This was our second visit to this camp site having first visited in the summer with some friends. This time we brought the kids! What a fabulous place. The site is set in the middle of the woods and the surrounding countryside, especially Dunwich itself, really needs to be explored. This can be done by car, on foot or, as we did, by pushbike! The staff at the site are a font of all knowledge and only too pleased to help. The museum is small but very interesting and the fish and chip shop is a must! We will certainly be returning this year!

Stayed 4 nights during half term with my family (6yr and 4yr old ).All facilities used were nice and clean(nice hot showers) and staff very friendly. Set in woods it does provide that nice proper camping feel. The only thing for me is that the setting quickly lost the kids from view, but they kept coming back when called as the playground was very near to the pitch. Good location for exploring this part of the east coast. Southwold, pleasurewood hills and dunwich all done during our stay. Will come back next year.
Note Beach can be reached from site steps from small cliff,This may prove too steep for some.

I pre booked my visit and I have to say I'm glad, they gave me a great spot right next to the cliff and the beach stairs, was a great suprise for my partner. The campsite was spotless and it was lovely to be surrounded by woodland. The toilets and shower block, couldn't have been any cleaner they even smelt nice, one of the best facilities I have seen at a campsite.
I heard that walberswick was a great place to crab so decided to walk there. Was not a good idea, as it took a lot longer then expected, at least a 3 hour walk each way. (however the crabbing is good and they even sell crabbing bait at the ice cream van in the car park)
Staff were polite and helpful
And we will be returning soon (when it gets a little warmer ha. )

Visited this site overnight with my two eldest kids for our first camping trip, so I don't have anything to compare this to, but I was very happy with the experience.
The facilities seems very good (clean toilets, nice hot showers & a nice playground), the staff very friendly from the first greeting at reception, to the shop and bar staff, and the pitch large, although we may have been in one of the bigger ones (215 - see the site details elsewhere).
The site is heavily wooded so the ground was very dry and the pitches shady; it took me a while to locate the pitch though from the site map since it showed the road/track to the east of the pitch when actually it was to the west, a very minor point but it would be easy to walk it from the reception car park first rather than reversing up and down the camp site looking like, well errr a first timer!
The site location is very good, with easy access to the mixed shingle and sand beach, plus Dunwich Heath and Dunwich village are easily walkable.
All in all top marks, and being first timers it has set quite a high bar for further camping expeditions.

We travelled as one of two family parties and stayed for 5 nights at this site. The other party had stayed before and from their recommendation we booked to stay here this year camping.
The site's location is excellent providing a good outlook over the coastline and with step access to the beach was fine by us. As we were camping we were located on the fringe of a green shaded by trees, which was great as with a young family meant they could play safely and make friends with other children readily. The site location is such that visiting local places of interest such as Southwold, Leiston, Beccles, Lowestoft, and Great Yarmouth are all in reasonable reach, although if you just want to relax the beach and viwes can be all that you need, though if you feel energetic you can always cycle around the locality through a number of cycle routes.
The facilities are pretty good with the bar & restaurant giving a cosy country feel, and the staff were polite and helpful. The toilets and washroom were pretty clean although this is in part determined by the attention other campers pay in helping maintain the facilities. The washing up and laundry areas were okay and play area for children kept them occupied, while the site was generally clean and tidy. The mini shop on the site although small was well stocked and reasonably priced. The site is currently upgrading its facilities which should further enhance its appeal in the near future. The only thing to boost the facilities would be to have a swimming pool on the site, and possibly include more equipment in the children's play area.
We found that many fellow campers had stayed before and often return time after time - so summer bookings need to be made early to avoid disappointment. We booked again already. The other residents seemed to be very friendly and everyone was considerate to their neighbours. The only issue we had aside from an abundance of wasps (pack your Waspeeze in case), was that on our penultimate day there was a large group of people arrive who went about taking over more than their allocated space, and taking over the green to set up gazebos and park their vehicles on the green and be noisy without consideration to others. By the evening this had so ruined the atmosphere that we packed and went home. This was the only thing that spoiled an otherwise very enjoyable stay, but we will see whether this was a one off disappointment next year.

