This site was a surprisingly good find, on our way home from the South West.
Just a couple of miles off the motorway, with a Morrisons en-route.
For a site essentially in the town, it's spacious and relaxed, private, and has good security gates if you're concerned about being so close to the town centre.
Friendly staff on arrival.
It's worth a relaxed evening stroll into the town, along the riverside, or just to the Abbey, which is you can see from the site and is only a few hundred yards away.
A great stop-off point if you're whizzing up or down the M5, but a great spot for soaking up the olde - worldeness of Tewkesbury.

We have visited friends which was staying on this site earlier in the year.
We found the site clean, attractive and very well kept.
We had the typical bank holiday weather but the facilities were in my opinion exceptionally clean and tidy.
Its in a perfect location with the town centre and all things that are required on a day to day basis within walking distance. Morrisons is a very small car drive away 2 mile or so.
Its a stone throw from the motorway so perfect for caravans.
The staff were more than polite and helpful and was in no rush to move us off on the monday. Obviously there were no rush coming in following the bank holiday.
All in all this a great site, perfectly located in a well kept park. We have already booked for august for a weekend and hopefully the weather will be better.

We stopped here from one night on the way back from a trip to the Lake District. Easy access from the M5, J9.
The site has all grass pitches, most unlevel, so levellers needed. Some of the pitches are quite close together. Facilities good, clean & warm.
The town was very busy with a fair, so a lot of the main roads were shut off.
We found 2 doggie friendly pubs, the Nottingham, nice pub but unfortunately didn't do food on a Friday night! And the Black Bear were we ate, very nice basic pub food, and SO SO cheap!
Will probably use this site again for trips up North.

I called for 1 night on way back from Tenby, excellent site near the abbey, an easy walk into town (10 mins) toilets/showers very clean, as per usual Caravan Club standards, good size hardstanding pitches, plenty of service points staff very helpful.
Plenty of shops in town centre, supermarket close by.
Nice town with walks by the river, (Avon & Severn meet here)
Boat rides on the river, plenty of eateries & pubs close by.
Only 2 miles from M5 (J9)
Ideal for a stop over if travelling to/from west country, south wales, or North

After reading some of the comments in the reviews we felt we needed to comment in case they turned people away from what we found to be an enjoyable break. OK IT DOES GET BUSY but it's so popular, the bells were no problem to us and everything clean and tidy. Our experience of the staff was that, although there were guidelines that had to be initiated and followed, which could have been looked on as 'jobs worth', we found the staff went out of their way to be helpful' A couple of things of interest we found out by accident were The Abbey is Dog friendly and ours joined us for Sundy evening and on the way out we ate at a pub called 'The Anchor 1774' at the top of the town. The meals were cheap, with fresh veg,&'proper chips'cooked individually while you wait.Excellent, friendly pleasant staff (and local clientel) but the biggest bonus DOG FRIENDLY. Our pleasures are small, but this break ticked all the boxes!

We use this site as a one-night stop-over usually when we are heading 'North'. Whatever time of year we use it, it's packed at weekends. Just a short detour off the M5 with a handy Morrisons on the way to the site for a fuel stop if needed! Really handy for the town with numerous pubs, restaurants, cafes, tearooms and takeaways if you don't fancy cooking. We can highly recommend the Indian Restaurant nearest the site!
All grass pitches - some small and some do not accommodate motorhomes (soft ground). 2 toilet blocks - up to the usual CC standards of course - with washing up sinks if required.
Lovely wardens. We got chatting to one and discovered that we actually lived about 5 miles away from each other in Cornwall! :o)
Will definitely use again.

A well-kept, clean site. Very nice location.
We visited on August bank holiday weekend - the site was practically full when we arrived at 5pm on the Friday. First time I have used a Club Site. Disappointed that pitches are not allocated - impossible to find a pitch in a full site - would have been nice if the Warden had lead us to a suitable pitch instead of just saying help yourself! We did try but umpteen pitches said 'soft ground, no motorhomes'. Finally found a pitch at the entrance. Reversed in to a pitch only to be pounced upon by a Warden - 'oooh, you need to move across a couple of feet as the marker peg is not at the centre of your motorhome!' -
We had two dogs with us. We pegged them up on the grass and on their leads just outside our motorhome whilst we got ourselves sorted. Oooh, along comes the warden on his scooter - 'the sign does say no dog fouling - I just saw your dog do a wee!' (Oh no! can't have my dog doing a wee on the grass can we??). Can I ask, what is the point in allowing dogs on site if they can't wee in peace? I understand 'fouling' - I pick it up, but a wee on the grass? Give me a break! Also, again, we had only just arrived and had not had time to get our bearings.
The site was lovely if full. Toilet block was nice, clean and warm. Could do with a few more showers (only four provided in the men's and the ladies).
Really convenient proximity to the town centre for provisions etc.
We ate at Caffe Ricci which is a Italian restaurant in the town

I don't know whether we picked the wrong weekend or if it is like that all the time, but we found it a very noisy site. The bells never stopped ringing at the abbey, the cricket match on one side of the site went on all day, and the man at the steam rally on the other side of the site was on the tannoy for the whole weekend.
The site itself was very busy and we found the pitches which are all grass were quite close together, the toilets were nice and clean but I think the wardens could have smiled a bit more. The abbey is well worth a visit and it is only a few minutes walk into the town. We found a nice place called the abbey tearooms which do a really lovely reasonably priced cream tea.

Just got back from a weekend at this site. We had been looking forward to this for some time as we should have gone last September but the site cancelled the booking as it was flooded!
Anyway, disappointed with our weekend. The site was busy - there was a Medieval Festival on in Tewkesbury - so the site was packed full, sardines and tin springs to mind! All the usual facilities and nice and clean but just so crammed in! We picked a pitch and set up - 4 hours later the warden appears and tells us to move about 12 inches forward as the peg we had picked was too far back - what was annoying was he was suggesting we had moved the peg! Anyway no offer of help to move and as we were about to start the BBQ we were not best pleased. Thank goodness we didn't have the awning up coz no way would we have taken that down to move for Mr jobs worth. This tainted our whole weekend and as others have also mentioned on their reviews a smile would be nice from time to time!
Apart from that setting is good for town, Abbey and a good field (off site) to give the dogs a run. Sadly, not one we would go back to or recommend based our experience.

This is my second visit to this site, very handy to the M5 and 5 minutes walk from the town centre.Booking in was friendly. There are no hardstandings and pitches/layout seemed muddled and as it was busy it seemed very crowded. There are three toilet blocks but I still had to queue for a shower and to use the dishwashing.
Tewkesbury Abbey is very close and well worth a visit. There are FREE guided tours twice a day. We went to the 11am tour. Lasted an hour, very interesting included a mention of the Abbey's Ghost. There are river cruises (£3 per adult, lasts about 30 mins) although didn't get the chance to try. The town has plenty of shops and restaurants many seemed to rave about 'My Great-Grandfathers Restaurant'. There is also the 'Rose' theatre with plays and a cinema and where the late great Eric Morecambe had his last performance.
Its a good site, very convenient. Large Morrisons with a 24 hr garage 5 min drive away. I don't think I would return for a while. Just so busy and as I say the pitches didn't impress.
