Lovely new site with immaculate facilities and a friendly welcome.
Right by Abbey with view of floodlit tower at night. Town is interesting with lots of medieval buildings, museums, loads of pubs and cafes. Also a butcher with an interesting selection of BBQ food and a deli with lovely salads.
Riverside walks close by as well so plenty to do. Huge park next door for walking dog. Also Park Run next door on Saturdays.
Will definitely be visiting soon again as 2 days not long enough.

Top class site which appears to have been recently refurbished.
Excellent facilities with well manicured gardens and an easy walk to the town which has a wide selection of shops ans restaurants.
Nearest fuel at Morrisons - 5 mins away.
A well run site - nothing negative to say.

Nice site within easy walk to tewksbury town. Good clean facilities with a new toilet block with hot showers. Well laid out.
Drive into site can be awkward if lots of traffic going in and out as quite narrow but manageable.
Nice area just outside to walk the dog

We regularly use the Tewkesbury Abbey site as it is particularly convenient for people travelling up and down the M5/M6. There are a lot of pitches on the site and they are very close together so the site does have a slightly cramped feel, however it is very well located and therefore we don’t mind this.
The site is laid out in rows and to get to the toilet block you need to walk to the end of the row where your pitch is, walk down to the row which the toilet block is on, and then walk along to reach the toilet block.
This appeared to be too much walking for some people and many people were cutting across other peoples pitches to make the walk to the toilet block shorter. While we were there the wardens were busy putting up signs and some fencing to try to stop this from happening so it must be a regular occurrence.
The toilet block is very good and up to the usual high standard of the caravan and motorhome club.
The town of Tewkesbury is only a few minutes walk away and there are plenty of shops and pubs and cafés. The abbey next door is also interesting for a look around and we will continue to use this site as a stopover as we head north and south.

This was our second visit to this site and the first since its refurbishment. The greeting we received was very warm, the new facilities are very good.
We had the misfortune to stay in one of the wettest June weeks ever and the nearby River broke its banks. Our pitch was on higher ground but we were woken in the early hours by staff moving units at risk of flooding. They worked tirelessly and their attitude and work was exemplary. The site unfortunately had to be closed.
Before that we managed to have two very pleasant days out. One in Tewkesbury which is within easy walking distance of the site. We had lunch at the nearby Bell Hotel, which proved to be good value, and then walked into town via the Riverside Walk.
The following day we used the regular bus service from the site gates to Cheltenham. Then it rained.

This is an excellent site right in the middle of Tewkesbury. It is close to the Abbey which is free to enter and is dog friendly. Many shops and services nearby. We liked the Bell hotel best but there is plenty of choice. Bus service close by.
New and excellent shower/toilet block. We had a service pitch which had an excellent waste outlet point with a bit of a clip to keep the waste pipe in place. Very good.
The site is currently a bit 'bare' but that will improve as the new trees flourish.
No facilities for children on site but a very short walk away there is a playground and extensive grounds for ball games etc. Site wardens very helpful and friendly. This is a good site for a longer stay but also for an over night stop as it is easy to reach from the motorway.

We have been coming to this site for quite a few years so have experienced both the old layout and the newly refurbished one, I must admit I prefer the new one.
We love this site for the ease of access from the M5 and when here, the close proximity of the lovely town. The wardens have always been great and nothing is too much trouble plus a warm welcome has always greeted us.
This is a very busy site with lots of people using it as an overnight stop-over going north or south on the M5, the day after we arrived there were 50+ new arrivals expected.
THe new toilet block is wonderful, the two originals were well past their sell-by date. The multi-surface hard-standing was a new one on me, basically a block paving rectangle so no mud when wet, if you want to erect an awning you adjust your position to have the awning over the grass.
We had a Serviced Pitch which was great, especially when raining, the area for the car was rather tight but this left a huge living area at the side of the van, perhaps moving the red peg another foot to the right would be an improvement?
Our chosen pitch 73 and adjacent 72 can get a bit noisy first thing in the morning as the bins (especially the glass recycle one) and motorhome drain-down facilities are just the other side of the wire fence. More thought by others when shouting directions to their partner whilst maneuvering over the drains plus switching off the engine whilst queuing would help a lot.
The park outside the gates is great for kids, there is a fairly new play area for all ages and room for as many games of cricket and football as you like. Dog walking, or just a gentle stroll by the little stream is fantastic too. The abbey and it's gardens are a haven of peace and the gentle ding-dong of the clock's bell ringing out the quarter hours as time passes is a reminder of the less hectic lifestyle of times gone bye.
This is one of our favourite sites and we have booked to go back again later in the year. The newly planted shrubs and trees will take years to reach maturity and this will break up the one large field feeling and add immensly to the ambiance of the site.
Dave.

Easy to find and access this site which is in the Town centre. Short walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and the Abbey itself.
There is a park opposite which people were using to walk their dogs which looked nice.
We visited the Abbey which is excellent.
We also ate at the Royal Hop Pole which is the local Wetherspoons, although you wouldn’t realise it, it felt quite traditional despite being very large - we thought it very good value.
The site itself is immaculate, showers the usual CMC standard and very friendly and helpful staff.
Only minor negatives: it’s very popular and difficult to get on, and staff start cutting the grass around your pitch before you have left.
That said, we really like this site and have visited twice so far.

I cannot agree with the negative comments left by the previous reviewer. It is in deed work in progress and after such a major refurbishment it is only to be expected that there is still work to be done.
The new central facilities are very good but the underfloor heating needs adjustment as it was cool during the 2 nights we stayed. OK the lack of of footpaths to the facilities through the pitches needs sorting. Overall a good site which will get better.
Location to the town centre cannot be beaten and easy access to the park, canal footpaths and common are great for walkers. If you want a good meal try the Bell hotel (pet friendly) just opposite the Abbey.

This site encapsulates all that is good and bad about Caravan Club sites. It’s a great location, a short walk from a lovely town. Lovely large toilet block.
It’s the site itself and it’s layout which let it down. The site plan, which I looked at online before I visited, shows lots of trees in the middle of the site, which suggest some landscaping and privacy. In fact there are none, and you will lack any privacy unless you are on the edges of the site.
We almost booked an all weather pitch but were very glad we didn’t, as these are all (apart from 4), in the centre and all overlooked all around. It is just a mass of caravans and motorhomes, with nothing to break it up and it’s not attractive.
There are no pathways for shortcuts to the toilet block, so because of the layout it inevitably means you are walking almost through other pitches on wet grass, or you walk the long way on the road, which of course no one does.
You also need to walk through pitches to reach the service points. Another completely daft design- the fully serviced pitches are those nearest to the toilet block. Some unserviced pitches may be a longish walk.
In the MH&CC handbook it states the TV reception is good. It’s not. We have 3 different aerials, one of which will always give us great TV, but not here.
If it were not for the proximity to this lovely town, we would not return.