Most of the site is great. The toilets are new and very clean, the facilities can't be faulted.
Our pitch was located between the children's play area and the main entrance. As a result we had children literally playing all around the tent from 8am to 10pm. I'm sure it was fantastic for the parents who were on the other side of the camp, but not for the poor souls trying to enjoy a meal four feet from a busy climbing frame while four feet in the other direction children with squeaky brakes are using the speed bumps as jump ramps for the hundredth time. I know it was full season, but it would have been nice to have been informed about the very close proximity of the playground when we booked.
I can fully recommend the site, but if you don't have children and value a bit of peace and quiet you should ask not to be put on pitches L1,L2 or L3.

This campsite is fantastic. It was our first time away in our Caravan and we could not have spent it at a nicer place. The site is like a huge woodland, trees everywhere, which in turn means that it brings in the wildlife (animal not human)! The site has a little shop which really just stocks the essentials and I think for the size of the camp, it could do with being a bit bigger. However as we took everything anyway, we did not need it, so it was ok.There is a small pub on site, which we used once and it seemed friendly enough and not to expensive.
There are steps leading down to the beach, which is a beautifully clean beach and never seemed to be crowded considering it was in the high season.
The showers and toilet blocks were very impressive and lovely and clean. We spoke to two people who have been visiting the site for 25 years, which shows what a good site it is!
We had one bad night there, when some idiots let their children run around screaming and laughing until the early hours of the morning, but I think that a number fo people complained because it certainly never happened again. Unfortunately it is the ignorant few who spoil things for others.
Anyway the site is also surrounded by hundred of acres of woodland, heathland as well as the sea.
One morning I lay in bed watching a Woodpecker which was only about 6 feet away from our window. It was pure magic. I can thoroughly recommend this site to everyone, you wont be disappointed.

Fantastic location. The site is right next to the beach, near Southwold, with some lovely walks nearby. The site itself is lovely. To be honest, we found the 3 showers to be less than adequate, as sometimes we had a 25 minute wait, and we didn't find the water to be hot all of the time, but it wasn't too much of a problem. The bar staff are friendly, and the food is good, and the play area for the children is ok.
The site has a lot of trees, and if you happen to be under them (as we were) then this blocks out the sun, and leaves the ground very muddy underneath if there has been a downpour. Again, if you are going out, that is not a problem, but if you fancy sitting by your tent with a book, it can feel quite cool being constantly in the shade.
However, we had a good time, the staff were friendly enough, and it's fine for a couple of days break away.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay - our first visit to this campsite with 3 other families. Some pitches were quite shady including ours, however, they were set around and open piece of grass where all the kids played happily. Site has access to beach via steps.
Toilet block could not be faulted. Water was very hot and available 24 hours. Everything was very clean and warm as the block was heated.
We used the campsite shop to buy a few things and it didn't seem overly expensive. It stocked quite a range considering it wasn't very big.
The outdoor play area was perfect and catered for a range of ages from 3-10. Had 2 climbing frames with monkey bars , slides etc and at one end there was a goal and an area to play football.
Lots of interesting things to see and do nearby - sand dunes and crabbing at Walberswick , Aldeburgh, Southwold - pier and lighthouse.
We will definitely be returning to this site

Just spent a weekend at Cliff House. Generally park very nice, but caravan pitches were too small, you felt like you were crammed in which did not make for the relaxing break it should have been.
Bar nice but food rather ordinary and expensive for area. Toilets and showers very nice, clean and plenty of hot water. Staff very helpful and friendly. Childrens playpark lovely.
Lovely walks from just outside park entrace made the weekend worthwhile. Would visit again if they would space the pitches out more.
