidy/washing machines/dryers. There's a lot on site for the kids to do football pitch/play area/heated out door pool and like I said they're allowed in the pub. There's a onsite shop very basic and a little on the expensive side but there's a Morrisons not too far away.
There's a nine hole golf course and driving range just around the corner which is pretty good. Loads to see and do, too much for one week. If you want an Indian delivered to site I can recommend the green chilli in Newquay but don't order the pops and pickle tray, they're just nasty or I might have got them on a bad day.
Staff were very nice and helpful one guy even though he was busy helped me set up my sat dish, cheers for that. The pitches are not as big as I'd like, you've just got enough room for van/awning and car where as I like to have friends round and bbq outside of the awning wasn't really enough room on my pitch to do this. I did see pitches bigger than mine. There didn't seem to be a separate area for dogs, just got chucked in with everyone else.
Trips out: St Michaels mount is a must, also St Ives, Penzance, too many to mention. All in a very nice site and I would go back again on a bigger pitch armed with a poopa scoop hope this helps

This was our first family camping event and we were really looking forward to it. Our first impression as we drove onto site was that it wasn't as nice as the brochure suggested as a lot of the flora was looking tired but that is probably the case with most.
Our pitch was a little on the small side and made reversing out a little nervy as we were worried about our guide ropes. It was also very muddy and made collapsing the tend unpleasant. It was also on a slight slope which made getting up on a morning hilarious as I kept falling forward as I got off my airbed.
The facilities were fine but beware of the wash room as I left a couple of things there by mistake only to find them gone when I went back. One of these was a frying pan. There weren't enough tumble driers (2) and it was pot luck whether you ever got to dry anything the same day especially as the same two people seemed to be sat there waiting 24/7. These two people thought it was OK to put two towels in each thus tying them up for 15 mins at a time. The play area was brilliant for my youngest and the pool was OK but a bit cold.
My only real gripe is with the enforcement of the site rules as three times in the week there were very loud groups/parties that went on 'till the daft hours and nothing was done about it. I even heard a member of staff discussing it with two ladies that had returned from a night out in Newquay at 2 am.

Visited with the wife and two kids for our first two week stay mid August. We were joined by friends who also bought their three kids. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our pitches. Our friends were non elec where as we needed a hook up but the staff managed to find us pitches opposite each other despite the camp being pretty much full up.
The pitches with hook up were fairly large, however we found that with our family tent (Vango Kura 800DLX) and a second car we had no room at all left on the pitch. The non elec pitches were particularly narrow but fine for smaller 4 to 6 person tents. The area we were on had a slight slope, not noticeable until bed time and worth taking into consideration when pitching!
We had only four or five days of sun out of two weeks, but even when it rained there was good drainage. The site does get sudden bursts of heavy wind as it is fairly exposed in places. Several units suffered from this when the owners were out for the day and no guy lines were set.
The toilets were a reasonable size, most mornings there were three or four people qeueing ahead of us but no more than a ten minute wait. Well maintained and cleaned, if the floor was a bit muddy there are 'squeegie's' to quickly clean up before you use the shower. Hot water no problem at all.
The site chef was brilliant, full english for £4, I recommend the hungry camper breakfast though! We didn't use him in the evening for anything more than a bag of chips, the evening meals were limited to a selection of around 8, appeared to be pretty good value, between £5 and £6.
Shop was pretty basic, selling most things you may have forgotten but, as mentioned by others, don't expect to find the makings of a full meal every night!
Pool was good enough to have the kids begging to go back every other hour. No life guard but rescue equipment in place and an 'emergency' button to summon assistance if needed.
Club was a reasonable size. The seating is fine until an act is on in the evening. Most entertainment starting at 9pm when everyon seemed to be finishing their day activities and wanting a couple of drinks so seats ran out very quickly. Best two nights of the holiday were watching Alan Deane, 'The Belfast Busker'. Very entertaining and well worth the walk back up the hill after one or two Strawberry Ciders!
If you fancy Newquay for an evening instead there is a bus service from directly outside which seemed very popular.
Okay. Mostly positive comments, but there are some bad points, mainly around kids!
The TV was populated by teenage kids almost as soon as the games area was opened, if you dared to enter you were stared at as if you are invading 'their' space. I asked the staff in the games room on a couple of occasions, however, as they speak limited English then communication there was an issue. As soon as the games room closed this group seemed to move to an area outside of the shower block in a large group. Not that they made a lot of noise but it was intimidating for my partner and the kids when they returned to brush teeth etc.
The site all in all is well maintained, reasonably priced with good facilities we would return in the future.

