The owners are really friendly and helpful, facilities are spotless. However, the site is dominated by caravans with everyone in bed by 10:30! Don't get me wrong, we have two small children and are happy to have them tucked up in bed and asleep by nine with a minimum of noise. It's just a little strange to find my wife and I whispering to each other while sitting in a field at 10:30! A group of four girls next door, who were not making a noise, no music - just chatting, had a complaint made about them. Now come on, if they were causing a problem it would have a been a problem to us. To be fair the owners were slightly embarrassed by the triviality of the complaint. The site is very well looked after and if you like a very peaceful location then this is the one for you!

Just got back from here and it was fantastic. The site has new owners and they are great Its not strict and children are very welcome The owners even got them an easter egg you dont get that at many places.
The site is a bit out in the sticks but soooo quiet and the site and toilets are immaculate ive never seen anywhere so clean. The showers are 20p but are hot and quite long the cubicles are big too with good hooks for your towels, the toilets are plentyfull and spotless.
They have recycling facilities and basic supplies in the shop all in all its great now the new owners are there so please dont think kids arent welcome because its not like that now
Oh yes chippy in Wombleton is good but leaves the skin on the fish ! The one in Kirbymoorside takes the skin off and is fantastic

Modern well kept site but I found the atmosphere to be a bit oppressive with excessive rules. Not the place to consider if you have children (I didn't have any with me but I don't object to them being around and enjoying themselves). I overheard one of the caravan residents complaining of the noise of bottles going in the bottle bank (during the daytime). Made relaxing difficult, felt like you were just waiting for a complaint if you stepped out of line.

Excellent camping site. The owners were helpful and friendly and always available. The facilities were clean with a baby bath. 20p for a shower but it lasted a long time.
Site quiet and we had a great relaxing weekend there. Would definitely stay again.

We have visited this site several times now and although I should keep quiet about it, it is a little gem. It is not a site for families which is the beauty of it for us, nice and quiet with strict noise curfews which are adhered to. The couple who run this site are always about and very friendly. The facilities are clean and the site is well looked after. No problem in recommending this one!

My husband and our dog Bobby have just spent our first weekend camping ! We were very fraut with the hot weather to erect our tent but David (Owner) came to kindly help us which was great! The facilities were very well though out. The toilets,Shower and Washing facilities were very well kept and exceptionally clean.Brenda would kindly freeze my cool bag blocks at no charge. Bobby really enjoyed his Doggy shower after been out all day. Very good idea for when your dog is hot or to get any dirt off him.
The airfield at the back of the camp site was a great place to excercise your dog.Security very good. Coded gate system to get in and out. You would often see either David or Brenda cycling around the site doing jobs or just chatting to people or they would be near the site office, never too far away incase you needed something.
I would certainly rate this site 10/10.We will be visiting it again later on in the summer.

We enjoyed thoroughly our stay at Wombleton caravan park. It is a quiet site we stayed here for 2 nights (Sun. and Mon.) The owners are friendly and helpful and the toilet and shower block are kept immaculately clean. If you are looking for a caravan park in this area I am sure you will not be disappointed with your stay on this site. I would cetainly visit it again.

Visited this site for 1 week from August the 6th what a great holiday made all the better by a fantastic camp site owners David and Brenda were very friendly and very helpful the site is in spotless condition very clean and very quiet. Toilet block 10 out of 10 with a charge of 20p for use of showers hair dryer, sinks for washing crockery and laundry Excellant. The site is situated by the old wombleton airfield that was used by the Canadian RAF during WW2 God bless their soles, a wonderful place for a stroll and walk the doggies with a doggy shower at the water point.I recomend a meal at the sun pub about 3 miles through the lanes on a wednesday night its home made stake pie with chips or mashed potatoes service is excellant and all for £3.50p but be there early its very popular. If your thinking of travelling to this area this site is a must we will most certainly be returning to this wonderful site 10 out of 10 for us.

June 2004 This is a very good campsite only marred by the over zealous owner, he tries to cram you in where he wants not you, which is ok but you may not want to be placed next to a tourer when youre in a tent!
But that said its very clean, if the owner chilled it would be spot on.
