Large modern CAMC site located very close to great town centre which initially looked run down but interesting history.
Superb facilities block.
Mixture of pitch types all large and fairly level.
Mostly tarmac roads and lots of greenery with excellent layout.
Quiet for cc site.
Tv, WiFi and mobile all good.
Wardens pleasant, unobtrusive and helpful.
Side designed to cope with flooding.

Another great one night stopover at Tewkesbury Abbey Club Site. This site is so well positioned for stopovers as it is only a few minutes drive from the M5.
This time we were on a multi surface pitch which was a block paving pitch. You pitch the caravan with the door side right up against the edge of the pitch and park the car to the left of the caravan, also on the block paving area.
Depending on the weather and site regulations, you may be allowed to put up an awning on the grass beside the caravan.
When we were here last month, it was before the second phase of lockdown easing so the showers were not open.
This time, however, the showers were open and as a result, the queues for the toilet block were ridiculous. I went to use the toilet at 7. 15am and when I got there, all 4 bands for the ladies block were in use and there were 4 other ladies queuing, all carrying shower gear. I only wanted to use the toilet but it was going to take ages to get a band and be able to get inside. The Caravan Club really need to consider having separate bands for those who just want to use the toilet.

We use the CMC site at Tewkesbury quite regularly as a stop over on our way north and south as it is very conveniently situated for the M5 however, we usually arrive in the afternoon and leave first thing the next morning so see little of the area. This time we decided to stay for 2 nights on our way south to see what there is to see!
Check in was well organised for COVID with the warden coming to your car as you arrive and giving you all the details you need before allowing you to go and choose a pitch. Once pitched up you return to reception to pay and hand in your test and trace form.
The site itself is great with a mix of grass pitches, all weather block paved pitched and gravel fully serviced pitches. We were on a fully serviced pitch and it was very handy to have the water connection but we were unable to use the waste drain as it was in the far corner of the pitch and as you have to pitch with the car on the left and the caravan in the middle with space for the awning on the right, the drain was too far away for our usual drain pipe to reach. If you are booking a serviced pitch, you will definitely need a long flexible waste hose.
The toilet block had 3 male and 3 female toilets open and was using a band system to ensure that only 3 people at a time were inside the block. Everyone seemed to be considerate to each other and social distancing was not a problem.
We love walking and found a lovely circular walk from the site down to the river and then along the river to the village of Deerhurst. It is 2. 5 miles each way if you come and go by the same route but if you return via a slightly longer inland route, the circular walk is about 6 miles in total. Deerhurst has a really interesting very old church which was welcome shelter when the rain came!
Our OS map showed a number of similar walks in the area so we are definitely going to stay 2 nights in future and explore more of the area rather than just using the site as a quick overnight.

What a great site. Many of the pitches seem to have been newly paved and we were offered a choice of grass or hard standing. Nice level pitches with plenty of water points nearby.
We didn’t use the facilities but saw the staff around constantly cleaning the site and everything was spotless.
A good position right next to the abbey, five minute walk into town.
So many good walks around that we didn’t have time for everything and have already booked for next year, a first for us.
Really enjoyed both Tewkesbury and the site.

One of our favourite sites, had a great week, town on door step, great-pubs, shops, eating-out, the abbey is a must see.
The site has friendly wardens, and well maintained to high standards. And so much to do in surrounding areas.
Trying to get booked up this year has been no-good so busy, so recommend booking up well in advance.
Can’t wait to visit again.

Nice campsite great location. Good facilities. Paid £40 for one night as we weren’t members. They suggested we join the Caravanning club to save £12 which we did but joined the wrong one so it cost £81 in total For one night. Which wasn’t their fault I suppose.
No tv signal and the WiFI asked us to register which we did and they then wanted further payment which we decided not to pay. Tewkesbury is lovely

1st time we have stayed at TEWKESBURY ABBY campsite, 3 night stay at this lovely campsite,
The owners were very nice when we booked in,
The toilet block is the best I have ever been to on a campsite, they were outstanding, usually use the disabled room, but the main block was so big and every thing I needed, so very clean,
The grounds were well kept, and gardens were lovely,
Will be coming back soon,
Oh just 2 minutes walk into the town which has every thing you need,

Hadn't been here for several years (could never get a pitch at short notice) and it's changed a lot since last here, loads of hardstandings now and refurbished toilets/showers.
We were given a grass pitch, my booking said standard pitch, then after speaking to reception we found out the CAMC app is inaccurate as it doesn't give a choice of hardstandings, I wondered why we got a grass pitch.
The lovely warden I spoke to rang H. O in front of me and explained and was told it would be changed (I won't hold my breath, as it also says it accepts tents which apparently it hasn't done since the refurb last year). If you want hardstanding, then best ringing site direct.
It happened to be Mop Fair time in the town but there was little noise in the evening.
It rained a lot and we were concerned about churning up the pitch when leaving and were told 'if your wheels start spinning, just stop and tell us and we will come with mats to get you off' but as it happened we drove off easily despite ground being very wet and soft.
We like to leave van on site and walk into towns and Tewkesbury is ideal for this. Lots of old crooked buildings nestled among newer ones. Shops are not very inspiring though (loads of charity shops like most towns), there is a Morrisons about 15 minutes walk away.

Wonderful site, friendly staff. Well maintained with large pitches. EHU, water & drainage. 1st class chemical disposal.
Modern block with superb ablution facilities. Laundry price slightly high at £4. 50 per wash & the same for tumble dryer.
Lovely grounds & easy access for our 28ft MH.
Abbey 2 mins walk, town 5 mins. Highly recommend