We were two adults and two teenagers, in a combination of a campervan, awning and tent. We were welcomed in a very friendly manner by the owner and shown to a large pitch. All the pitches adjoin a small road for ease of moving around the site. The site is very well run with the most clean and shiny dishwashing facilities I have ever seen as well as iron and washing machines and clean and shiny showers with endless hot water.
My own personal niggle were the queues of young women in the ladies facilities all trying to straighten hair, apply make-up and beautify themselves at all times of day (I assume in preparation for going into Newquay at night!?). These lovely young women might be an attraction for some readers but was quite annoying if you just wanted two minutes to clean your face before turning in. Some people hogged the dryers and mirrors for 30 minutes each.
There is a bus from outside the site - but get there early as it only seats 30 people. We had a fab driver who said 'well there's lots of traffic, where do you all want to go?!' and then dropped off people at their various locations!
The bar had some varied entertainment from a bitter old comedian who appeared to dislike children, to a great Meatloaf impersonator and our favourite a pub quiz.
The play area looked good as did the pool although we didn't use, and the onsite shop sold basics and ice-creams.
We had a good time here.

Visited Treloy at end of July. Only booked a couple of days before arriving as was last minute thing. We normally go for the advertised quiet/no entertainment sites. But as we booked late none were free. But I'm so glad we gave Treloy a chance. They provided everything, playground, entertainment, swimming pool, shop, cafe. Although we didn't use the cafe it was nice to know it was there, we didn't go to the entertainment, but we didn't hear it either. (have a feeling it was low key rather than caberet) .
Our pitch was very large and water points were close. The staff were all extremely friendly. The site had everything but at the same time as remaining quiet and quaint. My son loved the recreation field where he could play football or cricket.
The most impressive thing were the showers and toilets there were lots and they were always clean they seemed brand new. I never waited for a shower and as an added bonus hairdryers were supplied although only one worked. Everywhere was kept clean except towards the end of the week the soap ran out in the dispensers. One complaint was that the dog walk area was small and not really somewhere I wanted my dog to run or what I expected. But we took our dog out and about so it wasn't that necessary. Only other complaint was the weather - Seems to be monsoon season in Cornwall during summer holidays. Bet its lovely there in May/June.
Site really close to fab beaches many of which are dog friendly.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Treloy. It was our first camping trip, and we had a great time! The site is very well organised, and there are plenty of toilets/showers/dish washing facilities. All of the facilities were kept very clean. There is a small shop on site, selling basics at a very reasonable price. Our pitch was a bit on the small side, however our tent was fairly big (Oregon 800). The on site club is quite small, but prices were fair. Staff were friendly.
There is a bus stop directly outside the site, with buses direct into Newquay. Car parking fees in the town are quite expensive (£1.10 per hour), so you can spend a fair amount during your stay. Newquay itself is lovely and the beaches are very clean. You must try the cornish cream teas and fish and chips from Flounders!
There is a Morrisons about 10 mins drive away, but it gets very busy! It is 3 miles into Newquay, and this cost about £10 in a taxi. The site is next to an RAF airbase, but we were never disturbed by any noise.
All in all, despite the weather being awful (torrential rain and gale force winds!), we had a great time, and we have caught the camping bug! We would return to Treloy!

