Not long back from this site after staying for 4 nights in our tent on an electric hook up. Lovely, well kept site with excellent owners who are friendly, helpful and easy going. The site is mostly caravans which appear static for most of the year, which shows how good the site is.
Shower/toilet facilities modern, very clean and never once busy. Good washing up room and laundry which even has a microwave! Cool packs frozen for free (Donation to RNLI if you feel generous)
Small library for borrowing books/DVD's free of charge.
Stayed with our 5 year old boy and although no specific facilities for him, not a problem as there was plenty of space on the camping field for playing.
If you are after peace & quiet, good facilities & friendly owners, would highly recommend.

We have just returned from visiting this site as a couple and I can't recommend it enough, we were in a tent with electric hook up. Lovely clean site, in peaceful surroundings. The owners David & Brenda and their son James very helpful and friendly. The toilet/shower facilities are excellent and kept very clean and whoever complained that the showers were very small must have been in a different place as we found them to be very spacious. There is a small shop with the basics also gas exchange and charcoal for barbecues. The pub in the village, The Plough, does great meals at reasonable prices but not on a Sunday evening, the drinks are very reasonably priced too. The site is also ideally placed for visiting the North Yorkshire moors and all its attractions. We will definitely be returning.

Visited this site at the weekend. Very friendly helpful owners. There is a small shop on-site and there is even a small library and if you have a tv/dvd player you can also borrow dvd's free! Showers (20p) and toilets are very clean. A quiet site, great for relaxing in. Didn't see a playground for kids. A short drive from Helmsley Village. Plenty of places of interest to visit locally. A very well maintained site. Definitely visit again.

This is our 3rd visit to this site, facilities ie toilet / shower / wash room areas are excellent having just been refurbished. The site it quiet and in a secluded, tranquil, beautiful spot, ideal for the 'get away from it all'. Caters for all age groups. Local pub approx 1 mile away (Plough) has the best food going with a very warm welcome, approx 4 miles to Helmsley lots going on there - Can highly recommend, biggest mention to the owners Dave and Brenda they will make you most welcome !

When booking we were informed we could be put in the top field, this is the overflow and was far too crowded for our liking.
The site is well situated for the moors, coast and York, the shower block is clean and modern, showers are hot and plenty for the 20p charge.
The lady owner and son are pleasant, and although the husband can be the same, he seems to get stressed and was unnecessarily abrupt and sarcastic. This is a shame because like other reviewers it spoilt our stay.

We are a family of 4 (2 boys of 11 and 14). We stayed here for 2 nights with mixed weather.
The site is lovely and run by a very friendly family. The toilets and showers are very, very clean and the 20p charge for a good hot shower is well worth the payment.
The site has strict rules regarding noise after 10.30pm and there are no facilities for children to play, which essentially makes it an adult site and perfect for those people wanting a quiet camping experience.
I would love to use the site again but not with the kids, as they have nowhere to play and entertain themselves.
The pub in the village is just 1 mile away (15 minute walk) - it has a fw draught beers and offers a good range of food at reasonable prices.
Helmsley is a lovely market town approximately 3 miles away.
To conclude - a lovely site and well worth a visit.

Didn't really want to submit a review because this is one that should be kept quiet for those who are in the know. A true gem with lovely owners.
The site is immaculate and there is an old WW2 airfield adjacent for walking the dogs or just imagining the Lancasters coming in with their young Canadian crews.
This is definitely one campsite we will be returning to.

A quiet peaceful site, well run and friendly. The toilet facilities are excellent and plentiful, no queuing for a trap in a morning unlike some sites. The guy below who found a cobweb must have been up very early and happened across a very industrious spider as facilities are spotless. The owners have a can do attitude and are only too willing to help out if you have a problem.
The site is well positioned to give access to numerous walks being only a mile from Pickering to Helmsley road.

Lovely peaceful site with friendly owners. Toilet and showers are advertised as being modern and spotlessly clean. We didn't find that to be strictly true. Whilst they were basicly cleaned every day not enough attention to detail. Cowbebs in the corners and paintwork on the windows not particularly clean. I would also get rid of the dusty fake flowers. Showers always hot but cubicles quite small and tiles are grimy. In fact the block could do with a complete overhall in comparison to a lot of the sites we have visited recently. A lot of water is wasted on the showers as 20p lasts quite a long time. Pitches could also do with being marked out a bit better with a little more space between.