The site is very large and very well maintained. There are clear sections and all the pegs are numbered, they're flexible if you want to move your tent, just ask the guy who runs you up to your site after paying.
All the pitches are in lines and with a hard road, it rained several times whilst we were there but never had any problems with wet underfoot.
The site is a 5 minute drive to central newquay, there's a bus that runs until 2am some nights for 3 quid return that stops outside the site every hour.
There was free use of an iron and 9 wash up spots. The showers were like in a swimming baths with a push button, perfectly adequate and very clean generally.
The campsite has a policy of no same sex groups but they're seemed to be some groups of people who weren't so considerate as others and come friday or saturday night they wouldn't shut up till after 12. All in all it wasn't that bad as other places I've seen for it.
Very cheap, worked out me and the good lady 12quid a night, Bargain.
I would return to this campsite and I would recommend it for those reading this review.

Lovely site, not too big and very family oriented.
The toilet and shower facilities were great - plenty of them and with hooks and seats in the shower cubicles so your stuff didn't get wet. Always clean, with hairdryers provided. Only negative comment would be that the mirrors are set for midgets - there wasn't a single mirror I could see above the chest in!
The dishwashing facilities are indoors - no washing up in gales, and the water was SO hot that you had to add cold - this was a first for me on a campsite, you actually felt like the dishes got properly clean.
Laundry facilities also good - I didn't use the washing machines because they automatically use Persil and Comfort - which is great for convenience, but I am allergic no bio-liquids. However it was handy to have driers, irons and ironing boards.
Son (8) said they play area looked rubbish when we arrived, but both kids ended up loving it - son played on it non-stop and DD (10) 'chilled' with her mates there. It was open till about 10pm which was late enough, and we were glad we weren't camped too close to it.
The evening entertainment was good - and the club room was just the right size, but the site was more than half-empty and you still had to get there early to get a seat, so I reckon in high season it wouldn't be big enough. Still, I wouldn't want it bigger either so a difficult one to call. The drinks seemed very reasonably priced.
Our pitch was large, but we noticed a lot of the pitches were quite narrow - we had heavy rain and no problem with drainage - probably down to the slope on the pitch. We did end up every morning at the 'bottom' of the bed pod!
The site was mostly quiet at night, which was great, but unfortunately on the odd occasion when people were making noise it didn't appear to be policed.
We didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked very nice.
The site is right beside Newquay airport and from the google earth piccies we were a bit worried, but I can honestly say I wasn't bothered once by planes - and I am really the sort of person that would get annoyed if it was a problem.
We were able to get on our pitch at 11am which was fantastic - it wasn't so great having to be off at 10am, with the people moving onto our pitch arriving at 9.40am and being parked next to us - talk about pressure. But I guess you can't have it both ways.
So, we would definitely rate this site, and if going back to the Newquay area would definitely use it again.
The Newquay area was great - parking in Newquay itself is quite busy, but we always managed to get a space in the Sainsburys car park. The council owned beaches charge £5 per day - but you can't move between them. If you want to do this then there is apparently a £35 7-day ticket that allows you to come and go as you please - you have to watch though because some car parks are not the council's e.G. Fistral and Watergate bay. We went to Porth beach in the afternoon (£3 after 2pm) and to Mawgan Porth where its £3 all day.
We went to GoonHilly for the day - I personally thought this was a rip-off. It cost £26 for a family of 4 and advertises 'interactive' exhibits - however the interactive bit is part of an organised bus tour and you only get 8 minutes in the interactive room which if you are on a full bus like we were doesn't even give you enough time to see all the exhibits, never mind have a go. Especially as some parents are content to let their children monopolise the exhibits so the other kids don't get a look in, and seem oblivious to their screaming babies when you are trying to listen to the videos.

We stayed on this site for a week at the end of June, weather was brilliant so made for an enjoyable time.
The campsite was fabulous. I read some of the reviews and decided this was the place for us.
We had a huge pitch with hook-up, and the grass was well drained (it did rain 1 night). All the facilities (toilets, showers, kitchen sinks, washing rooms) were clean, tidy, spacious and there were enough of them to accommodate everyone on the site.
There was a great kids play area. With a new one being constructed. Lovely outdoor pool and lounging area, bar and TV room, small but didn't really need anything bigger. Good take away and small shop with essentials (ie beer and wine!)
Overall was a perfect site, and we could not find any faults. Would definitely return.
